Desde que la escuché en Shadowhunters: City of Bones no he dejado de escucharla....años desde la primera vez que la oí y aun me llena de energía y me hace sentir joven again :'D La letra, ritmo y melodía..ARTE 🖤
If you had a day Would you give me a moment? Would you allow our play To leave no bone unbroken? Let's love like seventeen I'm in love with poisoning Only bring your pretty frightful gifts to me Let's love and kill like seventeen, now If I weren't so cold We couldn't freeze this moment And as we won't grow old We'll leave no heart unbroken Let's love like seventeen I'm in love with poisoning Only bring your pretty frightful gifts to me Let's love and kill like seventeen, now Tomorrow cannot be like this And even though it's such a sin, they will... Tomorrow cannot be like this Tomorrow they will take us in We'll leave no heart unbroken Let's love like seventeen I'm in love with poisoning Only bring your pretty frightful gifts to me Let's love and kill like seventeen, now Let's love like seventeen I'm in love with your new screams Only bring those pretty frightful things to me Let's love and kill like seventeen, now Let's run and kill like seventeen, now Let's love and kill like seventeen
The amount of people still complaining about how they've changed is infuriating. It's been 14 years since they released a "punk" album, and even that was in the process of moving towards the sort of sound we got in STS. Davey's 37, he's not gonna keep writing songs about how his mother won't let him get a mohawk.
To be honest , this song really remind me of my first days as an AFI fan ! When i first saw their old albums and i totally fell in love with them ! They never disappoint me and they helped me alot druring my darkest days , they were never emo , cuz emo is shit ! They are simply AFI ! A great band with great riffs , meaningful lyrics and deep messages ! They have the loyalest fans ever cuz they are loyal to their fans which is hard to find in nowdays bands .
I fell in love with Love Like Winter and AFI is one of three bands I buy the physical CD's for. The new CD seems like something I'll be able to get into, I can't wait to see them in concert next month.
I can't figure out why so many people are saying this doesn't sound like AFI. I think it does. Actually this reminds me of the AFI I fell in love with so many years ago when I first heard Silver and Cold.. almost 10 years now! And anyway.. I can hear Davey's lovely voice and that amazing beat is driving me crazy to the point of me wanting more!!! That's enough for me. I missed them. ❤ I can't wait for this album to be out!
I'm 41 and I'm just thankful we still have bands like AFI putting out the music they do. I know a lot of it may be my age, but I just can't get into almost any of the hip hop or top 40 type music that's out there anymore. I think everyone has certain albums/CD's/era's from any of their favorite bands. Since someone brought up the Cure, for example I like "Boys Don't Cry" era stuff best. Doesn't mean I hate or can't appreciate "Wish-Bloodflowers" etc. Just my 2 cents lol
The Art of Drowning is my personal favorite AFI album. Thank you for that awesome reference. Like a devil meant for better things, we will find our place on high.
It seems no matter the direction the band takes, there will always be those who disagree with them. AFI saved my life, i owe that and so much more to them. This song, and IHYS are pieces of gold awaiting in the final treasure chest. Bring it on boys. Forever a DF kid. Also Davey, smashing vocals..Jade: Your guitar skills are flaws. Hunter: That bass keeps my feet tapping and Adam, dear, You pound the drums with complete perfection. This song is just too perfect.
From the first time I saw AFI in '99 to this upcoming Halloween when I'll see 'em again, I've loved everything AFI has put out. They've grown and explored other styles, it really makes them a deeper band than most others. The Blaqk Audio project is great too, Semiotic Love is a great song.
I wasn't so keen initially, but it is certainly growing on me. The skill in this song is amazing! Am I the only one who thinks the drumbeat is slightly similar to that in Days Of The Phoenix? The bass is really rocking, the lyrics are supreme, and the guitar is awesome!
I first heard AFI on THPS 3, the song BWSTW, then DOTP later on, then GNG on MTV, and convinced my dad to buy me Sing The Sorrow in 2003. Worked my way backwards from that. I'm now 23 10 years later, I'm still in love with all AFI does. (and I do mean all of it. 91- to present 2013)
Something that I've learned about music, from being a long standing fan of AFI and from many other groups with as much history, --is that you have to let it be what it is.-- You have to take it as it is, and let it be new again. Music is much too fluid for the rigid confines we all too often try to place it in. If something is truly worthwhile you will come to realize it. STS will always be my favorite, dare I say of all time, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy today for what it is.
I love AFI because they re-invent themselves with every successive album. That's just part of the 'thing' of AFI. If you consider yourself a huge fan of AFI, then you understand and embrace that; you don't complain that it's not goth/punk or hardcore. I remember The Art of Drowning days and have stuck with them throughout, and this sounds no less 'AFI' than that did. Fairweather elitists will always complain, but the true fans will always remain (in shadows, growing wings).
This song was the best part of the Mortal Instruments movie. I actually danced in the theater when the credits came on. This is the only song in the movie that actually fits the tone of the book.
AFI is amazing!! I fall in love w/ every album in a different way. I'm definitely a Sing the Sorrow guy but I would venture to say that they get better w/ every release. Honestly, I grew out of the early punk stuff just as the band did. I'm no longer 15 and that music no longer resonates like it once did. People grow and mature artistically and if they didn't they would get left behind. You can't make adolescent punk music forever. Do you really expect a 37 year old man to sing about "cereal?
....and that attitude is exactly the reason why i gave the advice that i did. The fans that get attracted to the newer albums first and then the older stuff are probably the best fans because they love every single album and aren't caught up in this 'old AFI' 'new AFI' bullshit. Every song on every album so far has been fucking amazing
I loved AFI since my friend convinced me to buy Answer That and Stay Fashionable from pawn shop for 5 bux when I was 16. For some reason, I loved the changes to their sound, which is odd because this kind of music usually makes me scoff. Although I would love another Very Proud of Ya (maybe my favorite album ever), I really like this.
YES. I totally agree. I remember when Reiver's Music came out, and my mind was blown. It's a shame that neither of the songs from the 336 EP have turned up anywhere else (or even songs with similar style). It was a lovely stopgap/bridge between Art of Drowning and STS, though.
I wound up watching Mortal Instruments late one night(nothing else on), found it to be a pretty good movie despite me not being the target audience, heard this over the end credits thinking good song, oh shit new AFI, yes.
I hate how people say this sounds like something from Crash Love, just cuz that album gave me weird vibes but this song takes me back to when I got into AFI
Art of Drowning or Sing the Sorrow take your pick but those are good ablums that go into almost what they would be (like now) and some old stuff (punk and hardcore)
I'm a huge fan of all types of Metal and Punk! AFI are about as epic and Diverse as the Band The Cure! That is a huge accomplishment in my humble opinion. Only difference is that Robert kept his hair style the same and Davey loves rocking new dews LOL
reminds me of Darling I want to destroy you; one of my favs from CL... I'm diggin the variety already from the upcoming album. October 22nd 2013!!! Can't wait :D
Thanks, I'm just getting tired of the die hard fans that gave up two albums ago. If they really feel AFI's "failure" or "sellouts" are that much of a personal bullet to the heart, the old material made special for them is still their at their disposal. If you do not like the current material, move on to something else.
Loved AFI like 5 years ago but thanks to Mortal Instruments, I love them all over again!
I'm so happy they are releasing a new album. I love this song and "I hope you suffer" is also really great.
Wow! I'm falling in love with my favourite band all over again!!
Outstanding. I love their ability to change their sound every album but still remain distinctly AFI. This album is going to be great.
Desde que la escuché en Shadowhunters: City of Bones no he dejado de escucharla....años desde la primera vez que la oí y aun me llena de energía y me hace sentir joven again :'D

This sounds like the AFI I loved. They still manage to have "it." I like this.
The amount of people still complaining about how they've changed is infuriating. sing the sorrow. classic, lovely, poetic afi.
To be honest , this song really remind me of my first days as an AFI fan ! When i first saw their old albums and i totally fell in love with them ! This song makes me feel like i could run forever :)
I've been waiting almost 10 years to see them, and this year it's finally happening!
I love you guys
I fell in love with Love Like Winter and AFI is one of three bands I buy the physical CD's for. The new CD seems like something I'll be able to get into, I can't wait to see them in concert next month.
Davey has done the vocals of AFI for 22 years now.
This song was just perfection. They did a good job on the ending with it!!👍
Yep, even more excited for this album now. Great thing to wake up to. :) October 22 is far too far away.
BANGING SONG! It's like an 80's new wave asskicker. GREAT work boys! See you in Pomona!
I'm sold, looking forward to October!
I can't figure out why so many people are saying this doesn't sound like AFI. I think it does. Definitely reminds me of the older stuff. I can't wait and don't want to wait to see them in St Louis and get the albumn!
I'm 41 and I'm just thankful we still have bands like AFI putting out the music they do. New Pearl Jam; new AFI! What a great couple of months for top bands releasing new albums!
The Art of Drowning is my personal favorite AFI album. Thank you for that awesome reference. Like a devil meant for better things, we will find our place on high.
So good. So So good.
Great song! Can't wait for the new tour to start!
Love it guys, I don't have words to describe this song... you are amazing!
Took a few listens but I love it. Hunter sounds absolutely amazing on the bass too.
I love this song, I am glad my favorite band of all time is back. Anthems For Insubordinates Forever!
It seems no matter the direction the band takes, there will always be those who disagree with them. AFI saved my life, i owe that and so much more to them. Hello hello new song!! :) Love it!
Every single song of this guys is perfect!
I'm actually really loving these, lots.
The first listen of this song it really didn't do much for me, but after giving it a day and another couple of listens this song is just amazing.
Thank you for supporting AFI! This band really, really rocks...!!
Come to see my acoustic cover of Aurelia, please. ❤
SO excited for the new album!
great song!!!
I'm glad you're back guys! I love you
awesome
I first heard AFI on THPS 3, the song BWSTW, then DOTP later on, then GNG on MTV, and convinced my dad to buy me Sing The Sorrow in 2003. Worked my way backwards from that.

New AFI album, new NIN album, new Trivium album, new Korn album, new Franz Ferdinand album - wow, this yea's gonna be awesome for music !
Lovin hunter's bass parts in this one!
Love it, this is what I want to hear!
Can't even wait to see this live.
Nailed it again AFI, keep it coming =)
This song reminds me The Cure in some points, but with more energy. I will buy this album. Can't wait for another songs.
This album will be a great album.
This song was the best part of the Mortal Instruments movie. I actually danced in the theater when the credits came on. This is the only song in the movie that actually fits the tone of the book.

I honestly am starting to feel like this was the record to bridge Decemberunderground and CrashLove. Regardless, so far it's wonderful.
....and that attitude is exactly the reason why i gave the advice that i did. The fans that get attracted to the newer albums first and then the older stuff are probably the best fans because they love every single album and aren't caught up in this 'old AFI' 'new AFI' bullshit.
Every song on every album so far has been fucking amazing
Punky beat, love it
LOVE THIS SONG SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU GUYS IN NOVEMBER
Life is so good right now.
It made me think of Beautiful Thieves too. AFI does have a habit of tying in little stories and mysteries to their songs and albums. :P
I won't be able to sleep for two months...seeing these glorious men on Halloween. So fucking stoked.
As a huge fan of their old stuff I actually like this! It's really good
I loved AFI since my friend convinced me to buy Answer That and Stay Fashionable from pawn shop for 5 bux when I was 16. For some reason, I loved the changes to their sound, which is odd because this kind of music usually makes me scoff. finally....come on tour boys...waiting,,,,greets from germany
Definitely!!
all i have to say AFI you never disappoint me !
I've been waiting for this new album for far too long now.
Which album would that be?
YES. I totally agree.
I remember when Reiver's Music came out, and my mind was blown. It's a shame that neither of the songs from the 336 EP have turned up anywhere else (or even songs with similar style). It was a lovely stopgap/bridge between Art of Drowning and STS, though.
That was a great EP
Love it! To me, it sounds like a hybrid between Decemberunderground and Crash Love.
This is perfect I love it so much
Oh my god... I remember the first time I listened to them in 1999... That's how I feel right now.
That being said, the two tracks from this album so far feel way more like old AFI :D
Going to see these guys for my 4th time on 9-16-13 in Cleveland, I can't fucking wait.
Art of Drowning or Sing the Sorrow take your pick but those are good ablums that go into almost what they would be (like now) and some old stuff (punk and hardcore)
I miss AFI, wish they still made music
AFI I love you, I cant stop singing ....If you had a day,
would you give me a moment?
Would you allow our play
to leave no bone unbroken?
That moment when I hear the song on the radio and my faith in humanity is restored.
very nice song
Very well stated Marty
I'm a huge fan of all types of Metal and Punk! AFI are about as epic and Diverse as the Band The Cure! That is a huge accomplishment in my humble opinion. Only difference is that Robert kept his hair style the same and Davey loves rocking new dews LOL
I loved IHYS right away but this song is just and okay pop sounding AFI song.
Jamie bower Campbell, Lily Collins, Kevin Zegers Robert Sheehan ❤❤❤❤
Very catchy!!
the song from the pandemonium club is called Calling From Above and its already out :)
Can't wait for halloween day, i already bought tickets! (Haven't received them yet tho...)
You said it brotha!
Couldn't agree more!
I understand, but I still wish he'd once in a while write an old song. AFI doesn't have to change completely.
reminds me of Darling I want to destroy you; one of my favs from CL... I'm diggin the variety already from the upcoming album.
October 22nd 2013!!! Can't wait :D
In love !
Plus the change has been a coherent evolution. Besides, the core of their style still remains there in my opinion.
I cosplayed as Android 17 at MomoCon this year in Atlanta :)
I agree but it still sounds like also something new and fresh at the same time :)
Thanks, I'm just getting tired of the die hard fans that gave up two albums ago. If they really feel AFI's "failure" or "sellouts" are that much of a personal bullet to the heart, the old material made special for them is still their at their disposal. It sounds a lot like their older work
love it!!
1:53 gives me chills! "and even though its such a sin my love"
I like it.
so much better than the other one!
