They saved money, invested money, and/or found deals to pay for the experiences in cash (even if they used a credit card, the cash was already fully available to pay back, no debt) before leaving home to enjoy the experiences. They also are not people that believe they need to have expensive items in every aspect of their lives. They chose travel over a range rover or fine dining and culinary experiences over a 5,000sq ft home. The wealth level is less significant with this type of mindset and way of living.
In our western North Carolina mountains community we just had the October event that was featured on international media - LONGEST pumpkin roll! Over 4000 visited us last Saturday! We also are a host city for the thousands doing the Appalachian Trail. I teach preparedness and survival skills in these majestic Smokies!
