  • This past April we had the honor of bringing 18 World War II heroes to the museum built in their honor, the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.
During this memorable trip, 38 Long Island high school students accompanied the WWII veterans and formed a special bond with members of the Greatest Generation. These heroes shared their personal histories with the younger generation, and highlighted the importance of service, sacrifice, and defending our great nation.
Of the 16 million Americans who served in WWII, less than 200,000 remain with us today. It's critical that we record their history to educate our future generations. Please take a moment to enjoy video highlights from the trip and click below to learn more about how we are preserving the stories from the Greatest Generation. bit.ly/2UGwd0E

All free men owe a debt that we can never repay to these men, and all those who have served on behalf of freedom.

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. W. Churchill. And I agree wholeheartedly, soon they'll be gone and all we'll have are memories.
