It's that Justin Bieber / forced groan and moan in the voice is one of the things he was talking. He doesn't need it when his voice is great the way it is naturally sounds with all the extra effort.

i love how simon cant sing worth shit but is the biggest critic even with people like spencer who have a unique voice and style. dude is crazy good singer and they tried saying he was trying to play someone else but he wasnt. he was influenced by huge artists like elvis and that is his natural voice for sure, he definitely sounds the same now in 2023 and hes going fucking CRAZY

This dude is so freaking corny I can’t stand the way he does all those over the top runs. He has a nice sounding voice and doesn’t need to over sell it. When he does covers he runs them by making them all sound the same. He literally makes everything he does sound like that cheesy Sing movie

I feel like Simon tends to give constructive criticism to people he sees promise in. He's not overly critical, he's already beginning to mentor.
