      he just lost his wife, and had to father 6 children alone, baelor is the only brother who look after him and his children while he is grieving, then suddenly you lost your brother by your hands and the reason is the foolishness of your own son. Ofcourse he will be broken. MAEKAR is a STEEL HAMMER, he won't bent, but can break

    I wonder why those series are so short but still manage to feel so heavy. It's odd, it pressed everything well together, love the show more than 95% of the current state of tv shows. 3,5hrs for 1 chapter... could have been 5hrs.... lol 😅 still a 10/10 from me.

      Season 2 will likely have regular hour episodes. Im sure they saved costs on this season so they can wrap up HOTDs final 2 seasons.

      It's one of the best shows I've seen since breaking bad. Soo good, and even trumps the early (1-3) got seasons for me

    all those stab wounds healing nicely i see....

    • @travisanderson77
      @travisanderson77 24 days ago +7

      Likely because most of them were shallow, due to the armor. When Aerion is stabbing Dunk with his dagger, you only see it go in about 2 inches, as it's caught in the chain-mail. The only two significant stabs he suffers are from the lance and when Aerion threw his sword: the former was deep but likely missed his vitals due to the shield, the latter wasn't an artery, but the meat of the the thigh. I think that there's a decent amount of time between the tourney and Dunk leaving, because we see several members of House Targareyn at the funeral, which required some travel time allowing all the wounded time to recover. This is miles above that time Arya got stabbed multiple times in the guts and got thrown into some nasty water, seemingly perfectly fine the next episode lol

    Maekar offering Egg as Dunk’s squire reads less like kindness and more like control: “You’re done with princes? Cool-then I’ll put one on your hip anyway.” If Dunk accepts, he’s tied to the royal family whether he wants it or not. If he refuses, he’s insulting the man who can ruin his life.

    • @TrevorJohnson-o1d
      @TrevorJohnson-o1d 24 days ago +15

      Maekar agreeing to let Egg be Dunk’s squire is Maekar acknowledging that he has failed as a father with his two older sons.
      He wants Egg to be different than his brothers.

    • @lubdubdub12644
      @lubdubdub12644 24 days ago +11

      Nah bro. Maekar regrets that things came to be as such and hates that he lost his brother. He wishes to make amends so he sends Aerion to Lys and asks Dunk to join his personal guard with Egg as his squire, but Dunk says being the squire of a hedge knight would be better for Egg because he would get to see the world and live with the common folk so he doesn't become a spoiled brat like Aerion.

      @TrevorJohnson-o1dat least he understood that he failed with his 2 sons and let his golden boy ride with sir duncan

    • @mcmewsen
      @mcmewsen 24 days ago +4

      This was no punishment for Dunk. This was Maekar acknowledging what his deceased brother had already seen: that Dunk was a good man, and that Egg would also become a good man under his care.
      Maekar's failure as a father cost him a son (exiled) and a brother--he didn't want to mess up another.

    It sucked. All sulking and no action sequences. He basically gets stabbed a bunch and falls on the guy. I donno, maybe they could of actually shown the Trial by Seven instead of a twenty minute flash back.
