I think most people don't get that Glee isn't trying to upstart the bands / singers that they cover, they're just covering because it's a fun thing. If you watch someone perform it at a talent show are you going to say, "You did ok, I guess, but John Legend did it so much better?" No, of course you're not.

I have seen so many comments about how this version will never live up to the original. We get it, you just Love Freddie Mercury. Rightly so. He was an amazing musician and composer. No one is saying that he wasn't. What people are saying is that stylistically this version of the song appeals more to them. I am a chior kid. I love the sound of a nice full chior singing well. That is why I perfer this version. Yes, I know that they use auto tune. I don't reallu care. So do alot of the greats. No one sounds as good live as they do on recording. (accept for maybe Adel) I think this is stylistically the best cover of this song that I have ever seen (no, I do not count freddie mercury singing it ac apella as a cover). I'm not trying to rant, I'm just trying to say that I love this version. The energy is infectious and it makes me happy. I don't get that feeling with the original. But that is my opinion. It's not hurting anyone so why should you feel the need to tell me that I'm wrong? thats all I have to say on the matter.
