Talus was a great starting word. You could have done Alloy/Allay on your 2nd guess also. But I chose AFTER, REACH, RELAX. The games I play are "7 little words" and "Xordle" along with the Spelling Bee and Wordle from NYT.
A very quick two-word solve today, thanks to a very helpful starting word. This is my first "2" of the new year.... LEARN ("E" in position, "L", "A". and "R" out of position.) RELAX (Booyah! A bit of unscambling and the addition of an "X", and there you have it, a two-word solve.!)
Great solve, Doug. The other game I like is 4Pictures1Word. Not suitable for a video but it also has a daily mini game that is like Wordle. Sharpens your skills. After “aster” there were so many words that fit (14) but they were previous answers. (I take a screenshot every day.) Then I thought of deary, glare, reach, relax, relay, and renal. Oh so close to a “2”, but a “3” for me today. AstER- RELAy- RELAX
A birdie for me as well. River, ready, I put RExAX and immediately saw relax for my birdie. I thought Doug would see it as well on guess 2 but he didn’t!
Birdie today: TALUS, MOLAR, RELAX. Maybe you should also play the Dutch and Spanish wordles like I do? Only joking of course, but it does make me wonder if DUTCH would be allowed as starting word.
Hi again Doug. I have a suggestion for a new game you might wish to consider. Word Jumble appears in many newspapers on a daily basis. It consists of unscrambling 4 words to obtain a few letters that you then use to solve a cartoon puzzle. It’s a great game that often leaves me ‘puzzled’! What do you think?
Par 4 for me today - using similar word for other meaning of talus as my starter - ANKLE, BLEAT, MEDAL, RELAX. The only other word game I play 6 days a week is a word puzzle in paper editions of an English newspaper called 'The i paper' which is daily except at weekend. The puzzle is called zygolex and works on three types of word connections , ryhme, meaning and changing one letter.
STARE gave me the A, R, and E in yellow and had me concerned about the "ER trap". I then tried RACER to test that ER ending. Instead I learned that the solution started with R. I thought of both relax and relay as plausible answers and went for RELAY first. Not quite. RELAX for the par four. [I'm only interested in watching Doug play Wordle and Connections.]

You're welcome! Feel free to use my chosen word ( at least, I won't be the only one here using that). I pegged TOILS as very highly unlikely to be the answer, given NYT Wordle's current parameters.
Doug, try playing the new Connections type game called Connections Stacked. Or Fibble, which is just like Wordle , except every line has exactly one lie in it. Maybe try Xordle, which is two words at a time on one grid.

Thought I had a deuce... arghh. I'm generally quite pleased with a birdie, but when you're this close.... Look - Talus, Relay, Relax!
Yes. That feeling. Ugh! 😊
@@christinaforte746 Oh, I know, eh?
It amazes me every time I hear an American mention they still write checks. I don’t think I’ve seen a single one in like 25 years here in Sweden.

Hi Doug. For some reason, the word QUILL keeps ‘piercing’ my mind as a suggestion for you. Perhaps it might even be a good one for Fearless Friday.

Love it….my sister gave me a mega sudoku book at Christmas…already done a few in each section
Hi Doug, I'd love to see you give Letter Box on the NYTs games a go. It's always possible to solve in 2 words which is quite a challenge

It would be cool Doug if you could try globle if possible. It’s a geography game that I play occasionally.
Doug do you play sudoku for instance New York Times.?
Do you play KenKen in the New York Times? I like that puzzle.
I don't play sudoku, but I have thought about, for fun some time to do a live stream where I play it for the first time with no help (teach myself)
