I've had the same issues when rockhounding and making videos, except I usually see so many prettier rocks I missed! The struggle is real!! 😂 I was wondering how you were rockhounding out there in the cold, but glad to hear you're having a warming trend! 🥳 Ok, now it's time for a rock pick hammer! Estwing has some of the best. ROCK ON!! 😁👍🏻🪨⛏️
I used to work on a Diamond Drill coring rig, doing mineral exploration, when I was younger... sometimes we would hit 50-60 feet of solid Chert, hard drilling really used to slow us down... I still remember the ringing of the hammer breaking the core samples to get them to fit into the sample boxes.
There is no need to throw shade at that big chert! As a flint knapper in a region that overall is very chert deficient...I am jealous of your giant chert!
I absolutely love your videos!!! After every video my daughter and i simply have to go rock hunting! We found a massive beautiful eock nearby and been trying three days to get it out. You have just inspired me to get going again 😂
I could spend a whole month in that place! A year! That was so sweet. It's gotten really warm here in Michigan too. Time to go find some Petoskey stones!
Hi. Great video. I can’t believe you have access to the quarry. I live in New Jersey. There are no tress passing signs everywhere. It must be nice living there
I found 2 pieces of petrified wood and a couple fossil sea shells... I thought it was cool. Just imagining what kind of ancient tree that it came from is fascinating. Finding a living organism locked in time like that is such a cool feeling... It was sitting there for untold thousands or millions of years until you walk along and notice it and pick it up. Pretty cool in my opinion anyways. That living orgasm lived it's whole life and died... And was preserved in perfect conditions for you to find it thousands or millions of years later... It's as close as you can get to traveling through time.
Wish you lived closer to Missoula Montana or my friend Kathy and I would help you pack out that big boy nice find wish you could show us some rock hunting tips love watching your channel 😎
Great video hope you get that rock home don’t try to cut on slab saw. Great for yard or garden you do have a rock garden right thanks you do good job with videos
I have a question; with this nice weather, I did my rock hounding along Lake Ontario. Those rocks are already very smooth. To tumble them, do I need to start with coarse grit, or something closer to a finish/polish grit?
Having watched your videos and living in and around superior and Duluth, I think there was a serious lack of good agate in that rock pit. It’s just my opinion, but I still enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming.😎
I think we all have problems with rock hunting. lol To bad, my friend and I don't live close. We could have helped you with the large rock. I can't wait until summer as the rivers will be down and safely go rock hunting.
Yeah i was thinking 🤔 why does she want a 90 pound chunk of brown chert? Hey you can always learn how to knap arrowheads now that you have enough material for 5 years worth 😂🎉

Agreed on Estwing. Mine's holding up well and a great tool.
Oh I don’t have one of those yet!! I will have to get one if I keep finding these huge guys 🤣
WOW!!! What great finds, please update us on bringing your BIG,BIG, ROCK home.
Oh I definitely will!!
As a fan of chert, I was actually there with you in excitement regarding your big brown rock!
Haha well at least I have someone who agrees! 🤣
What a great day you had! Keep having fun. And don't let boulders keep you awake at night. The sound effects are still cool. Ser you next time. 😷⚒
Thanks so much!!
That's amazing what a smart person with a good eye for quality rocks can find in a gravel pit.
Thank you!
Pretty or not, there's something incredibly satisfying about digging up a Really Big Rock™
Haha you’re not wrong about that 🤣
I’d love that huge rock for landscaping
Right!! I was literally so pumped about it! I swear it looks better in person 🤣
Nice finds...now on to the fun of cutting and tumbling.
You got that right!
Just subscribed so I don't miss either those newly found rocks being tumbled, or how great that big brown rock looks when you get it home!
Heck yeah! I love it!
I miss rock hounding! It’s still cold and snowy here in northern Alberta, but spring is just around the corner..

Very cool finds 👍 unakites are one of my favourite finds always 😊👍 Here in Finland is still snow, about 80cm, rockhounding must wait some time 😅
Oh such a bummer! Yes I’m so glad it has been warm here in Minnesota!
Chalcedony, agate, jasper, quartz, they are all composed of silica.
True that! 🙌

Salivating over that chert! What a beautiful baby!!!!!
There is no need to throw shade at that big chert! As a flint knapper in a region that overall is very chert deficient...I am jealous of your giant chert!
Haha well good I’m glad you think so too! 🤣
I love your enthusiasm! I had a rock tumbler, growing up. It was pure magic. Love how goofy you are, too. Definitely subscribing!
Here in Minnesota there are rock hunting treasures everywhere!
Awesome video !!
Thank you so much!

The crumbly red one is probably red ochre, a very popular pigment. The mystery yellow one early on looked like iron stained quartzite.
Wish you lived closer to Missoula Montana or my friend Kathy and I would help you pack out that big boy nice find wish you could show us some rock hunting tips love watching your channel 😎
Haha that would be awesome! Thanks so much!
Loved this video! Did you ever take that huge rock home!?
I haven’t yet but I really want to!
I'd polish up the big one to make in to a small garden seat
Honestly, I love your big brown rock
Haha good! Me too 🤣
Great video hope you get that rock home don’t try to cut on slab saw. Great for yard or garden you do have a rock garden right thanks you do good job with videos
That’s the plan! I can’t wait to bring it home! Haha
Well can’t wait to see that. Little might mo your determination and spunk you will get it done thanks
please make a video about tumbling these so we can see them polished!!!
I have a question; with this nice weather, I did my rock hounding along Lake Ontario. Those rocks are already very smooth. To tumble them, do I need to start with coarse grit, or something closer to a finish/polish grit?
Lol first shot of the green squirty thing I thought it was a water pistol 😂
i love this channel lol
Cool hunting spot
Agreed!!
Holly cow!
Haha right?!
Having watched your videos and living in and around superior and Duluth, I think there was a serious lack of good agate in that rock pit. It’s just my opinion, but I still enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming.😎
I know right! That’s the only thing this pit doesn’t have a lot of which is disappointing but it has lots of other goodies!
I think we all have problems with rock hunting. lol To bad, my friend and I don't live close. We could have helped you with the large rock. I can't wait until summer as the rivers will be down and safely go rock hunting.
Haha that’s because rockhounding is the best!
The red ball reminds me of red orcor.
I think it's beautiful❤😂❤
Crumbly red rock at 5:00 looks like red ochre
Yeah i was thinking 🤔 why does she want a 90 pound chunk of brown chert? Hey you can always learn how to knap arrowheads now that you have enough material for 5 years worth 😂🎉
Hahah looking at the positives I like it 🤣
@AgateAriel I actually think chert is pretty cool. It's not as great as agates, jasper, and pet wood but it's still worth looking for 👍
...Well, as a flint knapper I can say that ain't 5 years worth...I go through that much in one demonstration weekend. lol.
What are the orange rocks called? They write like chalk on the ground. Every time I found one, I would write and draw on the sidewalk.
I should take you to White Rock beach!
The one that split in pieces...
We have, for lack of a real name, silt stone, and it breaks into a million pieces. We just call it puzzle rock.
Haha I like that I might have to start calling it that myself!
Way to big, but I am also guilty of finding...Massive rocks 😅😅
nothing like those stone around my area..
Might be time for a , winch truck or maybe take some rock hounding medicine Miss Ariel lol ,
🤣🤣🤣
that big rock is actually a levitrite
I think that was a chocolate donut hole that crumbled in your hand
😮🎉🎉❤
🙌🎉
I mean if you don’t like it being the huge form you could try to break it up but just a suggestion!
That true!
You need to come out to the California coast. How exited i see tou are about agates and such you just might become a beach bum. Its going off.
Ok, now you need to tumble the big rock.
WHERE ARE THE GLOVES!?!??!?! /:
Would love to see them cut and mounted in some silver or gold
You are so beautiful woman
