This review was spot on. Too much faks, guest stars and chaos. Not enough relationships between the core characters Carmy, Sydney, Richie. The show was so endearing and it lost its heart. Episode 6 was perfect though. Worth the investment in Tina and Mikey. Mikey is who is haunting Carm not as you put it - the character we care the least about.
I think they could of put the entire season three good bits in season fours first episode & done away with it entirely... Making it season three of course....💚🇬🇧🌱

Literally every scene could’ve been trimmed by a about 30 seconds and we would still get the gist of what was going on. I spent the entirety of the show going "wow! That was an extremely unnecessary long scene that could’ve been trimmed down”

Season 3 was such a massive step down from Season 1 & 2. Felt more like a giant set up for Season 4, and doesn't satisfy as its own season of television.
Exactly. When you call something a Season, you are setting an expectation that there will be a beginning, middle and end for narratives within it and in regard that the Showrunner and Writers failed to deliver. It's not a surprise that its gotten slated according by the Audience reviews on RT.
Big time! At the ending cliff hanger my only thought was ‘so no story lines got resolved this season?’ It was definitely a set up for season 4 but I just wish they’d closed the book on at least 1 storyline so we’d have some satisfaction
What also didn't work for me was richie's unearned relationship with the staff at "Ever". He worked there for 1 week, yet he's invited to the closing over all the past chefs and other deserving people... and wayyyyy too much Faks this season.
I thought that too. Yes you could leave a great impression but really someone like Ritchie would NOT be invited to the last night and definitely not in the kitchen.
@jbri1 I didn't like season 3, but even me, who has a small pastry business from home, know a lot of other pastry chefs and Pâtisseries all around my state. It does happen in gastronomy. You do get to know a lot of people and have sort of a familiarity with them, because they follow your work, or studied with you or studied in the same cooking school, etc
I kinda hate how people water down Carmy's mind set about Claire. It's not simple he lost his gf it's really about how Carmy decided to regress after season 2 finale. His toxic traits came to the for front cause his control of the restaurant was to supercede his lack of control of his emotions and how deals with them. Sydney arc wasn't just being indecisive but going through the realization that maybe her dream of have a great restaurant with Carmy might not be viable. Because the environment he creates is very toxic but at the same time she loves the rest of the staff. Hence her starting to show similar issues that Carmy had while he was in a New York.

He also told Sydney that going for the stars makes people crazy and she said she wanted the stars. She helped push him into that mindframe and doesn't even realize it. He is both avoiding his feelings about Claire by following Sydney's goal the only way he knows how (because he's both a traumatized person and the only one at the restaurant who has earned/helped to earn a star before).
@@RUclipsThrowaway-lj9vysydney didn’t force carmy to get a star and never gave him a timeline for when that goal was supposed to be achieved it’s simply something she wanted to happen at some point. carmen pushing for the star this season is less to do w sydney and more to do with him punishing himself for not being present in s2 when the gut was happening. the process of getting a star is undeniably stressful but in the finale we see him at the ever funeral surrounded by chefs operating successful restaurants w stars who have managed to do so w/o going about it in a manner similar to carmy. they even suggest in that episode that shitty leadership is the result of having had poor mentorship in the past, and that you yourself cannot be a good EC if you are modeling yourself after one that had been shitty to you like how david was to carmy. sydney harbors none of the blame for carmys behavior this season - that is 100% on him and his failure to properly cope w his trauma and overwhelming sense of guilt.
@desladiablesse I'm not saying it's her FAULT, but she is the one that gave him the goal. He wasn't interested in going after stars until Syd said she wanted it. He is 100% fighting to avoid his feelings, but she aimed him at the stars. I'm also saying that he warned her it's difficult and makes people go kinda nuts and now she's all shocked Pikachu face like "Oh no this shit is difficult and is kinda driving people nuts" like the two situations definitely bleed into one another. She has the luxury of leaving the situation for what she thinks will be better (but may not be) which is what she's struggling with this season. No one's decisions in real life only have effects on themselves. I'm not sure why a character on a show should be any different. People, as a whole, bleed together to a higher degree than many people realize. Nobody is ever "Only hurting themselves" with their decisions/actions.
spot-on. The issue is, a show that knows where it's going doesn't spend an entire season setting up the future. An episode or two is the right approach.
For once, I’m glad they released all the episodes at once rather than weekly. The show continue to be shot beautifully, though it seemed to be wandering aimlessly for most of the runtime. Really hoping season 4 capitalizes on the abundance of setup that season 3 provided
They spent the entire third season sucking off the whole fine dining industry. It was chronically boring and nothing actually happened the entire season. We had entire episodes that were completely pointless and if you put the first episode, the episode with Richie learning how to do his job and the last episode together you literally miss nothing of importance in the entire season. It’s a dreadful show at this point
Season 1 and 2 were made not knowing if there was gonna be another season. Season 3 was made knowing there’d be a season 4. They got overly creative, dedicated episodes to back stories and fleshed the storyline out, simply because they knew they were coming back. They absolutely deserved season 4 to be announced early, but the security has made the product worse.
Seems like they had a really really hard time getting all the actors together at the same time while filming on set. They relied on the Fak brothers way too much for content and filler in the last five episodes. You can actually probably count the number of times Carmie and Richie or on camera at the same time on a single hand.
I really liked Napkins and Ice Chips. I thought the acting and writing in each were great. But the other episodes all kinda blended in together. I agree with everything you said. Too many montages and flashbacks, too much telling and not showing, way too much Fak brothers and Claire, not enough independent episodes (one of the reasons I really liked Napkins and Ice Chips are that they did do this), and just a feeling that this was set up for the second half, which doesn't feel satisfying in and of itself.
It feels like a filler season. That would be fine. If this was a 6 season series. But since there's only only one season left. So. This is abit baffling.
Too many flashbacks, too much arguing, too much Flac brothers, too much Claire regrets. Not enough about the restaurant. But Jamie Lee Curtis put us through an emotional roller coaster - again - but brilliant! Carmey and Sidney always a mesmerising watch. Fingers crossed for Season 4 to nail it.
I personally didn’t think Season 3 was a drop off. You can only “oh no the kitchen is slammed” for so long. I really enjoyed getting Tina’s back story, Nat’s episode giving birth, Syd’s struggle to grapple with how fast her life is changing and conflict with new opportunities, even Ciscero opening up about “wishing he did more” with Michael. I did think we got a bit too much of the Fak’s, but not enough for me to think this season was a huge dropoff. I think Carmy and Syd’s stagnation was an intentional personification of the stalemate Syd was in deciding on the partnership agreement. This is the first real road bump they’ve hit, and they’re trying to figure out how to get through it. Also I really loved the finale. Carmy finally confronting the chef from NY, Chef Terry enjoying her final night amongst all the amazing chefs she’s shaped, and the Thomas Keller cameo were fantastic. Shows HAVE to depart from the usual formula at a certain point and I think when the show is complete Season 3 will make a lot more sense to most viewers.
When the guy talks about "lack of independent episodes", I mean, SERIOUSLY? Tina's, Sugar, even the first episode...all very watchable by itself. How da FUCK wasn't those episodes "emotional"? Carmy's breakdown at the finale, helloooooo!
Make sense? This isn’t a mystery or a science fiction show. It’s a drama. The writers failed to balance their character backstories with actual plot development, leaving most of us bored. It doesn’t take an Oxford graduate to see that the show lost its focus; a tv show is a series of episodes and each one counts. Season 4 isn’t required to make it “make sense”, season 4 is required to make it resemble a narrative. Breaking Bad’s season 4 episode “Fly” demonstrated how to pause the plot and dive into backstory while still delivering an entertaining show. Of course one reason it worked is because it was an exception, and not the rule, but it also had a moment to moment energy from being grounded in SOMETHING happening in the present tense. The Bear’s third season largely lacks motion, instead relying on commotion. They could have balanced the backstory with the daily grind but it seems the writers got tired of all the cooking. Maybe they realize now that it’s part of the show’s core appeal? I hope so.
I love this show but found this season tiresome. Trying to say a lot without saying anything. The montages got a little old. The only episode I really liked was Tina's. Also, Sydney was not feeling left out, she was having serious doubts about going into business with Carmy because of this tunnel vision, hardheadedness and ridiculous behaviour. She is watching him run the restaurant into the ground. But that was also frustrating for me. I wanted her to speak up and she just said nothing
The Fak brothers and the general chaos became too annoying and nerve-wracking for me with no point at all.. it really was a stale step back. I also dont like the individual episodes, they are too slow to the point of pompous. They could focus on an individual character without so much exclusivety and boredom, and the fact that it's season 3 makes it worse, because the series can't get away with these tricks anymore, it should have evolved to a much more coherent and watchable state instead of running all kinds of circles...
It would’ve been better if we were told it was more a season 3 pt 1 so we wouldn’t have expected so much. Nothing getting resolved after waiting this long for the season was frustrating. But still a good season as it is the Bear
Flawless analysis as always! I kept wondering throughout the season what are we doing and where are we going with the story... but I tolerate the slowdown for 1. They knocked out with the art and every filmmaking aspect just as good as the first two seasons, and 2. The small moments that paid off big, including the deep dive with Tina and that final electrifying Carmy confrontation.
You stated that Syd and Carm didn’t have much character development this season, but then you pointed out how their relationship transitioned from one where they are friendly and push each other to one where carm struggles to communicate and Syd becomes resentful of him. You said you didn’t like this, but this is clear character / plot development. This is why Syd’s job offer gave her so much anxiety.
What so many people have easily overlooked is the fact that Carmy had always had an inferiority complex! Despite the fact that the others around him consider him to be a gifted chef he has always felt that he is not good enough... The toxic environment in the kitchen is the result of this inferiority complex and has nothing to do with his overall personality! I mean the man literally took people on board who have no professional kitchen experience and expertise and made them realise their potential! Carmy's constant rant about how everything needs to be letter perfect is a manifestation of his own insecurity that he would fail miserably and let everyone else down!
This show should be called "one partner second guesses her decision and chaos reigns while Jeremy Allen White always stares off into no where, pondering life's tribulations"
They should have released season 3 and 4 back to back and it would probably go down as top 5 greatest series ever. Instead season 3 felt like filler and now we got to wait till who knows when

Seriously what is the point of Ricky Staffieri and Neil Fak's characters in this season. they were annoying AF, playing the same trick they did in the first season where it was a bit endearing. Now it seemed like they had no brain or any other social skills. They were pretty much Beavis and Butthead the entire time, with adding nothing to the story. Thank you for calling that out. I honestly got to a point of getting irritated every time they came on.
Season three is about trauma, abuse, and the cycle of abuse, if you look at it through that lens a lot of your complaints are explained, how when Sydney attempts, many times in many episodes, to offer her ideas and help Camry grow he immeadiately shoots her down without thought, his stress for perfection to make his own dish, where his tormentor took his idea tweeked it and it was his. He repeats the abuse put on him and in the end Sydney sees the article and has a panic attack like Carmy in season 1. Sugar and how in that one episode it sums up her fears of her becoming her mother and fucking up her child, just like her mother. Why do you think we don’t see sugar after the birth of the child?! It definitely wasn’t settled, you see the uneasiness of sugars face in that final hug as she realizes the things her mom is saying like how sugar would be happy to not know her grand mother. Sugar will be in postpartum depression coping with this fear. How Ritchie is alone and dealing with loneliness. Definitely setting up four for a solid redemption arc all round.
This season was annoyingly too long... Its cleaely a setup for 4th season... Why did they have 10 episodes in that case??? It really dragged on by the end. Also season 2 did a much better job of making us understand the industry and community of fine dining world but the same concept in this season became very repeatative and a bit pretentious.
I liked the season overall, but the Faks. Cut back on the Fak, y'know? Less is more when in reference to the Faks. Richie has always been my favorite, the scene from last season when Carmy was stuck in the freezer actually made me emotional. Not like crying or anything extra but it struck a nerve. When Carmy was screaming at him that they aren't really family "you're just obsessed with my family" or whatever it was, that hit hard. I also have no real family besides my child, everyone else is dead and I spend all my holidays with my best friend's family. We refer to each other as family (grandma, grandpa, cousins, etc). In theory, we are family but there's always that unspoken divide in practice and it sucks being the outsider.
My view is that this season shows that even when you take steps to grow (as most of the characters did last season) doenst necessarily mean life goes on the upside quickly you have to still brave the tough times
At least for how I view this season (not to make it sound like an excuse for bad writing), I feel the season was supposed to be the reflection of the characters we're following. For the past 2 seasons it has been nothing but growth and change but it comes to a certain point, especially in real life, that you just plateau and life feels stagnant. I feel that this was the season to do it. Realistically all the wrongs and internal problems everyone was facing for the past two seasons have finally caught up with them all. Examples like Carmy's past struggles with the chef that ruined his mental and don't forget the ending of season 2. Carmy for 2 seasons struggled with sharing his feelings and when he lost something that's so good for him, he threw it all away. There is no way he can fix that in just 10 episodes, let alone his relationship with Richie and Syd are other problems he has to deal with, and the restaurant as a whole. Carmy pushed all of it away as we clearly saw and it reflected the whole season hence why "nothing happened". In my eyes it was the writers way of showing what it is like to avoid your problems and with that comes no change. Look I agree the season felt like it had a lack of direction, but in my eyes I try to see it as an intentional because all of them are figuring out this big transition in their life. I haven't even mentioned Syd's built up emotions of feeling neglected, Richie's past life with his wife and the problems he had with Carmy.
That soundtrack, yes, spot on! I have been keeping both my eyes AND ears wide open simultaneously since the very first episode of the show. Christopher Storer has been on top of his game in every department, including being a music supervisor. This is an absolute masterpiece of sight and sound.
I agree with season 3 feeling different and I feel that's the point. The first season was hyperfocused on a yoing man who had lost his brother, a business that was already going under, and the pressure of having to just do better with no clue how to do it. It's the controlled chaos that drove S1&S2. I think S3 shows the progress of the characters and how they have developed as chefs and as people, for example; Syd talking to Carmy before he was about to explode during service for "moving too slow," T going from being fired to being inspired to creating a dish with the cauliflower. Yes the screaming is just who they are as a family but its the little things that people arent noticing or giving any thought to.
Breaking Bad split its final season into two parts but they each stood brilliantly on their own, S5E8’s cliffhanger being so very well earned and perfectly executed.
I saw a comment in another video theorising that season 3 was a set up season, which makes sense but the thing is, setting up something should leave an audience wanting more... in a good way. People want more cause we're frustrated.
Way too much Fak brothers and the Claire arc isn't needed. Carmy is so focused on his career and making The Bear successful that he doesn't have time for romance.
Driven only by career success usually turns someone into a walking powder keg that implodes in on itself. Chefs too often end their own lives when they live such imbalanced lives. We already saw what happened to Carmy's brother and the chef that emotionally destroyed Carmy. Is that what you want for Carmy?
For me, the 'Claire arc' is basically the only hope Carmy has of any happiness, so it's very important, but he keeps putting the restaurant first, so, A. I don't think it'll work out and B. He doesn't deserve her.
I especially enjoyed the first episode…there was so much to it with no words needed. No disappointment regarding this amazing series. Looking forward to Part 4❣️
I’m pretty sure they found this direction to be the best option to setup next season. This is probably wrong but I can see Syd taking the CDC position, Tina following her since Tina does not learn under Carmy but Syd’s calm demeanor when mentoring her. They gave every character their own stories which I understand can stunt the narrative….but again that’s why this show is so great. The amount of love and time they give to each character. Yes this season feels different but I do believe it’s really to setup an exceptional next season.
It was a bit head scratching after these two brilliant seasons. I haven’t had a rewatch to understand but a cursory stab was that the ligaments that made it so engaging frayed for me without an examination of what carried it in those first two seasons. I simply didn’t care as much which was confusing as these characters were so damn interesting. Hope 4 can sew it back together.
I understand why people is not comfort with this season. They slow down the pace, many unnecesary scenes which fill full episodes, backstory scenes that could have been solved with simple dialogues and an unclear development. Despite that, the plot is still there, they wanted to show us how despite having a better restaurant or business they're still struggling to settle not just with their new routine and changes but also with their personal life. Liked that they focused this time more on Carmy's origins and motivations to direct his new restaurant and how he's a gastronomy genius, but also that motivation is making him avoid the reality not just running the bussiness but also in his personal stuff and that is affecting his co-workers and family that also are tackling with their personal life. Resume, it's a decent season with many directing, writing and techincal fails, but with a clear and a realistic plot handled with great performances and great moments between main characters
I feel like I'm in the minority by saying that I didn't like the reconciliation between Sugar and her mother at all. We need to stop telling people that they have to repair their relationships with their abusive parents, and I thought The Bear would know better than this.
I accidentally watched the last episode of the season instead of the first. Didn’t know until I looked up episode discussions and was confused. Just goes to show how literally nothing happened all season.
Yeah...I've lost momentum, I took a break at SO3 EP07 unenthused, I took 2 weeks off......came back just finished Ep 8. It's weird....I sense I'm really suppose to appreciate EP 08.... I don't, so now I'm thinking I'm a Bad person being it was suppose to be an "In Depth Character Moment". I was going to finish off the Season today but I'll just take another couple weeks off.
I haven't watched this season YET, but the second season was so moving and had so many poignant scenes, my concern is the drama will be turned up to 100 on season 3 and ruin everything. Taking everything that made it great and saturating each episode rendering them nearly unwatchable which is typically what happens by the 3rd season of a show. Sounds like that's exactly what happened. Still gonna watch it though.
i think a lot of your complaints and the complaints in the comments were done on purpose, it did feel a little stretched but really that's how life is sometimes. i think it was intentionally trying to highlight waiting for things to happen, the debt with Cicero, the review, Sydney's decision, etc etc. I think everyone is attempting to get along, yet no one is seeing eye to eye and that's why the season felt so discordant. Also I think there were enough independent episodes, it's about the same amount as prior seasons, and there were lots of big moments centered around other characters as well, but it did focus on the main cast a little heavily for me as well. I hope we see an episode focused around Sweeps in the next season, or Ebra. I liked the side plot that was hiring the other guys to work the sandwich stand alongside him. Sometimes you just have to wait for the good thing, I think this season was trying to highlight that. The Fak's are goofy
Couldnt agree more whith your review. This was a transitión season it was about grief and letting go your demons . I hope this was the set up of an amazing season 4 like the legendary season 2. And yeah Richie, the soundtrack and tinas and sugar episode was the best of this season.
I think the series is still great. The characters are still great and still true to forum. Season 3 is less intense but it’s a nice breather and there’s still more to come. Make a British Bear and see how it does
One thing I thought was a big flaw in S3 was the continuity errors. I understand that they changed the timeline of Tina beginning working at The Beef to better fit the narrative of her episode, but it's very weird given that she suggested in S1 that she had been at the Beef for a long time, so in hindsight, it just feels like poor writing for them to retcon things like that.
When I watched this I decided I liked it a lot more than I disliked it, but yes, the pace was just way too slow for the whole season overall. Also, a quiet episode like "Tomorrow" could've made sense at the end of S2, but as the opening episode of a new season it was just way too tame for me.
The Only thing i dont want to happen is this show, is that thank to Claire, Carmy solves his problems. That would be so unreallistic. With all the trauma and wounds he has, having a girlfriend is not gonna solve anything. My bet is that in season 4, the uncle is going to shut the bear, and because of that, he will have to reflect on his life, what he really wants and then, changes might start to happen.
Honestly, most of the complaints can be summarized by The Bear /= Shameless anymore. Which like fair, but that was always a surface comparison. The Bear was always about overcoming Trauma but that isn't always exciting dramatically.
I think the observations about the Claire situation miss the mark a little. I think the emphasis is less on him being miserable and wanting a girl, and more about his unwillingness to actually let someone new in. His decision to not reach back out is a direct result of his trauma and anxiety. I think it does a good job of representing that he really does want to be happy, but he feels so dragged down by the past that he convinces himself that everything he does is doomed to failure. The only reason he has any hope for the restaurant is because he uses food as an avoidant coping mechanism to avoid dealing with his head. Claire is less of a person and more of a representation of the happy future that he refuses to let himself step into. I can see why that might make her less interesting as a character, but I think she does create a driving force for Carmen to actually confront his past.
personally i thought this season was brilliant. the show feels stuck because carmy is stuck. he never really left the freezer. both of the previous seasons have been about growth, progression, carmy helping people and working towards his dream of his own resturaunt. but when he gets locked in the freezer and ruins his relationship with claire, his character doesn't move forward, it steps back. his dream came true, but he's still unhappy, and he convinces himself that he cannot allow himself to be happy if he wants his dream to stay alive. he ignores everything that isn't in pursuit of perfection, pushing himself and the others as far as he can in a desperate attempt to prove himself. when he confronts his abusive previous chef at the ever funeral, he's finally able to realize just how much damage he's done to his relationships with everyone. the season ends on a sad note, but a hopeful one, and the "to be continued" serves as a way to tell the audience that carmy, and the show, has left the freezer, and is ready to once again move forward. for the record, i do agree that it wasn't nearly as satisfying as a season of television as the first one. while i think it was cool as hell, it did come at the expense of some people's enjoyment which is a bummer. and yeah the faks are a little much. but even after everything in this comment i still thought it was an incredible, engaging, entertaining season and i'm really excited to see where the show goes next.
The story might represent how Carmen's stuck but that doesn't make it enjoyable to watch for actual people sitting at home... well not me anyway. Just didn't work

While i do agree that the pacing is diff from season 2, it still thrives on the core of the show which is human emotion and how emotions dictate the actions of the characters in the show. From the different battles of anxiety within each character to the moments of compassion, even the lighter happier moments like the Faks. Might be an unpopular opinion but I think that it resembles life in some ways, you cant always be focused on what you do or be sad or anxious about whats happened or whats about to happen. There are also moments where your friends/family just come in and kick the shit with you cuz theres a bond there and I think thats what the Faks represented and they give light throughout the anxiety felt in the other eps.

Ok 2 things; f@ck you, I love Claire. She was the single best thing in Carmen’s life. Everything and everyone else caused him anxiety, mental anguish and stress. She was the stabilizer. And secondly, I disagree with regards to why Tina seemed more hostile in season 1 towards Sydney especially. After watching episode six, it was clear to me that that hostility was because she felt that time had passed her by. She felt hostile towards the younger generation in general because all the jobs were going to them when she was desperate. She felt like all her experience in life and the workforce didn’t matter , and here come these young f@cks and they’re already ahead of her. It was resentment and jealousy because the world has moved on from what she knew and she didn’t even notice until it was too late.
What I find amazing about Tina is that when she went to school she figured out yeah they do know a lot more about cooking. The technical side. She may know more about feeding and sustaining people, been doing it her whole adult life so it makes sense to feel like you know it all. It looked like she realized it's good to have both the experience she has and the schooling Carmy and Sydney have. It's good to have a foot in both worlds. Like the awe, determination, and pride she had in her school scenes was amazing to see. Great acting.
After Fishes I was ready to give up on the show Forks was to me the best episode of the series. Sort of a light at the end of a tunnel. Gave me enough steam to finish season 2. Season 3 was an absolute slog. Didn't finish it. No breathing room just chaos and misery. I have given up an a show I really did like.
The season reminded me of Toy Story 4. A strange analogy I know, but hear me out. Syd and Carm are like Woody and Buzz. And just like Toy Story 4 did, season 3 of The Bear didn’t have their two main characters interacting enough. Also, the new characters in this season of The Bear were like the new characters in Toy Story 4 - new characters that were there to add comic relief, but we’re not at all funny.
The constant soundtrack is too much for me. Yes, good songs but I feel like I’m in a dorm in the 2000s and that one person has to continuously play their music like they have such refined taste. It comes off as pretentious and melodramatic to me.
Completely Agree! Episode 1 was awesome. Last episode was epic with real great chefs. …. Poorly done though. Having to wait another Year for anything to actually happen?
Wonderfully acted. Beautifully shot. Too high of a budget. Could have done with less Faks. Shoehorned cameos. No character development. No resolved plot lines. A waste of time. Another victim of success.
Loved this, let's all be honest this season was bad. Difficult to watch at times (not in a good way), so *many* aimless scenes and set ups which was the icing on the cinematically pretty but poor tasting cake. I do hope you're right though and that it all set season 4 up really well. *BUT* the signs of hope were in - what is for me - the *best episode* The Bear has ever made in Tina's Episode.
I have it but haven't watched past the first episode yet... I'll probably do it later on when Im bored and in a good enough mood to annoy myself with other people's bullsh-t. Idk what it is but some of these characters are so frustrating that watching, for me at least, can sometimes be very aggravating. Still love it though.
The show excels at many things like showing the intensity of a busy restaurant and Carmy’s past trauma and panic attacks. Sadly this season was repetitive and felt like filler and set up for the next season
yeah tinas episode was the best. but yeah this season was just a set up filler season. for a whole season not much progressed like comparing to season 1 and 2 where he took over the shop and then opened a new one but here was a bit of faffing around definitely a different direction for sure. i hope season 4 concludes this whole thing at least where i think its building up to i dont want to see this get dragged out too much you know. richie the goat

This review was spot on. Too much faks, guest stars and chaos. Not enough relationships between the core characters Carmy, Sydney, Richie. The show was so endearing and it lost its heart.
Episode 6 was perfect though. Worth the investment in Tina and Mikey. Mikey is who is haunting Carm not as you put it - the character we care the least about.
I think they could of put the entire season three good bits in season fours first episode & done away with it entirely... Making it season three of course....💚🇬🇧🌱
That John Cena cameo was so distracting it took me out of the show.

I feel like the whole season could be edited in one 60 min episode and you wouldn't miss a thing.
Literally every scene could’ve been trimmed by a about 30 seconds and we would still get the gist of what was going on. I spent the entirety of the show going "wow! That was an extremely unnecessary long scene that could’ve been trimmed down”

Exactly. When you call something a Season, you are setting an expectation that there will be a beginning, middle and end for narratives within it and in regard that the Showrunner and Writers failed to deliver. It's not a surprise that its gotten slated according by the Audience reviews on RT.
Big time! At the ending cliff hanger my only thought was ‘so no story lines got resolved this season?’ It was definitely a set up for season 4 but I just wish they’d closed the book on at least 1 storyline so we’d have some satisfaction
What also didn't work for me was richie's unearned relationship with the staff at "Ever". He worked there for 1 week, yet he's invited to the closing over all the past chefs and other deserving people... and wayyyyy too much Faks this season.

@jbri1 I didn't like season 3, but even me, who has a small pastry business from home, know a lot of other pastry chefs and Pâtisseries all around my state. It does happen in gastronomy. You do get to know a lot of people and have sort of a familiarity with them, because they follow your work, or studied with you or studied in the same cooking school, etc
i like how they let Cast members direct a few episode same happened with Better call Saul each got to direct a whole episode
I kinda hate how people water down Carmy's mind set about Claire. It's not simple he lost his gf it's really about how Carmy decided to regress after season 2 finale. His toxic traits came to the for front cause his control of the restaurant was to supercede his lack of control of his emotions and how deals with them.
Sydney arc wasn't just being indecisive but going through the realization that maybe her dream of have a great restaurant with Carmy might not be viable. Because the environment he creates is very toxic but at the same time she loves the rest of the staff. Hence her starting to show similar issues that Carmy had while he was in a New York.

He also told Sydney that going for the stars makes people crazy and she said she wanted the stars. She helped push him into that mindframe and doesn't even realize it.
He is both avoiding his feelings about Claire by following Sydney's goal the only way he knows how (because he's both a traumatized person and the only one at the restaurant who has earned/helped to earn a star before).

@@RUclipsThrowaway-lj9vysydney didn’t force carmy to get a star and never gave him a timeline for when that goal was supposed to be achieved it’s simply something she wanted to happen at some point. carmen pushing for the star this season is less to do w sydney and more to do with him punishing himself for not being present in s2 when the gut was happening. the process of getting a star is undeniably stressful but in the finale we see him at the ever funeral surrounded by chefs operating successful restaurants w stars who have managed to do so w/o going about it in a manner similar to carmy. they even suggest in that episode that shitty leadership is the result of having had poor mentorship in the past, and that you yourself cannot be a good EC if you are modeling yourself after one that had been shitty to you like how david was to carmy. sydney harbors none of the blame for carmys behavior this season - that is 100% on him and his failure to properly cope w his trauma and overwhelming sense of guilt.
@desladiablesse I'm not saying it's her FAULT, but she is the one that gave him the goal. He wasn't interested in going after stars until Syd said she wanted it. He is 100% fighting to avoid his feelings, but she aimed him at the stars.
I'm also saying that he warned her it's difficult and makes people go kinda nuts and now she's all shocked Pikachu face like "Oh no this shit is difficult and is kinda driving people nuts" like the two situations definitely bleed into one another. She has the luxury of leaving the situation for what she thinks will be better (but may not be) which is what she's struggling with this season.
No one's decisions in real life only have effects on themselves. I'm not sure why a character on a show should be any different. People, as a whole, bleed together to a higher degree than many people realize. Nobody is ever "Only hurting themselves" with their decisions/actions.

spot-on. The issue is, a show that knows where it's going doesn't spend an entire season setting up the future. An episode or two is the right approach.

I found it stressful to watch at times. Too much arguing. The brothers added nothing but stupidity filler. Felt there was no direction.
In the previous seasons the stress felt warranted but this time it didn't have the same impact
For once, I’m glad they released all the episodes at once rather than weekly. The show continue to be shot beautifully, though it seemed to be wandering aimlessly for most of the runtime. Really hoping season 4 capitalizes on the abundance of setup that season 3 provided

They spent the entire third season sucking off the whole fine dining industry. It was chronically boring and nothing actually happened the entire season. We had entire episodes that were completely pointless and if you put the first episode, the episode with Richie learning how to do his job and the last episode together you literally miss nothing of importance in the entire season. It’s a dreadful show at this point
Season 1 and 2 were made not knowing if there was gonna be another season. Season 3 was made knowing there’d be a season 4. They got overly creative, dedicated episodes to back stories and fleshed the storyline out, simply because they knew they were coming back.
They absolutely deserved season 4 to be announced early, but the security has made the product worse.

The writers got lazy
Seems like they had a really really hard time getting all the actors together at the same time while filming on set. They relied on the Fak brothers way too much for content and filler in the last five episodes. You can actually probably count the number of times Carmie and Richie or on camera at the same time on a single hand.
Writers strike had to affect the show as well. Way too many flashbacks and scenes from past seasons. Feels like they were filming on limited time.
There was not enough Richie. I got to the end and realized I feel like I barely saw him.

I am genuinely worried that there's just nothing more left for Richie. Like his arc was to mature, he did that, and there's nothing more to it
I really liked Napkins and Ice Chips. I thought the acting and writing in each were great. But the other episodes all kinda blended in together. I agree with everything you said. Too many montages and flashbacks, too much telling and not showing, way too much Fak brothers and Claire, not enough independent episodes (one of the reasons I really liked Napkins and Ice Chips are that they did do this), and just a feeling that this was set up for the second half, which doesn't feel satisfying in and of itself.
It feels like a filler season. That would be fine.

Too many flashbacks, too much arguing, too much Flac brothers, too much Claire regrets. Not enough about the restaurant. But Jamie Lee Curtis put us through an emotional roller coaster - again - but brilliant! Carmey and Sidney always a mesmerising watch. Fingers crossed for Season 4 to nail it.
I personally didn’t think Season 3 was a drop off. You can only “oh no the kitchen is slammed” for so long. I really enjoyed getting Tina’s back story, Nat’s episode giving birth, Syd’s struggle to grapple with how fast her life is changing and conflict with new opportunities, even Ciscero opening up about “wishing he did more” with Michael. I did think we got a bit too much of the Fak’s, but not enough for me to think this season was a huge dropoff. I think Carmy and Syd’s stagnation was an intentional personification of the stalemate Syd was in deciding on the partnership agreement. This is the first real road bump they’ve hit, and they’re trying to figure out how to get through it. Also I really loved the finale. Carmy finally confronting the chef from NY, Chef Terry enjoying her final night amongst all the amazing chefs she’s shaped, and the Thomas Keller cameo were fantastic. Shows HAVE to depart from the usual formula at a certain point and I think when the show is complete Season 3 will make a lot more sense to most viewers.

When the guy talks about "lack of independent episodes", I mean, SERIOUSLY? Tina's, Sugar, even the first episode...all very watchable by itself. How da FUCK wasn't those episodes "emotional"? Carmy's breakdown at the finale, helloooooo!
Make sense? This isn’t a mystery or a science fiction show. It’s a drama. The writers failed to balance their character backstories with actual plot development, leaving most of us bored. It doesn’t take an Oxford graduate to see that the show lost its focus; a tv show is a series of episodes and each one counts. Season 4 isn’t required to make it “make sense”, season 4 is required to make it resemble a narrative.
Breaking Bad’s season 4 episode “Fly” demonstrated how to pause the plot and dive into backstory while still delivering an entertaining show. Of course one reason it worked is because it was an exception, and not the rule, but it also had a moment to moment energy from being grounded in SOMETHING happening in the present tense.
The Bear’s third season largely lacks motion, instead relying on commotion. They could have balanced the backstory with the daily grind but it seems the writers got tired of all the cooking. Maybe they realize now that it’s part of the show’s core appeal? I hope so.

I love this show but found this season tiresome. Trying to say a lot without saying anything. The montages got a little old. The only episode I really liked was Tina's.
Also, Sydney was not feeling left out, she was having serious doubts about going into business with Carmy because of this tunnel vision, hardheadedness and ridiculous behaviour. She is watching him run the restaurant into the ground. But that was also frustrating for me. I wanted her to speak up and she just said nothing
The Fak brothers and the general chaos became too annoying and nerve-wracking for me with no point at all.. it really was a stale step back. I also dont like the individual episodes, they are too slow to the point of pompous. They could focus on an individual character without so much exclusivety and boredom, and the fact that it's season 3 makes it worse, because the series can't get away with these tricks anymore, it should have evolved to a much more coherent and watchable state instead of running all kinds of circles...

Flawless analysis as always! I kept wondering throughout the season what are we doing and where are we going with the story... but I tolerate the slowdown for 1. They knocked out with the art and every filmmaking aspect just as good as the first two seasons, and 2. The small moments that paid off big, including the deep dive with Tina and that final electrifying Carmy confrontation.
One of the worst things about season 3 being so bad is we had to wait a long time for this season, so it's a letdown
You stated that Syd and Carm didn’t have much character development this season, but then you pointed out how their relationship transitioned from one where they are friendly and push each other to one where carm struggles to communicate and Syd becomes resentful of him. You said you didn’t like this, but this is clear character / plot development. This is why Syd’s job offer gave her so much anxiety.
What so many people have easily overlooked is the fact that Carmy had always had an inferiority complex! Despite the fact that the others around him consider him to be a gifted chef he has always felt that he is not good enough... The toxic environment in the kitchen is the result of this inferiority complex and has nothing to do with his overall personality! I mean the man literally took people on board who have no professional kitchen experience and expertise and made them realise their potential! Carmy's constant rant about how everything needs to be letter perfect is a manifestation of his own insecurity that he would fail miserably and let everyone else down!
Oh. And I want a Michelin star, so let's hire the faks... 👏👏👏

Seriously what is the point of Ricky Staffieri and Neil Fak's characters in this season. they were annoying AF, playing the same trick they did in the first season where it was a bit endearing. Now it seemed like they had no brain or any other social skills. They were pretty much Beavis and Butthead the entire time, with adding nothing to the story.
Thank you for calling that out. I honestly got to a point of getting irritated every time they came on.
Season three is about trauma, abuse, and the cycle of abuse, if you look at it through that lens a lot of your complaints are explained, how when Sydney attempts, many times in many episodes, to offer her ideas and help Camry grow he immeadiately shoots her down without thought, his stress for perfection to make his own dish, where his tormentor took his idea tweeked it and it was his. He repeats the abuse put on him and in the end Sydney sees the article and has a panic attack like Carmy in season 1. Sugar and how in that one episode it sums up her fears of her becoming her mother and fucking up her child, just like her mother. Why do you think we don’t see sugar after the birth of the child?! It definitely wasn’t settled, you see the uneasiness of sugars face in that final hug as she realizes the things her mom is saying like how sugar would be happy to not know her grand mother. Sugar will be in postpartum depression coping with this fear. How Ritchie is alone and dealing with loneliness. Definitely setting up four for a solid redemption arc all round.
This season was annoyingly too long... Its cleaely a setup for 4th season... Why did they have 10 episodes in that case??? It really dragged on by the end. Also season 2 did a much better job of making us understand the industry and community of fine dining world but the same concept in this season became very repeatative and a bit pretentious.

Richie has always been my favorite, the scene from last season when Carmy was stuck in the freezer actually made me emotional. Not like crying or anything extra but it struck a nerve.
When Carmy was screaming at him that they aren't really family "you're just obsessed with my family" or whatever it was, that hit hard. I also have no real family besides my child, everyone else is dead and I spend all my holidays with my best friend's family. We refer to each other as family (grandma, grandpa, cousins, etc). In theory, we are family but there's always that unspoken divide in practice and it sucks being the outsider.
My view is that this season shows that even when you take steps to grow (as most of the characters did last season) doenst necessarily mean life goes on the upside quickly you have to still brave the tough times
At least for how I view this season (not to make it sound like an excuse for bad writing), I feel the season was supposed to be the reflection of the characters we're following. For the past 2 seasons it has been nothing but growth and change but it comes to a certain point, especially in real life, that you just plateau and life feels stagnant. I feel that this was the season to do it. Realistically all the wrongs and internal problems everyone was facing for the past two seasons have finally caught up with them all. Examples like Carmy's past struggles with the chef that ruined his mental and don't forget the ending of season 2. Carmy for 2 seasons struggled with sharing his feelings and when he lost something that's so good for him, he threw it all away. There is no way he can fix that in just 10 episodes, let alone his relationship with Richie and Syd are other problems he has to deal with, and the restaurant as a whole. Carmy pushed all of it away as we clearly saw and it reflected the whole season hence why "nothing happened". In my eyes it was the writers way of showing what it is like to avoid your problems and with that comes no change. Look I agree the season felt like it had a lack of direction, but in my eyes I try to see it as an intentional because all of them are figuring out this big transition in their life. I haven't even mentioned Syd's built up emotions of feeling neglected, Richie's past life with his wife and the problems he had with Carmy.

That soundtrack, yes, spot on! I have been keeping both my eyes AND ears wide open simultaneously since the very first episode of the show. Christopher Storer has been on top of his game in every department, including being a music supervisor. This is an absolute masterpiece of sight and sound.
I agree with season 3 feeling different and I feel that's the point. The first season was hyperfocused on a yoing man who had lost his brother, a business that was already going under, and the pressure of having to just do better with no clue how to do it. It's the controlled chaos that drove S1&S2. I think S3 shows the progress of the characters and how they have developed as chefs and as people, for example; Syd talking to Carmy before he was about to explode during service for "moving too slow," T going from being fired to being inspired to creating a dish with the cauliflower. Yes the screaming is just who they are as a family but its the little things that people arent noticing or giving any thought to.

Driven only by career success usually turns someone into a walking powder keg that implodes in on itself. Chefs too often end their own lives when they live such imbalanced lives. We already saw what happened to Carmy's brother and the chef that emotionally destroyed Carmy. Is that what you want for Carmy?
For me, the 'Claire arc' is basically the only hope Carmy has of any happiness, so it's very important, but he keeps putting the restaurant first, so, A. I don't think it'll work out and B. He doesn't deserve her.
I especially enjoyed the first episode…there was so much to it with no words needed. No disappointment regarding this amazing series. Looking forward to Part 4❣️
I’m pretty sure they found this direction to be the best option to setup next season. This is probably wrong but I can see Syd taking the CDC position, Tina following her since Tina does not learn under Carmy but Syd’s calm demeanor when mentoring her. They gave every character their own stories which I understand can stunt the narrative….but again that’s why this show is so great. The amount of love and time they give to each character. Yes this season feels different but I do believe it’s really to setup an exceptional next season.

It was a bit head scratching after these two brilliant seasons. I haven’t had a rewatch to understand but a cursory stab was that the ligaments that made it so engaging frayed for me without an examination of what carried it in those first two seasons. I simply didn’t care as much which was confusing as these characters were so damn interesting. Hope 4 can sew it back together.

I understand why people is not comfort with this season. They slow down the pace, many unnecesary scenes which fill full episodes, backstory scenes that could have been solved with simple dialogues and an unclear development. Despite that, the plot is still there, they wanted to show us how despite having a better restaurant or business they're still struggling to settle not just with their new routine and changes but also with their personal life. Liked that they focused this time more on Carmy's origins and motivations to direct his new restaurant and how he's a gastronomy genius, but also that motivation is making him avoid the reality not just running the bussiness but also in his personal stuff and that is affecting his co-workers and family that also are tackling with their personal life. Resume, it's a decent season with many directing, writing and techincal fails, but with a clear and a realistic plot handled with great performances and great moments between main characters
I feel like I'm in the minority by saying that I didn't like the reconciliation between Sugar and her mother at all. We need to stop telling people that they have to repair their relationships with their abusive parents, and I thought The Bear would know better than this.
I accidentally watched the last episode of the season instead of the first. Didn’t know until I looked up episode discussions and was confused. Just goes to show how literally nothing happened all season.

Yeah...I've lost momentum, I took a break at SO3 EP07 unenthused, I took 2 weeks off......came back just finished Ep 8. It's weird....I sense I'm really suppose to appreciate EP 08.... I don't, so now I'm thinking I'm a Bad person being it was suppose to be an "In Depth Character Moment". I was going to finish off the Season today but I'll just take another couple weeks off.
Season 1 and 2 were both masterpieces that it's kinda hard to make it 3 in a row. But I agree, Season 3 feels more a set up.
I haven't watched this season YET, but the second season was so moving and had so many poignant scenes, my concern is the drama will be turned up to 100 on season 3 and ruin everything. Taking everything that made it great and saturating each episode rendering them nearly unwatchable which is typically what happens by the 3rd season of a show. Sounds like that's exactly what happened. Still gonna watch it though.

i think a lot of your complaints and the complaints in the comments were done on purpose, it did feel a little stretched but really that's how life is sometimes. i think it was intentionally trying to highlight waiting for things to happen, the debt with Cicero, the review, Sydney's decision, etc etc. I think everyone is attempting to get along, yet no one is seeing eye to eye and that's why the season felt so discordant. Also I think there were enough independent episodes, it's about the same amount as prior seasons, and there were lots of big moments centered around other characters as well, but it did focus on the main cast a little heavily for me as well. I hope we see an episode focused around Sweeps in the next season, or Ebra. I liked the side plot that was hiring the other guys to work the sandwich stand alongside him.
Sometimes you just have to wait for the good thing, I think this season was trying to highlight that. The Fak's are goofy

Couldnt agree more whith your review. This was a transitión season it was about grief and letting go your demons . I hope this was the set up of an amazing season 4 like the legendary season 2. And yeah Richie, the soundtrack and tinas and sugar episode was the best of this season.
I think the series is still great. The characters are still great and still true to forum. Season 3 is less intense but it’s a nice breather and there’s still more to come. Make a British Bear and see how it does

One thing I thought was a big flaw in S3 was the continuity errors. I understand that they changed the timeline of Tina beginning working at The Beef to better fit the narrative of her episode, but it's very weird given that she suggested in S1 that she had been at the Beef for a long time, so in hindsight, it just feels like poor writing for them to retcon things like that.
When I watched this I decided I liked it a lot more than I disliked it, but yes, the pace was just way too slow for the whole season overall. Also, a quiet episode like "Tomorrow" could've made sense at the end of S2, but as the opening episode of a new season it was just way too tame for me.
The Only thing i dont want to happen is this show, is that thank to Claire, Carmy solves his problems.
That would be so unreallistic. With all the trauma and wounds he has, having a girlfriend is not gonna solve anything.
My bet is that in season 4, the uncle is going to shut the bear, and because of that, he will have to reflect on his life, what he really wants and then, changes might start to happen.
Honestly, most of the complaints can be summarized by The Bear /= Shameless anymore.
Which like fair, but that was always a surface comparison. The Bear was always about overcoming Trauma but that isn't always exciting dramatically.
I wonder if in Season 4 they go back to their beef sandwiches and forget about all the fancy stuff.
I think the observations about the Claire situation miss the mark a little. I think the emphasis is less on him being miserable and wanting a girl, and more about his unwillingness to actually let someone new in. His decision to not reach back out is a direct result of his trauma and anxiety. I think it does a good job of representing that he really does want to be happy, but he feels so dragged down by the past that he convinces himself that everything he does is doomed to failure. The only reason he has any hope for the restaurant is because he uses food as an avoidant coping mechanism to avoid dealing with his head. Claire is less of a person and more of a representation of the happy future that he refuses to let himself step into. I can see why that might make her less interesting as a character, but I think she does create a driving force for Carmen to actually confront his past.
personally i thought this season was brilliant. the show feels stuck because carmy is stuck. he never really left the freezer. both of the previous seasons have been about growth, progression, carmy helping people and working towards his dream of his own resturaunt. but when he gets locked in the freezer and ruins his relationship with claire, his character doesn't move forward, it steps back. his dream came true, but he's still unhappy, and he convinces himself that he cannot allow himself to be happy if he wants his dream to stay alive. he ignores everything that isn't in pursuit of perfection, pushing himself and the others as far as he can in a desperate attempt to prove himself. when he confronts his abusive previous chef at the ever funeral, he's finally able to realize just how much damage he's done to his relationships with everyone. the season ends on a sad note, but a hopeful one, and the "to be continued" serves as a way to tell the audience that carmy, and the show, has left the freezer, and is ready to once again move forward.
for the record, i do agree that it wasn't nearly as satisfying as a season of television as the first one. while i think it was cool as hell, it did come at the expense of some people's enjoyment which is a bummer. and yeah the faks are a little much. but even after everything in this comment i still thought it was an incredible, engaging, entertaining season and i'm really excited to see where the show goes next.
The story might represent how Carmen's stuck but that doesn't make it enjoyable to watch for actual people sitting at home... well not me anyway. Just didn't work
@@jbri1 yeah that's 100% fair. i think it works great as a chapter of the story as a whole but as a season of television, especially compared to the previous two, it's a lot less narratively satisfying

While i do agree that the pacing is diff from season 2, it still thrives on the core of the show which is human emotion and how emotions dictate the actions of the characters in the show. From the different battles of anxiety within each character to the moments of compassion, even the lighter happier moments like the Faks. Might be an unpopular opinion but I think that it resembles life in some ways, you cant always be focused on what you do or be sad or anxious about whats happened or whats about to happen. There are also moments where your friends/family just come in and kick the shit with you cuz theres a bond there and I think thats what the Faks represented and they give light throughout the anxiety felt in the other eps.
Did the Faks really bring light? They stressed me out. I kept thinking, 'they're just making things worse!' and I can't understand a word they're saying
Ok 2 things; f@ck you, I love Claire. She was the single best thing in Carmen’s life. Everything and everyone else caused him anxiety, mental anguish and stress. She was the stabilizer. And secondly, I disagree with regards to why Tina seemed more hostile in season 1 towards Sydney especially. After watching episode six, it was clear to me that that hostility was because she felt that time had passed her by. She felt hostile towards the younger generation in general because all the jobs were going to them when she was desperate. She felt like all her experience in life and the workforce didn’t matter , and here come these young f@cks and they’re already ahead of her. It was resentment and jealousy because the world has moved on from what she knew and she didn’t even notice until it was too late.
What I find amazing about Tina is that when she went to school she figured out yeah they do know a lot more about cooking. The technical side. She may know more about feeding and sustaining people, been doing it her whole adult life so it makes sense to feel like you know it all. It looked like she realized it's good to have both the experience she has and the schooling Carmy and Sydney have. It's good to have a foot in both worlds.
Like the awe, determination, and pride she had in her school scenes was amazing to see. Great acting.
After Fishes I was ready to give up on the show
Forks was to me the best episode of the series. Sort of a light at the end of a tunnel.
Gave me enough steam to finish season 2.
Season 3 was an absolute slog. Didn't finish it. No breathing room just chaos and misery.
I have given up an a show I really did like.
This season was more for characters. To pause in their life and confront emotions. It's much needed for storyline's resolution.

The season reminded me of Toy Story 4. A strange analogy I know, but hear me out. Syd and Carm are like Woody and Buzz. And just like Toy Story 4 did, season 3 of The Bear didn’t have their two main characters interacting enough. Also, the new characters in this season of The Bear were like the new characters in Toy Story 4 - new characters that were there to add comic relief, but we’re not at all funny.
Ill def say Jamie Lee Curtiss did another killer performance.

The constant soundtrack is too much for me. Yes, good songs but I feel like I’m in a dorm in the 2000s and that one person has to continuously play their music like they have such refined taste. It comes off as pretentious and melodramatic to me.
Completely Agree! Episode 1 was awesome. Last episode was epic with real great chefs. …. Poorly done though. Having to wait another Year for anything to actually happen?
Wonderfully acted. Beautifully shot. Too high of a budget. Could have done with less Faks. Shoehorned cameos. No character development. No resolved plot lines. A waste of time. Another victim of success.

Loved this, let's all be honest this season was bad. Difficult to watch at times (not in a good way), so *many* aimless scenes and set ups which was the icing on the cinematically pretty but poor tasting cake. I do hope you're right though and that it all set season 4 up really well.
*BUT* the signs of hope were in - what is for me - the *best episode* The Bear has ever made in Tina's Episode.

Idk what it is but some of these characters are so frustrating that watching, for me at least, can sometimes be very aggravating. Still love it though.
The show excels at many things like showing the intensity of a busy restaurant and Carmy’s past trauma and panic attacks. Sadly this season was repetitive and felt like filler and set up for the next season

yeah tinas episode was the best. but yeah this season was just a set up filler season. for a whole season not much progressed like comparing to season 1 and 2 where he took over the shop and then opened a new one but here was a bit of faffing around definitely a different direction for sure. i hope season 4 concludes this whole thing at least where i think its building up to i dont want to see this get dragged out too much you know. richie the goat
