Gender equality? Far as I know, Nigeria recognizes two genders: Male and Female. I'm not a law expert but consider it expedient to specify explicitly the two acceptable and recognized genders in Nigeria by Nigerians. Period!

For your information there is a strong correlation between gender equality and economic development. It has a simple global statistical knowledge that country with low female participation in their socio economic life are the least developed.
