I knew about the Asura spam and wasn't too intrested but you definitely opened my eyes a lil more about the potential fun of Blue Mage and I'll definitely give it a shot now bc it does look fun using the different skills..one suggestion i would make is that -Ability Cost have diminishing returns so it may be more helpful to add some LB duration, i use Knighbringer alot too so its really helpful and its def a stat you feel in your gameplay
Yes thats true but since I mostly always chain cancel and soul burst from the secondary job and since we have cyclic warrior we get lightbringer duration increased with each soul burst
Azure Lore is amazing. I have gotten 2 lucky drops with mp cost down 7 for blue mage which puts me to almost 100% allowing me to slot in more increased efficiency. I also like that you are promoting one of my favorite reasons to always sub thief as a sage and blue. Infinite potions, mana, and monster abilities. I have also started working to change my blessing over to Bahamut and trying to find ways to take full advantage of liberator 600 when I'm playing with other people on Blue Mage floor 100 farms. Currently all my blue gear has +str agi int. Lionheart accessory with str int agi sta for invincible and affinities I'm doing 600 lib. 400blm, 400pld, 250ish thief, 400 summoner, 250ish sage and 200ish tyrant. I'm using an Axe bc its the highest raw damage I can get even though I lose about 10-15% on the CEs, I can get affinities to just over 300 on the axe. With monster buffs easily over 400. Trance soul from summoner allows me to tank any boss all day long without losing my buffs during invincible. Command abilities I'm using are Azure Lore, mp regen, lunatic/provoke. My damage is still good enough to solo bosses, my durability is amazing and my raw stats are high enough to make my companions hit pretty hard, in a group the people I've played with to test it out are getting very noticeable damage increases. Now to build a liberator set using mostly the same setup. Edit: my theif job has all duration/mp cost down on gear, buff duration, LB duration, luck. Affinities are knight 400 pld 400, whm 400. The accessory that gives the rune knight 400 passive. Everything else is just slotted to keep my Ultima/evocation at 1300+

I used a lot of Tempest and Dark Cannon, also experimented with Poison gas since it spreads over a distance. Thanks for the advice. Any advice for a player that uses dimensional bringer over light bringer, and no soul shielding. I use blue mage and sage class.
Don't quote me on this, but I heard that on this patch the "bonus stat" 250 affinities like Breaker and Assassin don't stack, the game just picks whichever stat is highest before applying them and gives you the bonus to that stat only, so the WMG250 here wouldn't be doing much.
Can you do a video on where you actually put the master points when building your blue mage,an would ninja work for your secondary for maxing your mp gauge quicker when starting a mission in the rift?

Can't you charge each spell to level 3 just like normal magic? But it's better to just spam level 1 charge instead, then?

Hm, build is nice and all, but how do u boost max mp from scratch? For example u go into "boss rush portal". The very 1st boss can oneshot u, while u have no bringer on. I think the only option is to use elixir, which is quite expensive gil wise (i dont have millions right now, I can only afford like 70-80 elixirs). And even if u have money, u might be limited in the linked portals. 1-3 u cover with elixirs and mega elixir. But what next? With some builds u need a lot of mana to start, but it's kinda menagable. But this build consumes max mana. Outside of rift it's probably worth to swap thief to ninja, for max mana building. Inside the rift... Well it's not always comfortable to do ninja swaps to get max mana during boss fight, right? May be u can go double blue mage with summoner affinity and do few casts with swaps at start, but then again - 1 mistake and u die. And then painful recovery Just to be straight - again I think build is nice, but I wonder how people are dealing with max mana boost. I see some downsides and don't want to rely on elixirs (don't get me wrong I use them, but proper "spin to win set up" can be handled without much max mana (using parry mp recovery)
In the rifts if you are boss rushing then yes you have to rely on elixirs and eithers as there is no other way. If you dont have the gil to buy them then do go into portals with bosses. Its just how the rifts are set up. You only need one of the mega either to start off then you will always regen all that max mp back with your attacks. If you are going through linked gateways then you just have to have a stock of the eithers and elixirs otherwise its not viable to do it. Its just about maintaining your resources. Once you have reached far in the rifts then you will have enough gill to buy eithers and elixirs for every round. I always reset it so I can test my builds on how high they can go so I dont have a huge stock of those resources but they are not so hard to get. Just don't fight bosses if your build isnt complete or if you dont have any eithers to start off the round with.
I tried to make a new EQ spam and it was trash..on top of that it doesn't hit hard enough to justify the effort now..Its truly a shame that I've had to relegate it to a buffer class for its high innate LB duration

I find that the flare sometimes won't hit monsters when they are near a wall. It's so weird.
