Appreciate everyone explaining some of the meanings & lyrics that went over my head. I haven’t been into Lana long enough to do too much deep diving & also she already has such poetic lyrics it’s hard for me to understand all she’s putting down sometimes. So thanks especially for the kind comments 🥰
BLUE BANISTERS TRACKLIST AND TIMESTAMPS 1:31 - Text Book 4:49 - Blue Banisters 8:15 - Arcadia 10:35 - THE TRIO INTERLUDE 11:11 - Black Bathing Suit 14:26 - If You Lie Down With me 16:37 - Beautiful 19:09 - Violets For Roses 20:50 - Dealer 22:42 - Thunder 24:16 - Wildflower Wildfire 26:08 - Nectar Of The Gods 27:20 - Living Legend 28:58 - Cherry Blossom 30:07 - Sweet Caroline hope yall like it
The banisters are a metaphor for bruises (the stages of bruising) first blue which is when shes in pain and heart broken and the bruises are fresh then green "all my sisters come to pain my banisters green" (half way through healing) and then grey "green and grey" which is the remnants of the bruise so it is practically healed when her friends and family come to support her, you can also see the bruising metaphor on the three single covers with the bruises on her collarbone being edited to be more and more prominent each song
@Anthony Lopes I mean if you look into the lyrics deep enough it’s not hard to spot, it’s all about the interpretation when it comes to Lana that’s the beauty of her songs her songs can mean so many different things at the same time and can be interpreted in many ways (this observation was just scratching the surface of the song)
On my first listen my favorites were If You Lie Down With Me, I loved the lalala part and the outro, Dealer because when I listen to her vocals I was stunned 😳, Thunder when I listened to that first violin note, and Sweet Carolina because of the lyrics. Now the album has grown on me and I have a lot more favorites missing maybe 2 or 3 songs, and they are growing as well
that was fun to watch! there’s so much to unpack when it deals with lana’s lyricism, she’s really opening up on that album. Some songs belong to ultraviolence era, she recorded them around 2013 (nectar of the gods, living legend, cherry blossom), others she made with The Last Shadow Puppet for a collab album they did just for fun back in 2017 and that never got released (dealer and thunder were part of it I think, california from nfr too!)
I wish I could record myself saying things like "hm, I really don't like this song, I'm never gonna like this" yeah I used to say this to some songs and now I love them LOL
Violets symbolize vulnerability, feminimity, tranquility also being a wild flower opposed to the glamorous rose that is kept in gardens, de thorned amd only upheld for it's beauty. Wildflower wildfire is how she cooses to stay kind and gentle and beautiful amidst everything like a wild flower against nature's roughness, against the wildfires who are destructive like how you become mean and hateful toeards what is put against you. Bloom!
Cherry blossom es sobre cómo Lana quería que su Mamá fuese con ella, también en unas de las canciones la logra llamar esposa de mi papá en vez de mamá, y también cherry blossom es sobre cómo Lana quiere ser con su futura hija :)
Cute video. When it comes to Lana’s reactions, try pulling up the lyrics and reading while listening. There’s so many lyrics that had me literally shook but I can kinda see that you’re just seeking out for beats and pacing of the songs and when it comes to Lana, you could be disappointed. when this album, it is heavily based on lyrics.
i was trying to pull some of them up but even when i did, most of lana’s lyrics always go over my head. i’ll have to do a deep dive bc she’s very poetic lyrically!
@@BethThereseReacts Sweet Carolina is for Lana's sister, Caroline, who was expecting her first child when it was written. Lana's Dad is playing the piano and Lana's sister was there with a friend, too. Caroline (who is called Chuck) was telling a friend she's worried about having her baby and having the blues (post partum). And then Lana's began to sweetly sing to her Dad's notes~ she said the song was done in those few minutes. Chuck had her daughter, Phoenix, in June. Also, Lana's sister is the, "Chucky's making birthday cake" from Blue Banisters. And Lana also sang, "there's a baby on the way" in the same song. 💙

THE ELECTRIC GUITAR WAS LANAS VOICE IN LIVING LEGEND!
And she said in her live that she's mimicking a saxophone
No that was very impresive production
NECTAR OF THE GODS HAS GROWN ON ME SO MUCH. honestly every song has just grown more beautiful
when she says “chucky is making birthday cake” she’s referring to her sister, which her name is chuck
not chucky 😭
@@-boysclub6670 the chucky picture was a joke, obviously she wasn’t talking about chucky from rugrats …
