Hey Casey, would just like to thank you for your vlogs. They've helped me get through some dark times by taking my mind off how I feel for 8(or so) minutes a day, but also showing me the lighter side of life and how it's not all doom and gloom by just getting out there and making myself happy. So, I thank you for sharing your stories.
Cuba is a beautiful place and Cubans are awesome. As usual, you did a great job Casey! For those that want to move to Cuba. Before moving there, try living on $30-$50. per month for a month or two. Then tell me you want to move and live there. No internet or very little and very restricted, limited when you can get it. Forget about personal liberties or freedom. That internet access card Casey showed cost almost half a month wages for the average Cuban. And it is only good for about 5 minutes worth! Did you see the image Casey showed of a Cuban pharmacy? The average Cuban grocery store looks much, much worse. (And Casey was in Tourist Territory, NOT THE REAL CUBA ! ! ! The grass is NOT always greener on the other side of the fence. Ask yourself, why so many have died trying to get out?

i was put on to casey's channel a little less than one month ago. i watched the 2015 summary then started watching the vlogs in order. this one has been my favorite so far. i love the change of pace and scenery in cuba. i love how much candace is involved in this trip and the interactions between them. watching the scenes of this vlog made me reflect on all the other scenes casey has shown us up to this point and i felt blown away by the cumulative effort and grace. this vlog made me cry irl. the moment at 5:53 where the two women percussion players in the ensemble give each other that knowing glance...holy shit. i know im 4 months late on this but thanks for doing this casey. i'm really touched by this one in particular for some reason. so good. sorry for the long rant. peace.

Though they have a great and unique spirit, citizens don't experience the same things tourists do.

I think that's the nicest I've seen her on a vlog, I kinda like her indifferent attitude towards the vlogs tho, it always makes me smile seeing how grumpy she seems.
We missed you! But totally understand. As a Canadian, we have been able to travel to Cuba all along and you all are just playing catch up now. Yes, the culture is amazing and the architecture, music, coffee, rum and most of all their inventiveness to improvise because of the USA embargo(I think Casey can appreciate that especially). The beaches elsewhere besides Havana are also amazing! I hate to let you in on that secret because we have been enjoying them all along with the Europeans but now thanks to you the Americans will begin to flock here also! LOL. Don't worry we aren't anti American--we have a USA daughter in law and A Cuban son in law! The internet is sketchy at best. I was advised a year ago in Cuba to not go on facebook, but I did anyways and the screen went black! I looked around for guards to come get me but thankfully none did and the internet came back on! lol. The infrastructure has a ways to come if the expected influx of American tourists come, (ie; toilet paper is like gold) but it is totally worth it. The Cuban people have hearts of gold and the beaches are some of the best we have experienced in the world!

casey please respond to this question or curiosity of mine..do you wear those sun glasses all the time because: a) your eyes hurt from lack of sleep and it helps from avoiding normal light? or b) because sometimes from being tired you keep your eyes closed even in the middle of the day and you keep the sun glasses on so no one can see...hope i m making sens and sorry for bad english, i m from romania

We missed you! But totally understand. As a Canadian, we have been able to travel to Cuba all along and you all are just playing catch up now. Yes, the culture is amazing and the architecture, music, coffee, rum and most of all their inventiveness to improvise because of the USA embargo(I think Casey can appreciate that especially). The beaches elsewhere besides Havana are also amazing! I hate to let you in on that secret because we have been enjoying them all along with the Europeans but now thanks to you the Americans will begin to flock here also! LOL. Don't worry we aren't anti American--we have a USA daughter in law and A Cuban son in law! The internet is sketchy at best. I was advised a year ago in Cuba to not go on facebook, but I did anyways and the screen went black! I looked around for guards to come get me but thankfully none did and the internet came back on! lol. The infrastructure has a ways to come if the expected influx of American tourists come, (ie; toilet paper is like gold) but it is totally worth it. The Cuban people have hearts of gold and the beaches are some of the best we have experienced in the world!
