13:15 EXACTLY! I was spanked as a kid. Even as a kid, it felt more like my parents just wanted to take their own anger (justified or not) out on me, rather than teach me to behave. All it taught me was that coming to my parents when I screwed up was unsafe and made me scared to admit mistakes. It also made me MORE violent by showing me that hitting someone when they piss me off was an option.
I personally find it awful when parents just give their kid an ipad and let them loose on the internet. Not only is unrestricted internet access terrible for a child, the amount of brainrot content they'll consume will make lobotomy patients ask for it to stop, and man, their attention spans...
What immediately tells me someone is a trashy parent is they have no interest in paying their child or children any attention whatsoever and they scream and cuss at their child and doesn't care about what happens to them or what they do .like pay attention to your freaking child and stop screaming and cussing at your child that is how you can tell someone is a trashy parent or parents .
The person who was answering the dad's questions is right. It should be clear to the patient and all those accompanying, if the patient is comfortable, that you are planning to ask some simple and some slightly more complex questions as a matter of routine.
Giving kids soda to drink at every meal. It's an introduction to a lifetime of dietary bad habits and health problems. Save sugary drinks for picnics, holidays, and birthday parties.
One of the most important things my parents taught me was to actually listen and consider what my kid is saying and respond seriously. Because they never did with me even today.
Yea i didnt find out until i was early 20s yet i was able to recognize how much diffrently i was treated by my bio mother that i made a joke about being the black sheep of the family and she got so pissed and defensive yet would make milk man jokes (i guess it was only funny when she was telling the joke and not me putting 2+2 together ) funny enough its cuz my step father didnt treat me differently then his bio kids that i was able to reconize i was treated differently by my biomom
Someone in these comments says "cursing out your kids" and I agree... my neighbour is the very definition of "trashy parent". She curses out the kids (I once overheard her dropping 2 F bombs while screaming at one of her kids) to the point where the youngest ones swear more than me (I'm 20 years old and they're about 7-9 years old fyi). My mum told me the other week she overheard one of the kids saying "I'm gonna hit you!" or something like that and said the children were horrible. But if you ask me, it's not the children's fault they're being raised in a bad environment. No child being raised in this sort of environment is at fault, in fact. Not to mention the fact that my neighbour's eldest daughter is pregnant at the minute which makes me feel terrible for that poor baby having to be born into an environment like THAT.
How many of the people posting can't figure out their gender. Humans need to be told no sometimes or they grow up and fall apart when they hear a negative to their behavior.
Don't put everything in the same bag. Being conservative or believing in a God, or being white doesn't mean you're an asshole. However, you're the asshole now.
