Thank you. Can you please do tutorial about lighting big scenes? Like streets and buildings, how do you light that? One hdri only or sun light? Or combination of lights?
Hi Tritoon, thank you for your comment. I'd like to eventually do a big scene with lighting. It really depends on the scene. Sometimes just an HDRI light will work, but most of the time you have to add lights to emphasize what you want the viewer to see. :)

@@AcademicPhoenixPlus the thing is that Arnold lights aren't showing in vray render and vray lights aren't showing in Arnold render. Is ther any renderer that can shows both of lighs..?
Photometric Lights seem to be quite handy and a quick and easy way to produce an effective light source. What scenarios would you use one of these over another light mode? For example if you wanted to create a spot light effect, would you use an arnold light or a photometric light with a spotlight IES file? Thanks.
i just only have one question, i want to export jpeg of the view from viewport only, not render, because i wanted to show all the measurements i put on my model, i don't want to use snipping tool, it's not giving me high resolution image
I really want help with something. I made a lighthouse and I need to use Arnold to render my scenes so I'm using photometric IES lights to create a beam of light coming from the lighthouse. Light is coming out just fine but it isn't creating the bean which I want in order to make it more realistic. Can you please suggest me tips if there is any?
Hi Adi, I think what you are looking for is fog. Fog will make your light visible. Here is a tutorial on it. I hope it helps! You might want to start in the middle: ruclips.net/video/q2Bq4lRkvAs/видео.html I hope this helps!

Try doing a print screen from your computer and then cropping it using Photoshop or any image manipulation software. I hope that helps, Samuel!
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus if you have some idea to export directly from maya, please inform me, thanks...
@@samuelsibal1188 I only render from Maya! Sorry! I hope you find your solution. :)
Thanks for the tutorials.
My pleasure!
Ok. Arnold still cant count photons... sooo not photorealistic... its really good.. but its not simulate photon particles right???
I don't believe Arnold counts photons, so it can't do caustics and other things. But it's fast and it covers a ton of lighting options!
Do you know which rendering engines support this?

I really like IES Lights. :)
Are these IES Light Files free? It keeps saying to pay.
At gumroad, put it $0. It's free. :)
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
In the arnold of maya2018, it will crash when adjusting the radius of photometric light, please help me,thanks
Yes, I had that same problem, Yanting. Make sure you let Maya and Solid Angle know! It's a bug they should fit.
I am really very thankful to you
IES lights are fun, once you discover them. :)
Thank you
Thanks Mon!
Your welcome Jona. I hope it's helpful!
It was! I thought My laptop wasn't able to render photometric lights, and the answer was so easy all along
That's great to hear! We always have to get the fastest computers to make these things run. :)
Nice!!!
Thank you Nigel!

IES lights are so powerful and make indoor lighting look real!

Thank u so much, we don't deserve you :)
You are too kind, Victoria :)
