It's lots of fun to customize XFCE any way you want. I'm amazed at what you can do with this desktop. It may not be KDE, but it still has a lot of flexibility! Thanks for a great video!

    Very good video.
I would add 2 things that I always do for xfce
If you use keyboard shortcuts it's ctrl+alt+t for terminal
But you can edit shortcut in keyboard settings and modify it to
    xfce4-terminal --drop-down
It's quite fancy xfce terminal that slides from top of the screen
    Second thing
Add new shortcut and bind it to super key
    And the command is
    xfce4-popup-whiskermenu
Whisker menu will show after super (or any other you like) key press

I have one suggestion, since I struggled a while to solve the issue: After switching to Whisker Menu my Super key (Win key) didn't open the menu any more. The fix is quite easy: open settings -> keyboard -> shortcuts, enter the command "xfce4-popup-whiskermenu" and bind it to the Super key.

How I customize XFCE. All kinds of ways, like you, But I begin with a real distro... I think it's called debbyum or something like that ?? Ian ??/ He sang for Deep Purple right ? I'm old
I gotta say over 25 years I've ran all that ever existed. XFCE has zero competition....other than Openbox.Openbox is killer but ya reaaly gotta be able to hack.... a little(.config) Gnomer, KDisasterE.Garbagewarez. Gnome 40 is great for having an Android experience on a desktop ! What a useless piece of shit. I put Niagara on my android phone to rid it of the virus look !
Mate is still really, really decent like Gnome 2 was but it still aint no XFCE.
Cinnamon is a great one too for new to Linuxers..Put it on gramps machine and he's back in business in 30 minutes..but it aint no XFCE either. A little supertuning and XFCE is the best of the best. Why do you think those MX guys chose it over everything else out there ?
I think they did a KDE now ? Bed wetting mommy boys need happiness too ;-)

In the Desktop Environment you need to set the layout in the system settings. If you mean in the terminal before the installation, you probably didn't specify the layout in the vconsole.conf file. It'll be something like 'sudo echo "KEYMAP=trq" >> /etc/vconsole.conf'
