That is so cool to take your dad back to his childhood stomping grounds to fish. That is precious time right there. Wish I could do that with mine but he passed 20 yrs ago. God I miss him dearly still. Spend as much time as you can with him Scott. It'll be gone before you know. I know all too well. 😪

Dude I been watching you on RUclips at work it seems like forever and I had no idea man not a clue that Roland was your father...he is one of the main reasons I Bass fish Bill Dance,Hank Parker and the Great Roland Martin every Saturday...feel like been living under a rock .
When I think of the American Family I think of the Martins. I've watched the Martin Family for over 30 years and can't wait to keep watching.
Me and my dad would talk about going, now he's sick, and were unable to go together, no pitty needed, just keep him in your prayers, but I would suggest to spend the time with em when you can! Life is too short not too!

My dad and I use to take me fishing. I caught my first steelhead when I was 12 on the Deschutes River with my dad right there to witness it. I'm 48 now and my dad passed away 3 and a half years ago. Well i haven't gone steelhead fishing in a while so just a couple days ago I went back up to where I caught my first steelhead and hooked up and landed one at 6:30 in the morning. I guess my point is to get all the time you can to fish with your dad or loved one cause you never know when that time might not be there again to go fishing together. Nice to see Scott and his dad fishing together. You can tell that Roland really enjoys fishing with his son.
Always great to see Pop's, sitting here watching you two , makes me miss my Dad. Last time we fished he went to Lake Vermilion and asked me to come up there his second week. It was an awesome time even though the weather turned colder, but we fished for Walleyes. He's been gone ten years now, I miss him dearly. As a kid we would fish in Illinois mostly at strip mines. I'm happy that my wife loves to fish.

Life is way too short. Your dad has always been one of my hero bass fishermen. I'm 24 years old and it just shocks me when I see him because of how much older he looks now 😔
I envy you Scott. I couldn't imagine how awesome it was having the greatest Bass fisherman of all time as a dad. My dad was never really into fishing but he was gracious enough to encourage me and take me out in the boat to do what I love all the time as a kid. Even to this day we do a fishing trip every year in October to a fishing resort that is owned by a family friend. He still won't pick up a rod but he just likes to be out on the water and seeing the rest of the guys get excited when we hook a fish. Great video👍

If you and your father are ever back in the area don’t be afraid to reach out, I grew up on Chateaugay Lake and still live there and wouldn’t mind giving up a few of my honey holes to two legends!
Pops takes over when that camera comes on, I really hope you get that classic win 4 him. I know he won everything there is to win in Bass fishing but that Classic always slipped away. I know it would mean the world to him to see his son win it for him.
If Roland gets in the Elites next year he might just win his own Classic. 🤜🏼💪🏼

Got to meet Roland in an airport Fort Meyers he couldn't believe that they would not let him carry his little pocket knife on the plane. He asked if he could put it in his truck so he could keep it. They yea he had time before boarding. He showed me the knife and said he picks nails with it.Tickle me cause he was keeping his knive!
