- a great night out at my new basecamp, lockdown compliant.enjoyed the night out under the tarp with the wood stove.
for more great outdoor viewing check this link out • bushcraft, wildcamping...
So thankful I grew up with a step-father that loved the outdoors. ...hunting and fishing. And took us children into nature at all seasons, and gave me a love for the outdoors. What a gift.
Ahh, must have been great John, you had a nice father.
Shane that was a terrific video. I loved the plate licking. Once I get my strength back I’m heading to the bush and set up my hammock and tarp and rig the wood stove up if it’s still cold. It’s true how the simple things we enjoy most. Your spirituality is a breath of fresh air.
Thanks Clifford, glad you enjoyed it bro, hope you get your strength back soon mate, wish I could come out with you, one day eh. You take care my friend and brother.
Nice to see you kicking back and relaxing Shane. That new IOWB base camp looks somewhere special. Keep the videos coming, always a joy to watch and listen to your music. Stay safe, God bless, Paul C. 🙏🏻
Thanks Paul, appreciate your kind words and loyal support mate, I mean it.thanks
Great video. Thanks for the wee mention bud.
Hoots mun, tharts ney prooblem.
Isle of Wight Bushcraft you need tae work on that Scottish accent. 😂😄
Wonderful video Shane and great place you got there 🏕🔥👍🏻😉. Food looking delicious and sounds like a great whiskey to 👌🏻😋🍻
Thanks for taking me along
Stay safe my friend. Tom
Thank you Tom. Seeing your camp inspired me mate. Plus its good to have a camp to have in lockdown. Really appreciate your comments Tom, and I sincerely hope you and your dear wife are both well. Take care my friend, over and out.
Beautiful video brother, enjoying creation with some beautiful food is certainly a privilege. Lovely basecamp by the way!🌲
Thanks wade.
Nice video.. always find them “homely”.. I noticed the walls.. hope no public finds it.. awesome spot.
Should be fine rik.
Looking back at this one....to think I'm the other side of Bromley to where you were.....how we look back to those times in the local woods we grew up in and how tiny it seems today compared to back in the 70s as kids.
Good to hear you're a man of Faith, too many these days have faith in nothing, not even themselves or are afraid to Express it in public.
Thank you John, that’s really nice mate
Thoroughly enjoyed your video! Your channel was highly recommended by Tom at Cimbrer Bushcraft so I took a look. Liked and subscribed, and I'm looking forward to watching all of your videos. By the way, nice camp, nice stove, and great food! Cheers from Texas! Stay safe. -Steve-
Many thanks Steve, thanks for joining, welcome aboard
Cosey camp Sir! Thanks for sharing! I think that anyone who spends any time appreciating nature, if they are not lying to themselves, would agree that there is a great creator and God's word tells us about Him and His promises!
Here here
What a great watch, thankyou for sharing
I had a ramble with my dog after watching another of your camps around I'll say the niton area, bit wet and muddy to get around the thin ledge but nice
Look forward to your next video
Thank you John
That is sooooo easy mate! I live on island and love getting out and about! Love your videos! And that is a great spot u got there!
Many thanks golly, appreciate yours comments, what part of island do you live
Isle of Wight Bushcraft I live in Newport. But travel about walking and exploring 👍
you absolutely nailed it sir.
to be comfortable in the outdoors is what its all about. learning the skills is good craic, but being set up, just chillin' is the real reward.
My thoughts exactly, sometimes I love to really rough it, others, a chill out camp is the order of the day. Thanks for understanding
I have been missing these videos,
Wow Shane, what an amazing spot you have, especially with the freedom to come and go as you please! Great video again, nicely chilled and i'm glad the tarp mod worked well. Also love the sign hanging at basecamp. Is that your handy work? Keep up the great work Shane, it's appreciated by many and we look forward to the next instalment! All the best Louis
Thanks Louis, as always my friend, I appreciate your thoughtful comments. Take care bud
awesome overnighter
Thanks phyllis
Hope You’re keeping well Shane. Missing you and your videos mate.
Cheers 🍻 👍🏻
Yeh not so bad michael. You too bud. I may be making another soon.
Lovely camp Shane . I get great pleasure in eating my home made dehydrated meals at camp , not the same thing but a dram of whiskey before i get in the Hammock finishes of the evening ;). Just off to watch your Knife sharpening as i have a cheap mora knife that need some tlc. ATB. Phil.
Thanks Phil, the more are good
Well we enjoyed watching you eat those delicious minted lamb chops. Enjoy your private camp mate! Be nice to get out and about once the rules are relaxed but till then we can enjoy watching you enjoy nature ( and bacon). Nick
Thanks nick. Yeh be great to get out and about again.
Great video mate 👌🏻 thanks for sharing. Atb Wullie 🏴⛺️🏔
Thank you wullie
Over easy indeed. Beautiful breakfast and excellent camp.
Ah, many thanks
Nice video, glad youve got somewhere to camp, i cant wait to get out to woods with my friends again for an overnighter! its refreshing to hear someone express their faith too, it seems in the uk people will talk about anything and everything, but they get awkward and embarrassed as soon as faith comes up, but like you say "whats the problem?"
Thank you Liam for your understanding and insightful words.
Many thanks I will have a go once again many thanks , I'm just watching yr new video enjoy yr dinner looks great once again many thanks ,Andy
Thanks Andy
Nice one Shane, we will organise a trip together after all this mess is over. I Miss the outdoor life
Thanks Tim, will do, there’s a few want to go, we,ll organise a crew
Sure looks like a lovely spot you've found for your camp. So easy to go out on overnighters, if you could use the shelter to sleep and cook in that would make it such a quick and easy setup. I sure would love that and use it a LOT. :o)
Exactly John,
Awesome little getaway
From your last video it looks like to me that you were above your house in the hillside on the side of that cliff so that's what you've been doing for quite some
You did a lot of cleaning I see
And your base camp looks good
Thanks CG
That was awesome Shane and what a base camp you have there and so relaxing in your hammock top man, atvb Shane
Thank you John, a real chill
Perfect way to spend your free time, enjoy
Thanks LC
Hi Shane, it is great to see you are keeping well mate. Great video...... that food looked great. How do you find frying with coconut oil? I use it for other things, but haven't used it for frying food. Does it leave a taste? Great looking camp you have made there mate.... great stuff :) Thanks for taking the time Shane, stay safe, all the best, Mark :)
Thanks mark, coconut oil is fine, you soon get used to it. Very good for brain
Great watch, been following for a while, being on the island myself, looks like you are South side somewhere. I'm west, keep it up, very easy watching
Great, many thanks. I think the west is the nicest part. I fish a lot over there with an older buddy of mine.
@@IsleofWightBushcraft it is nice, some great foraging ground. We are lucky enough to be picking up a boat later this week. Now the fishing restrictions have been lifted, can't wait to get out. Just out of interest, what mic system do you use. I've only just started a channel, and am struggling with a few things
I you the rode radio wireless mic system. £230:00 I think I paid. Works great though. What’s your channel I’ll check it out and sub ya
@@IsleofWightBushcraft haven't figured it out properly, it's frugal outdoors, but it seems quite hard to find ruclips.net/channel/UC0Fep38TmyBDIEsAeRKD8Cw
That was cruel 👋🏻
I wasn’t rewarded by getting this far. YOU were you ate it 😉🤪😉
Great base camp. I’m sure even after lockdown it will be a home from home. 👍🏻
😂 sorry michael, it had to be done
I will let you off, as you were clearly excited to be out, but what happened to the zip pullers you used to use in your early hammock setups so you could pull the foot zip up easy??
Hi , thanks for yr help on doing the hammock, I have done this now however I haven't cut my webbing of yet just incase it go pear shape haha , great videos looking forward to yr next one , just one question are you x service army etc , once again many thanks, Andy
Thanx Andy, no
Enjoyable on many good levelsssssss (sizzling noise), especially the spiritual aspects.
Pleasant surprise to see those embers in the (frontier?) stove come morning , sorry I didn't join you for breakfast this time bro. Stay safe, stay sane
Ah, it would have been great to have you there Tim.
Over Easy means flipped with whites cooked and yolks completely runny, medium - yolks partly runny partly hard, and over hard.
Ah, now I know. Thanks
Looks delicious mate 👌. Wish I could join ya I'd bring the beer. Stay safe mate.
Thanks Matt,
Hello please don't take this the wrong way as I am not criticising but I am just confused like a lot of people as to what is acceptable and this is purely an enquiry. I have watched another channel with someone camping in their own woodland and I don't understand why it's permitted like you said your camp is within the guidelines. I just thought we couldn't stay away from home at all to camp. Thank you. Enjoyed the video.
I can not disclose this location, but trust me I have not contravened any lockdown laws. Sorry I can’t say anymore that this
@@IsleofWightBushcraft I am just genuinely confused about why it's OK on private land, and was interested to know the reasons. Would I find out about it on the government website maybe. Thank you.
Hi Shane great video as always! The new base camp looks great! Do you have an email address, as I wanted ask you something about, a Secret camp on the island!!?? Many thanks James
Yep, no problem james. Pm me on Instagram and I’ll give it to you, don’t want to do it here, troll emails.
Hello young-one, it's a long time l saw a person lick is a plate l use to do that before you born it 50s mark
It had to be done
@@IsleofWightBushcraft l know that feeling it bring my childhood back
Can I come and play there please 😢
😂😂😂
I am unsubscribing because I am not learning anything about bushcrafting. I have only seen a well built man with a shaved head, making himself very comfortable, cooking stuff outdoors. Does anybody send this guy money? He obvouselyy gets expensive items sent to him for reviews.
You’ve obviously not watched any of my other videos buddy
Stove tarp hammock etc all paid for by myself, and worked hard for it. I’m sorry you feel the way you do,
These lovely gentle videos are a wonderful calming treat. Keep them coming mate.
Shane you always produce great videos with loads of tips and hints to make camping out a great experience. Love your content like this also well done mate. As you say obviously some folks have not looked over your channel to see the great content you have put out.
