The UFL has a ton of work to do to stabilize its failing markets. If the teams don't reside in their home markets it will cut off local media from covering the home team and players during the week. CFL teams like the Roughriders and Blue Bombers are the focus on local media and it keeps fans connected, resulting in large attendance numbers. There are many issues that needs to be fixed in the UFL to awaken local markets. Expansion at this point is ridiculous.

They seem to be giving these shit markets 1 more year which I think I'd s mistake. So many better markets that would instantly be an upgrade over Memphis for example. If they trot out these same 8 markets with no relocation or expansion I don't see much chance for growth in year 2. This league needs to show us they are trying to thrive and not just survive.

@IlluminovaNibiru Canton and Columbus both are soild markets. If they can have 3 teams in Texas, why not 2 in Ohio especially that supports minor league sports really well and showing interest.

The only issue I have with a San Diego expansion team playing at Snapdragon Stadium is that there are multiple teams from different leagues that play at the same venue around the same time as the UFL season. The UFL San Diego team would in scheduling conflicts with the San Diego Wave FC(NWSL), San Diego Legion (MLR), and San Diego FC (MLS).

San Diego, California, renowned for its stunning coastline, pleasant climate, and vibrant culture, is poised to become a prime candidate for a professional football team once again. With the city’s unique attributes and growing enthusiasm for sports, establishing a United Football League (UFL) team in San Diego in 2025 could be a game-changing move. Here’s why San Diego stands out as an ideal location for a new UFL team.
San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the United States, with a population of approximately 1.4 million people in the city itself and about 3.3 million in the county. This diverse and dynamic population provides a substantial potential fan base for a new football team. The city's multicultural environment can foster a vibrant and inclusive fan community, enhancing the overall football experience.
San Diego has a rich sports history and a passionate fan base. The city's support for the San Diego Padres (MLB) and San Diego State University Aztecs (NCAA) is a testament to its sports enthusiasm. Even after the departure of the Chargers to Los Angeles, San Diegans have remained ardent football fans. This existing passion for the sport can quickly translate into strong support for a new UFL team.
San Diego’s mild, year-round climate is perfect for outdoor sports, including football. The city’s pleasant weather ensures that games can be played in comfortable conditions, attracting fans to the stadium and providing a positive game-day experience. The inviting climate also makes San Diego an attractive destination for players and coaches.
Snapdragon Stadium, a multi-use venue built in 2022, stands out as a perfect home for a UFL team. With a seating capacity of approximately 35,000, the stadium offers a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate various sports and entertainment events. Its advanced amenities and versatile design make it an ideal venue for professional football, enhancing the fan experience and providing a world-class setting for games.
San Diego boasts well-developed infrastructure capable of supporting major sports events. The city's experience in hosting large-scale events, including the Super Bowl and various national and international tournaments, underscores its readiness to support a professional football team. The addition of Snapdragon Stadium further strengthens this capability, offering a cutting-edge facility for fans and teams alike.
San Diego’s robust and diverse economy provides a stable environment for a new sports franchise. The city is home to major corporations, military installations, and a thriving tourism industry, all contributing to its economic health. This financial stability can support a football team, ensuring long-term viability and success.
As a major tourist destination, San Diego attracts millions of visitors annually. A UFL team in San Diego would benefit from increased visibility and engagement from tourists and sports fans visiting the city. The combination of football games and San Diego’s numerous attractions can create a unique and appealing experience for fans.
Pairing a San Diego UFL team with a new team in Oakland could significantly energize football interest along the West Coast. The Bay Area, with its rich football history and passionate sports fans, presents an ideal partner city. A UFL rivalry between San Diego and NORCAL would spark regional excitement, drawing in fans from both Northern and Southern California. This dynamic could lead to higher attendance, stronger media coverage, and increased overall interest in the league, creating a compelling narrative that captivates football enthusiasts up and down the coast. San Diego’s community and local businesses have a history of rallying behind their sports teams. The city’s strong sense of community pride and corporate support can provide the necessary backing for a new UFL team. Partnerships with local businesses and community organizations can enhance the team’s integration into the city and ensure its success.
Northern California, with its rich sports history and passionate fan base, is another ideal candidate for a new UFL team. Pairing a UFL team in Northern California with one in San Diego would boost the league's interest along the West Coast.
Northern California has a storied sports history, having been home to successful teams like the Raiders (NFL), Athletics (MLB), and Warriors (NBA). The city’s sports fans are known for their unwavering loyalty and enthusiasm, creating an electric atmosphere at games.
The Loss of the Raiders and New Opportunities
In 2020, Oakland lost the Raiders to Las Vegas, leaving a void in the hearts of many local football fans. Establishing a UFL team in nearby San Jose could rejuvenate the local sports scene, providing fans with a new team to rally behind and restoring the city’s status as a football hub.
    Stadium Capacity and Attendance
PayPal Park in San Jose, California, renowned for its modern design and vibrant atmosphere, is an excellent choice for a UFL team. The stadium features a seating capacity of 18,000, providing an intimate yet energetic environment perfect for football games.
Northern California is home to several influential tech companies that could be interested in owning a UFL team. Google, headquartered in Mountain View, and Apple, based in Cupertino, both have significant investments in the region and might see value in supporting a local sports team. Additionally, Levi Strauss & Co., headquartered in San Francisco, has a history of sports sponsorship and could be another potential investor. Like San Diego, funding is going to be the largest hurdle for a California based team.

The UFL is not a fall league. There's no conflict with the NFL. Expansion should go to the biggest TV markets - most of which are NFL cities, i.e. New York-New Jersey, Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Portland and the other two NFL-orphaned cities - Oakland and San Diego.

I wonder what the European Language of Football is paying ??? One would think the UFL has to be competitive former coaches for XFL Offensive Coordinator 2020 Norm Chow is now coaching the Helvetic Mercenaries in that league , Jim Tomsula is coaching over there,Joe Thomas is coaching over there. John Gruden is a consultant for one of the teams. Seems to me a 4 year old league in Europe surely must be paying well to attract this high level coaching talent. But the UFL can’t pay well ??

Ideally, for me, the league will announce expansion to 12 teams at this years title game, but they won't take the field until 2026. This way, you can hype up a 12-team league, while only running 8 in 2025. You can run commercials in the new regions to get season tickets during the 2025 season, along with an entire calendar year to promote locally.
If we keep the Roughnecks in the USFL Conference, here's what I'd like to see for expansion:
USFL: New Orleans Breakers & San Diego Tomcats
XFL: Seattle Dragons & Chicago Enforcers
I'll be one to note that the UFL NEEDS "anchor cities." I'm talkin your NY's, Chicago's, etc. to not only give other teams in that region a big brother rival, but also to act as a mini-hub. Chicago can be a hub for Michigan & St. Louis. New Orleans a hub for Birmingham & Memphis. Why pay for one 12-team hub when you can have three 4-team or four 3-team hubs?

i think they should have a fan day,in teams cities, where fans could meet and greet players, and coaches, either before the season begins, or a teams first home game.they do that in college,i assume they do in the nfl also..i think they have to get the players out in public,in the cities they represent, places like the childern's hospitals, or the veterans hospitals.i think play'ers and coaches, need to be more identifiable in their cities, maybe players could earn endorsements promote local businesses /and also i think the ufl, could promote the stars of the league better, have them on sports talks shows on fox,and espn. have seasoned older players like a.j mccarron, or luis perez ,or darius victor, be the face of the league, and to help promote the ufl platform.

I would add too on the ESPN broadcasters that they need to quit reminding us of the PAT rules after nearly every touchdown. That gets really annoying. I get there may be new viewers, but what they need to do is show a graphic of the rules before each game (they’ve done that before) and leave it from there. Even new viewers shouldn’t need reminding 3 times a game. When you watch the FOX broadcasts, they never bring up the PAT rules like ESPN does.

One major component to is that the teams dont practice and live in there respective markets. So its difficult for the community to engage with the team if they only show up during the game. They have to at some point get situated fully in there cities to build a relationship with a community.

50:00 I disagree about creating new brands look at Arena Football they bring back classic teams and it works the Rattlers Barnstoomers Cobras and other teams. Fans are loyal to their teams these leagues have not been ( starting and folding really traumatizes fan support you can see that in San Antonio compared to St.Louis who fought to have the BattleHawks return instead of making a new team 2023) disagree Andy new brands only work in Virginia cities. It's not the teams that are failing the fans it's the league that is failing the teams.

Next year I’m getting tired of the 8 team format. TBH. Seems bush league and Many other folks who are potential newbie fans probably think so too. And many have seemed to dropped off. How was XFL 2020 drawing so many viewers. Worst rating was like 870k Vipers v wildcats i remember game was on espn2. Now these days a game on espn2 draws barely over 200k. Many have left the building since 2020. Sometimes I wonder if the USFL 2022 and their hub system ruined people’s perception of spring ball. 🤔 and there was no reason to run a league like that in 2022. Covid was long gone. Looking back now on this I feel it was a grave mistake to set up hub in. Birmingham. And to this day FOX wants to run this on the cheap. They need to risk take more now. They have the freakin money. Time to go all in from here on out or just not bother anymore , More teams = legitimacy in peoples eyes. Imo.

@TrueFootballFan that's all fine and dandy but still he may end up playing in the league for just this season and be gone to the NFL..Dinucci just got released and wants to come back which would make it year 2 for him which is guaranteed to sell his jersey

Agreed big time that they need the college kids to buy into the teams on campus. Shouldn't be that hard to pass off a few cases of beer to a frat

    Memphis is cooked. They need
To move to a new city. Give Arlington one more year if they can’t draw better then move them to Oklahoma. Nobody in Dallas cares about the UFL XFL or whoever. Cowboys own the town and the surrounding cities around Dallas.

Arizona isn't mentioned enough for being a possibility for a West Coast presence. Less competition with the Coyotes leaving and plenty of people visiting the area for Spring Training

I think if they don’t expand most people outside those markets will lose interest. They need to reach out to the local businesses to provide discount tickets to employees. And they need to reach out to grade schools, how many kids walk around the baseball diamond throughout the season? And all those kids parents buy tickets to the game

Totally agree, let’s get the kids down on the field pre-game.
