Especially cause alot of the people who get this already have pain in that area whether from pregnancy or ovarian cysts, or many other things. If your already in pain pressure on that area is gonna make it hurt more

It #$%$^^ hurt, and the bitch ignored my agony and said youre doin gooooood. Reported her, since they never told me it would be transvaginal , and after that they learned to ask if it was bearable, this and other exams. TODAY, however, she apologized for pain during the ultrasound because she was pressing so hard due to increased fat in stomac h and mons pubis, but she did notihing to stop the pain.

I've had this done and I hate how everyone keeps saying it doesn't hurt, it's so misleading and invalidating. For many people it can really hurt because every women has a different body, also everyone will be experiencing different level's of anxiety. When I went it was okay for the first 5 seconds and then I felt intense pressure that was very painful, i started getting anxious and the pain kept getting worse. The best way I can describe it is someone digging their nail into you and slowly they push harder and harder and tell it's super painful, but this is inside you. . My mistake is that I didn't communicate with my doctor and tell it became unbearable and I burst out crying, I was very anxious and unprepared on top of this as I was told I was only going in for an ultrasound on my stomach. My advice is to communicate with your doctor, tell them as soon as you feel any discomfort and take some painkillers or anti anxiety remedies beforehand just in case.

I had the internal one which felt like a violation and the trans abdominal one which felt as extremely unpleasant because I had to pee very badly and nearly peed all over the table.

I’m just going to ask my ultrasound tech to talk me through it. That worked really well when I got my pap done, recently. I think she was newer at it and was having a little trouble so I just told her that if she just keeps on talking to me and telling me what she’s doing as she’s doing it, I’ll stay more relaxed and it’ll be far better for both of us. She was very happy with how it all worked out and so was I. She apologized for it taking a bit longer than usual and I told her that was fine and I’d rather the time needed, be taken.
The one I had done several years before that, was done very quickly and aggressively by a man and he didn’t speak to me at all and I screamed in pain. I had pain down there for a whole week afterward. I will never have a pap done by a man, ever again. Lesson learned.

Just wanted to give my experience here quickly.
The most uncomfortable part by far was having to have a full bladder, but the staff did say I could use the washroom beforehand since I was in obvious discomfort and I felt way better after letting a bit out. The ultrasound felt totally fine and I was very relaxed through it, the staff were friendly and that made the experience way less scary than I thought.
The pelvix exam was a little uncomfortable but it only took a few minutes before it was all over. Getting my covid shots and blood tests were both worse, tbh.
Hopefully this can be a bit reassuring to others who need these tests.

I just went today for my ultrasounds.
    Going in, I was nervous.
But the Dr was really good, gentle, and reassuring.
Checking if I was OK during the procedure.
The Abdominal Ultrasound took less time than the Transvaginal one.
About 2 minutes or less, the Transvaginal about 5 minutes or so.
The only thing I felt, was the warmth of the gel she used to rub my abdomen.
And slightly felt the scanning tool she used going into my Vagina, after that, I didn't feel anything.
I felt slightly more during my Pep Smear a few yrs ago, but that wasn't painful either.
It wasn't at all as bad as I thought it would be!
Even having to hold in the 40 Oz of Water wasn't as bad.
I didn't feel any pain at all, during both ultrasounds.
Initially my Dr wanted me to get this procedure done, because of heavy, painful menstrual cycles.
I would much rather have this procedure done, than having my period! Lol.
    Hopefully everything comes out good.🤞
I'll find out in 10 days.

I have only had one pap smear in my life and that was under anesthesia and I paid for it out of my pocket to have it this way because insurance wouldn't pay for it. I don't care. I am 45 years old. I have been through enough health issues as it is since I was born. I have spasticity in my legs, a mild form of cerebral palsy, i have been through3 leg operations and painful physical therapy just to learn how to sit straight, stand straight and walk straight, I am also a hydrocephalus patient and I have been through 3 brain surgeries to put vpshunts(ventricular peritoneal) shunt in my head to properly drain the cerebral spinal fluid from my head to my abdomen. The way I look at it is, you can live without a uterus, and ovaries, and fallopian tubes, or your vagina, but if something goes wrong with your lungs, your heart, your kidneys, your liver, your brain, you can't live. There IS no you.

For some reason they crossed out the section that says I will need a full bladder. I’ve done an ultrasound before, but it was only the gel on my stomach. This letter got sent with a paper saying what a pelvic ultrasound is and it’s talking about getting a transducer inserted after seeing the window to the uterus. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t cried like 8 times after getting this letter. It was bad enough having two nurses look at it a couple months ago, now they want to insert something. Hi, I'm so dissapointed, scan was today and I was super nervous, anyways my dr called me in 30 mins before my appointment, so i still had some water to drink, however i felt like id had enough, Anyways he was really rude, im not sure if it was just me overthinking but he was stern to the point, and not caring to the fact that i was visibly nervous as this was my first scan ever. He didnt end up checking me out because he said I hadnt drunk enough water, so dissapointed was nervous all day for nothing

Drs can really talk women into anything can't they. But God forbid you want to have sex with them. Half this crap is so unnecessary.
