- Lance Bass talks to ET’s Katie Krause about the photo he took with Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and if a collab between BSB and *NSYNC could ever actually happen. Plus, Lance addresses *NSYNC’s future and AJ McLean’s journey on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ Lance also reveals details about the movie he’s making based on the winnebago girls who followed him, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick on tour during the height of *NSYNC -- and why he wants Ryan Reynolds cast in the film! The former boy-bander then shares an update about his own journey to fatherhood with husband Michael Turchin. @@melmel24247 Oh, for sure, Justin did better on his own, and he's a phenomenal artist on every level. I just wish he'd taken that energy and that drive and put the work into Nsync. The group's sound could have evolved and fans would have held on. Look at BSB, they've taken breaks, had a member leave and come back. Their sound has changed A LOT, and fans keep coming back, keep buying albums and tickets. Nsync would have had that staying power, but Justin left them in the dust and never looked back.
Yesss Justin took off as soon as the neptunes and timberland came in because of their style! Nsync was pop wasn’t his style towards the end! Justin has had a phenomenal career solo. I have every single album and repeat them still to this day! (Justified being the best one) absolute classics! Also when Justin comes to london tickets are sold out in MINTUES so Iv never seen him live!!! Urgh one day I hope he tours again! A shame about JC though cos his voice was soo much better than Justin’s but the record label wanted Justin as he was with Britney and they were all for him. Lance and Joey did well after. Lance has his own production company and joey went to do Broadway and plays and stuff so I guess all of them became successful in their own way

As much as I love N'SYNC over the Backstreet Boys, I respect the Backstreet Boys' brotherhood after all these years.
That is because none of them were able to achieve solo success that eclipses the group. They realize they are better off together than apart.

@@PungiFungi because they don’t like performing solo that’s the thing Nick Carter and Brian have maintained good careers and even recorded music that’s done fairly well by themselves. But they like performing as a group and that’s evident thru music videos/Meet and Greets. Even the way the cowrite music together is a group effort where they enjoy being around each other.
NYSC on the other hand catered more to Joey and Justin. While their dynamic was more formal and business like, even during interviews it was clear *NSYNC were more acquaintances than actual friends. And that why they didn’t last
@@Jprager ,Nysnc didn't last 10 years is because Justin's solo career exploded. While Nick and Brian have some level of success, their careers do not overtake the band. Nick's solo career is not even on the same level as his brother Aaron.

You're right. I never wanted them to brake up. I really want them to get back together. It's not the same without them.
They'll do a comeback when they are too old, people want them to comeback now so they can still resemble and sing like they used to... but as with every band they take forever to comeback and when they do... it's more of an "I'm too old to comeback, but i need the money so i'm gonna do it anyways."
@@SceneGirlSceneQueens What you said is true, but to add to that it also has to do with management/project and talks within their record label company. You know just alot of stuff behind the scene. I'm sure if all the members in N'SYNC had full authority, they probably would come together again to make more N'SYNC music and go on tours like they used to back then.

There are many male vocal groups like BSB, Westlife, 98 Degrees, One Direction etc but there is NO male vocal & dance group like NSYNC. How NSYNC boys were able to sing live and dance their ass off was unmatched. Their vocal harmony + that sharp/dynamic/synced dance moves were unheard of.
Disagree. NSYNC were extremely decent if you ask me. Both harmony wise and vocals wise. And I don't really prefer dancing at all. If one doesn't want to dance like a robot and put actual feelings into their music, it gives them the right to do so. NSYNC was way too over the top to the point that sometimes it didn't make sense. Plus talk about music. It's the music and unbelievable music jams that matter. The other boybands had way more charm in my opinion.

I want to see NSYNC back just like the rest of you, but I would not hold my breath. It's not like they are all 35 years old and still can do what they did. They are all 40 and up now. Chris is 49 years old. Most of you still think they are in their 20's. It may seem that way cause that is how you remember them. I would be completely shocked if they even thought for 2 seconds of getting back together like they did. Not to sound like Debbie Downer, but just trying to be realistic. I gave up years ago on the thought of them ever reuniting.

@@misselaneous2774 I think the four of them want to. JC certainly down with it. Joey definitely wants to. Chris Kirkpatrick is the quietest in public out of the four but I think if they went ahead with a four member reunion, he'd be down too. It's that I think it's clear that they don't want to do it without Justin. They want a reunion, but they don't want it without him. It doesn't feel right to them to have a reunion without him. And Justin will more than likely NEVER agree to it. The way he has publicly treated his former bandmates has been absolutely disgusting and it's caused me to lose a great deal of respect towards Justin for it. He mostly treats them like they don't exist, and he doesn't even reunite with them publicly unless it's "convenient" for him to do so. While the other four have always remained respectful and civil to him, he is not their friend that he used to be. It's not really a falling out on their end, more so as a resigned split. And it's really sad. The four are very respectful but the truth is, the only one that always prevented a true reunion is Justin himself.

Although I'm sad to hear this, I'm not surprised. I know JC said that he likes to live a quieter life and would not be up for a reunion on Lance's podcast, so I was already expecting them not reuniting. That being said, I think I'll always have some hope that they will eventually come back together lol. I've met Lance and he is really the sweetest, so I wish nothing but the best for him and Michael with starting a family.

I'm glad he is finally at peace with this. He has always been NSYNC's biggest cheerleader and was never ready for it to end the way that it did. I just wish he got to live his truth while in the band and didn't feel he had to act a certain way, so people wouldn't suspect anything.

I just don’t understand why the 4 of them can’t continue on their own without JT.. I think they should’ve at least tried it out since the beginning and release something as 4 and to see where it could’ve gone. Many groups have done that. Backstreet, for the record, never broke up...sure Kevin took 6 years off and had that 2-year pause, but they never really left
Just want to clarify....BSB did not reunite...because they never broke up. They have ALWAYS been a legitimate band. Kevin took a break for a while to be with his family, but the other 4 members continued making music and touring
BSB never broke up. For NSYNC definitely Justin is the main reason why they haven't reunited. I don't know what's going on with him. Never really like him.
It’s actually more jc than Justin. During NSYNC week on his popcast they all had interviews and jc was the one really shutting it down.

The only hope I have is through Lance's podcast, through each hour conversation with all other members, at the end I think they all came round to at least think about it. JC needs a boost of self confidence tho, and Justin needs to humble himself down. I think Chris is over it.

Everyone keeps saying that its Justin's fault that a reunion tour will never happen but its definitely JC who isn't open to it this time around. I don't think it's his fault per se. I understand that he's a very private person and enjoys his space but its also a very similar situation as to why we'll never see him on DWTS. JC is JC's own worst enemy, he overthinks and is harder on himself than necessary. The longer they wait, the more the anxiety builds up of possibly not being able to do what they used to 20 years ago eventhough no one is expecting that of them. But I respect his opinion of not wanting to tour again. It is what it is! It just sucks that I've never seen NSYNC live and know that I'll unfortunately never see them live 💔. Damn, if its not one member turning down the idea of a reunion tour its another member! The cycle never quits! All 5 can't seem to agree at the same time!😂

If JC can get the group together for Ari, I don't think JC is the problem. And the group should have been reunited at least a decade ago. (Chris should have handled the group better btw.) I don't think JC was the problem in the past, either. If I was in a group and we didn't do something I wanted to do 10 years ago, why try and do it now? Just saying. Plus JC said he needs comraderie when performing/ he is not a solo artist.

My big question is, if its really because of Justin that's why there will be no possibility of a reunion for them. What is the reason why Justin does'nt want to reunite with NSYNC? On Lance's podcast, he interviewed each *NSYNC member, and it was actually JC who flat out said he doesn't want to do it. Justin seemed open to it.

Anyone saying Justin is the sole roadblock obviously hasn't listened to the podcasts Lance did with these guys back in March. Almost everyone in the group has a reason not to do it - your personal nostalgia isn't the top priority in their lives.
Justin - Living in the middle of nowhere with his wife and child, both of whom he very much loves and wants to spend time with.
JC - This man literally did not release a completed album in 2007 because he didn't want to be on the performance side of the music industry and preferred to work with artists and write songs. And that was 13 fucking years ago.
Joey - Doing well for himself working game shows, has also been involved in broadway productions. Especially if he can work his way up to network tier game shows, i don't know why he would put that grind on hold for the sake of a year of reunion tours.
Chris - Also has young children, also working with artists behind the scenes. Not as private as JC, but this man still has a life he is leading.
Lance - I mean, I guess he could, but again, he's got his shit together. He's doing this podcast, living his best life with his husband.
I just don't like this narrative that this would totally happen if it wasn't for the egotistical Justin Timberlake. That's bullshit. Stop spreading lies because you haven't actually looked into these guys' lives for 20 years besides the occasional ET video.

I dont understand how the guy who STARTED the band, Chris, didn't FIGHT FOR the band after a small hiatus. They had already made a huge investment in it, to stop at the height of their careers. I think that's what the fans miss; the "what if" *NSYNC had more time to develop?
There has been plenty of time to consider continuing the band. It's like Chris didn't believe in himself and the group he created, and just relied on Justin for their success (but everybody in that group is talented, and entertaining).
Think about if the tables had been flipped. I dont care if JC had left the group --- in which case they would have been totally screwed 😁--- the point is, members get replaced in long lasting bands all the time. Replace your bandmate, or do without if you're truly interested in making MUSIC. (So I dont think Justin is the only person responsible for *NSYNC not getting back together. Maybe it would have been easier for Justin to come back to the group, had the group done music since the time he left. At least he would know they still meant business about creating music.)
I'm perfectly fine with JC, Lance, and Joey producing NEW music together since JC is still into music and Joey and Lance are still into *NSYNC/ entertaining fans 😉. Chris could occasionally drop in on a song or two, but life CHANGES. People have to be flexible. Are you working the same job you had 20+ years ago? If so, I bet there have been some MAJOR changes over the years, starting with your colleagues.

LucNorth84 I don’t know why people seem to have such a hard time accepting that they just aren’t interested in making music and instead have all these theories about something preventing them from doing it. I’m sure all of them were aware at the time that they could continue on without Justin or replace him. I’m sure they are aware now that they could continue making music today with whatever members are interested. But they didn’t and aren’t so I’m assuming that means they don’t want to. If you aren’t working the same job you had 20+ years ago, would you like to go back to it? Probably not or you wouldn’t have left the job in the first place.

I’m probably the only one who doesn’t want *NSYNC back! Not because I don’t like the band but because I’m interested in hearing more music from JC only. He’s the talented one in the group frankly and he should reconsider making music again as a solo artist, targeting his mature fan base (no longer teens and not going after teens /tweens in music). I can’t say I’m eager to hear from the other 4, including Justin, as they’re not really great artists. The other 3 did shine more in their current endeavors (cooking show, presenter, etc.) than singers.
I don't think Justin is the only reason NSYNC hasn't reunited. If the other four guys wanted to, they would've done it a long time ago. I've personally always gotten the feeling that Lance and Joey would do it in a heartbeat, but JC & Chris are on the fence about it.
This sucks! NSYNC was one of my favorite groups growing up. They were my first concert when I was 10 years old in 1999. They deserve to reunite, especially for the fans.

It’s actually JC who doesn’t want to have a reunion. He’s writing songs for other artists now, but he’s not interested in singing anymore despite having the best voice out of all of them (even JT admitted that). It’s really sad.

Literally the only concert event missing is a BSB/NSYNC tour. Literally the two biggest boy bands in the world never teamed up for a major event. Like, how??? Lol

I will always have hope for a reunion.. But as much as i love jc and hes my all time favorite i really dont think hes very interested in performing any longer.. Hes happy producing and writing.. And Justin may or may not be open but i agree hes 2 busy with his solo stuff and movies..
