    I don't blame King Randor for being angry since Man-At-Arm, Orko and his wife Queen Marlena have kept him in the dark that Prince Adam is really He-Man this whole time. But he really shouldn't take his anger out on Man-At-Arm and Orko by punished or bandished them from the palace because it wouldn't bring back his son Adam which result of him becoming a bitter person. I might have a theory about this scene that the reason why Savage He-Man headed straight towards Randor's camp in the mountain because maybe part of Adam's mind wanted to see his parents again.

      The original Filmation King Randor would have accepted his son had his reasons that if too many people he cared about knew his secret of being He-Man, they would become targets. Randor would have been proud and respected Adam's choices and that he was a true prince protecting the people of Eternia time and time again knowing the risks he always took. This is why the 80s will always be unofficially known as "The last age of Heroes"

If he continues to hold onto this grudge then may God forgive me I will have to result to something that will break my heart even more. Resulting to ending my relationship with my father and never allowing him to be a part of my life not even my future wife's life or our children. Frankly, I think the overall series is great. All of the characters' motivations made sense. Uh... Randor has said that he was proud of Adam. He said that multiple times in the original show. And he has said that he loves his son. This is why I still consider this to be an alternate timeline. Events contradict what we saw in the original show too much. It's not a bad show (even though it had a rocky start), it's just that I don't consider it to be the same timeline.

    • @EternalRoman
      @EternalRoman 8 месяцев назад

      It IS an alternate universe, it cannot be a sequel to the original Filmation series because it this one is made by Netflix and it belongs to them, as the Filmation one is obviously property of Filmation. Legally this one cannot be a sequel to the original Filmation series in any shape or form.
      There are a total of 4 separate series, each belongs to their respective studios. Filmation, 1993 The New Adventures of He-Man belongs to another studio which I don't remember the name, and it too tried to be sold as a sequel to the Filmation one, but couldn't because of said legalities, then the 2002 MOTU Mike Young Productions, and this Netflix series.
      Each series can be appreciated for their own merits, and criticized for their flaws... Like Ice cream, each a flavor for different tastes.

    • @SBaby
      @SBaby 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@EternalRoman To correct your first mistake there, Filmation is actually owned by L'Oreal, and they have licensed He-Man and She-Ra to various companies over the years. But the PROBLEM is that Kevin Smith actively advertised this series as being essentially a sequel series to the 80s cartoon, which is blatant false advertising. This is why it's been criticized so hard. If he would've just been honest and said it's more of a 'What-If' story instead of lying about it, I think it would've been better received. Instead, because he touted this as a sequel to the 80s cartoon, any real discussion of the series requires comparison to such.
      As it is, this is undeniably the most un-He-Man show out of any He-Man cartoon ever made. You have Randor flying off the rails when Adam presumably died, and banishing his BEST FRIEND as a result, Teela acting like a whiny entitled brat, and characters being utterly incompetent at their job. This is not a good series, no matter how you look at it. They are not acting like Masters of the Universe.
      And you can be a Kevin Smith apologist until you're blue in the face, but you won't change this fact.

The difference of me saying that each MOTU series is like "Ice Cream of different flavors..." is a way to address the fact that, yeah, there are many people that like this hot mess of a garbage series and just because I hate this series, I cannot deny the fact that people do like it and I didn't know if you did or not, so I was being respectful. But I don't know if you read well, I never said anything positive on this series at all on my previous comment, in fact I didn't say anything regarding my liking the series or not.
      But, to be absolutely clear, my definite favorite series is the 2002 Mike Young Productions series, cause it was more serious on all of the characters and it definitely was an improvement on the line. If I do have to say anything remotely positive on this Kevin Smith vomit, it's just the Animation is good, some of the designs too, but I even hate the voice acting. And I much prefer the more Barbarian look of He-Man and the rest in the 2002 series.
      Now, next correction my MOTU brethren, MATTEL is the actual owner of the MOTU brand, and THEY are the ones that license MOTU to the different series companies. Sure, D'Loreal may own Filmation, but they don't license MOTU. They, like the companies I mentioned before, own their respective series right, but the overall owner of the MOTU brand is Mattel.
      What do I agree with you? exactly what you said about the promotion of this Netflix show, but not a "What if...?" perse, but simply "An Alternate version INSPIRED on the 80s series" cause yeah, Kevin Smith was being more than a grifter, he was being for MOTU what Kathleen Kennedy is for Star Wars, and for me, the damage is done, cause yeah, personally the next season may now apparently have He-Man as the center of the series, but all the mess of the characters is done, and the stench of Smith is not off this project. So in conclusion, never assume that if a person doesn't directly address something as being necessarily being the opposite of what you may think, some people just try to be respectful, that's all. And sorry for the book long explanation.

      @@EternalRoman The only thing you said in your previous post is each series can be appreciated for its merits and criticized for its flaws. That's why the last part of my comment was there. If you'd clarified that in the comment, I never would've said that.
      The correction remark was for the part where you said Filmation owns 80s MotU. Not only is this not true, but Filmation doesn't exist anymore. When it was bought by L'Oreal, they immediately shuttered the company, likely because they were only interested in the rights to the properties that Filmation owned at the time.
      They did this hastily because it was literally two days before legislation would pass requiring companies to give employees 60 days' notice before a mass layoff or termination. According to an interview some years back, the animators were just told to put their pencils down and get out.

      @@SBaby Yeah, my expression on merits and critiques of all the series is a way to show that even when one can hate a series and love another, all of them are in the eyes of fans. Yes, I cleared that I hate the Kevin Smith garbage series, and yet, though minimal, I did also say about what I saw as positive. That is my way of showing objectivity in light of Subjectivity, because I respect people even when I may not agree with them.
      It's a principle that I don't let go because not only gives me peace, but also I get the chance to discover people that though may differ in ideas and thoughts with me can be very rational (a diminishing attribute on these days) if they maintain a healthy discussion, which I think you and I are having. I don't like to insult other people unless I am insulted, cause it shows the quality of a person's mind when they have to sink so low, hence I try to respect their liking and I didn't know if you hated the Netflix series or not either.
      Now yes, D'Loreal owned Filmation, and Filmation closed, but they didn't sell the rights of their MOTU series to Netflix, meaning again that Netflix still cannot claim that their show is a direct sequel to the Filmation series because that is illegal and they know it. To me, that was the first backlash, and then everything else that followed. Now on a separate but not so separate note, if the 2002 series would be either continued or concluded with the Animation of this series but retaining its 2002 designs, I would not complain... Unless Kevin Smith would get involved somehow... Urgh...

    I really wish they'd managed to get the rights to original 1984 show or even the 2002 remake and continued one of them. While this show wasn't bad it was some sort of weird hybrid of the two that never quite meshed together properly to me.

      The 1984 show is too campy and young child focused. the original "I have the Power" scenes would also have to be handled with care, because that tends to get repetitive.

    Original He-man was pure shit...in every regard.
    This show, is mostly passable, but not especially good (except in a few instances, like this one).
    But it's still way better than the original. Back in the 80s as a kid, I'd only watch it waiting for other shows to come on. Basically, purely for lack of anything better at that specific moment. I preferred Thundercats and Transformers, but not by much. The more I look back, the more I remember just how much everything sucked. Not that there's really been all that much improvement, if any at all.
