wow!!! used to surf there in the 80s never seen in the barrel rides like that for years . Nice job guys looking good ripping it !! . Surfing is one of those sports you never forget. ❤
This looks like Brad's video that was filmed on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. In one of the shots the 56th street lifeguard tower can be seen in his video, for those wondering about the location.
@@WordSalad-f1efucks wrong with you? Anyone launching their board at someone is an asshole no matter what happens out there. Especially on a subpar wave like the one they were on.
@6:03 - same ole' crowd at Newport still, huh? Looks like Sebastian back in the good ole days. Maybe we need more of these type of videos with the big slowdown coming up... (surfing is over)
@@ocavant the Point breaks left on a direct 180 South swell, preferably a short period hurricane off the coast of Baja starting at 18th St. There is also a right that breaks in front of 19-20th St. That stretch of beach between 18-20th streets is generally referred to as the Point. There is a submarine canyon just offshore that refracts the swells as well as the shoreline turns from South facing to SouthWest facing just South of Newport Pier.

Nice shots, nice barrels, Newport Point?🏄
Yes. A short bike ride from my house. I have surfed there since the 80’s. When it’s on (not often), it’s the best wave in OC.
@@philliplaplante8086 Is that like 20th?
56th street, lifeguard tower can be seen in Brad's video, didn't make the cut in this video.
@@philliplaplante8086 IMO best SoCal barrels are Big Rock, Blacks, Wedge, Newport Pt, Newport Beach, and Seal Beach.

Insane waves? You from Florida kook?
For Newport, that is good. Perspective, kook.
@@ocavant good is not insane! I grew up there! Therefore my experience was my perspective!
Lousy waves, but at least there's no crowd.
