I always advice women who get cheated on to remember Shania Twain. Her husband of 15 years cheated with Shania's best friend, and wanted to split up to start a relationship with her. Shania was devastated, and at one point begged her husband not to leave her. But he did and moved on with his mistress. What happened? Shortly after the divorce, Shania met this sexy Swiss-French hunk (a MAJOR upgrade from her ex) and they live together in paradise. The lesson here is if your husband wants to leave, let him. The sooner he leaves, the sooner you'll find your Swiss-French dreamboat.

He should have divorced her before he cheated (Meredith should have also divorced her husband). He absolutely should have ended things before making Jennair pack up and move to him. If Jennair would have killed just Mark and herself Im sure many people would not be defending him as being just a victim. And Meredith is just as responsible for the affair as Mark. If he wants to leave, let him go. After my husband left I was in agony. My father had always been my rock and two years after my husband had left, my father died suddenly. My last conversation with my father was me still crying over my ex-husband. I realized I had spent two years surrounded by people who loved me, focused only on someone that didn’t. I learned not to waste our precious time on those who don’t love us.
Just let that person go, let yourself grieve, and then let yourself heal.

The fact that they were living together and he was ''spending quality time'' with Jenaire right up until the end of his divorce, and that she got so upset about that condom leaves room to assume he was in an intimate relationship with both women at the same time and may not have been honest with them both. I don't know. It sure sounds like Mark and Jenaire were over, but she just refused to accept it. She did everything she could to try and keep him from leaving, even though it was clear he didn't want to. I think Jenaire and Mark may not have lasted, and Meredith might have moved on with her life and met her true love...but she had some kind of mental illness that prevented her from seeing a better future.

Even if he was not with Meredith, she would never trust him again. I've been in that situation, like not recording, just finding messages from other women and it hurts so bad, it's awful and it does drive you crazy, specially if you obsess over it. But she took it super far. She should have stopped, not for him, but for herself. She only hurt herself, she already knew what she needed to know, so what is the point of listening to it over and over? It's tempting, but in the end it's only self-destructive. No, she was jealous. Both of those things can be true. She can feel betrayed, heartbroken and backstabbed while also being jealous. I have never had mental health issues, but for 2-3 weeks after finding out about the infidelity I was on the brink of a mental breakdown. One of the contributing factors was lack of sleep. I hardly sleep for almost 3 weeks. I said things to him I’m not proud of. After starting medication to help sleep, I was better the next day. I think lack of sleep was probably one of her biggest issues. 😢

Who knows, maybe your partner will even be okay with you cheating. But its always okay to get out of a relationship if you dont want to be in it, and its never okay for your partner to do something you dont want them to, even with small things like making jokes about you, or getting mad at you because you look at random hot people, or telling you that you cant go see your friends. And if you don't catch yourself, you can fall into a full on downward spiral into crazy town. I personally thought about utilizing the spyware, recording devices, etc. It makes you feel crazy, and that can certainly lead to snapping. Luckily, I made the decision to just walk away. If they are cheating, it isn't worth your time, energy, freedom, or life. Now I am of the mindset that if I feel the urge to snoop, the relationship is probably over. This is an unnecessary tragedy. I think he should have compensated her for her making the move to a different state, and upsetting her life that way. But he couldn't force himself to love her if he just wasn't feeling it anymore. That's what Jenaire just couldn't accept. It infuriated her that he actually found a young, beautiful, intelligent, successful woman who loved him. She thought she had the upper hand in the relationship all those years. I think that's what pushed him away. I'm tempted to buy his book.

It happened to me 😢 the love of my life left me for the girl he told me “not to worry about” basically, I had my suspicions, but I trusted him with my whole heart. We have 2 girls, and he left us all and went to be with the girl 10years younger than him and I. 3 years later and I’m still mourning and grieving the person that used to exist. I just found out today…they just had a baby, I had no clue, he left me 2 weeks after I had a miscarriage. It’s like a million needles piercing my head and heart every time something reminds me of what my life used to be. My poor girls feel so abandoned because he’s got “the family he wanted, not the family he had”
      It’s really tough I tell ya 😐

Happened to me... now in my 40’s, a single mom with lupus, he remarried, had a baby, and then they divorced. I’m much better, but it’s been about 8 years. Still depressed, lonely, and regret so much. I see how someone can fixate on the new woman as I did, but in the end, it rarely lasts and you see it was him all along.

Meredith’s ex and Jennair should have forgiven, let go, moved on, and found new relationships.

If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were. I feel like it all comes down to destiny and finding your soulmate. Mark and Jennair were not destined to stay together, and were not soulmates. They were never meant to be. Jennair couldn't accept this. She should have let him go and moved on with her life. She probably would have found someone who made her happier than Mark ever did. But she had some kind of mental illness. People get divorced everyday and move on with their lives. It's painful. It hurts. It feels like your life has ended. But you've got to show some self-respect....you can't force someone to love you and you can't force someone to stay with you against their will.

The husband of the woman she killed now has to have the anger and betrayal of her cheating and leaving him and now has to grieve her loss. Very complicated emotions. He is the true victim of this story as he was able to control himself as an adult. Meridith was clearly having a mental health crisis and was experiencing severe depression if she was willing to take her life and the sad thing is I feel like if she was able to get the help she needed no one would have died but as someone who has suffered with depression for years I am not dangerous and I would never kill someone who wronged me. Women who are being lied to and betrayed like this get obsessed with finding out the truth and get very vindictive. He basically mentally tortured Jennair and made her seem like this awful person while basically making it a love letter to Meredith. He even dedicated the book to her. Thankfully there are some passages where Meredith's true colors shine through showing how callous she truly was (not just to Jennair but her own husband) still overall she is painted as a victim and not at all culalpable for the murder.
