Hi, can I please ask what is the name of the plant, that is used? and I happy to see that there are still traditional skills in Japan. I think traditional skills should be a treasure for every country and something not to forget.
The plants used to make the paper are called kozo (paper mulberry). The sticky liquid is called neri made from tororo-aoi (the root of a species of hibiscus).
If you've never made paper before you should try it out. I haven't made my own paper in years. It's not too difficult. You can even turn old blue jeans into paper.
This video was so relaxing to watch, but the train shot was GLORIOUS! I brought back the same fwelings of magic Studio Ghibli gave me as a teen. ❤
