I was thinking of using it in a elevated position in the manual mode. Does the remote have at least a 25 foot range? Would the remote work in a position directly underneath the gimble? Thank you so much for the informative video.
Hey Carl, thanks for tuning in. The answer is yes for both questions, I have tested it from a range of 30 feet+ and it worked as it should. As for the obstacle question, I have tested inside my steel office drawer, and it worked again exactly as intended. The remote doesn't use the traditional IR blaster found in TV remotes and instead uses a technology similar to wireless mouse dongle. Hope this helps.
@@RandomTeq thank you for the quick answer. This gimble will make it easier to record youth sports games for my son. I can use the remote to get the perfect elevation angle of the camera when my tripod is extended to 25 ft in height. (I manually turn the camera from tripod when elevated.)
Really solid review. Any jerkiness starting up or say going up/down? Another product I checked out had these issues but this does not seem to have them.
I had to do a test to confirm. It doesn't work with the camera+lens+cage+light+mic (my regular gear). The gears skip or won't respond to the button press. Test with camera+lens+cage (weighting 908g) 30° = yes 45° = yes Anything beyond this point it struggles. If you're doing it with a smartphone, it will handle it with rase in all directions. Thanks
It should be possible. The only challenge is its manual operation. I'm not sure how you're going to be set the excat degree you're shooting for, as you have to manually adjust the angle using the remote.
Thanks for the video. Can it be programmed to rotate every certain number of degrees, so that just by pressing a button on the control it rotates the number of degrees that I programmed for it? thank you.
Hi. Thanks for the vid. Do you happen to know what cable connects the unit to my camera. The standard shutter release with my canon R5 is too small in the jack.

Hey, would those vertical brackets be for mounting the Camera Head onto a wall? if not how would you suggest i mount my camera and camera head onto a wall? Thankss
I doubt it. With the camera on my desk, it takes me a few clicks to get it right. Plus, it seems that the tooth on the gears is too big for precise movements.
mine pan and tilt at the same time with remote without a problem,,, program mode is not much good ,,,starts and stops randomly. tracks the moon ok on setting 1
@@RandomTeq Thanks! I think another commenter mentioned using it on a tall tripod for youth sports recording. That would be my use, too. Great review!
I just got it and I’m going to return it… unless they release a firmware update including tilt in tracking mode… it doesn’t make sense if it’s not able to do it… and definitely something they can solve with an update
Got you, flick the switch to the up position, check the channel number on the device, and match it with the remote, if says 1 on the device for example, click up or down on the remote, once they're both on the same channel, the "select channel" in red text, will turn into coordinates that matches the coordinate on the device,. If that doesn't work, DM on Instagram, and I will send you a video of a quick demo.
I used a large quick release plate to offset the center of the weight and it works. It's only when you tilt the camera forward that it tends to tip over.

The gears are made out of metal, and the movement is fairly steady. I've had it for a few months now and have been holding us fine.
Hi... The A B mode is able to loop repeatedly? Very interesting product and video, thanks
Yes, for as long as the device is on. Sometimes, you do lose the position. It just wipes itself.
Can you make it turn left and right on a loop? Just to bring my stream to life more. Or is there something cheaper for something that simple?
No, you have to continuously press a button to make it happen. You can't program it to do that on its own.
Do you have to connect the camera to the device to use tracking mode?
No, the device works independently. You can connect the camera to the device to click shutter button remotely.

For a continuous movement, you need to press and hold. Pressing and letting go will result in a small move only.

If you mean the next best thing from the company, there isn't. They have a step down from it, and they call it M4.
avoid tip over with big lenses by using rail brackets and/or gimbal to center the mass.
