You alluded to "no thumbnail URL provided" being an easy fix. This is the message I have. Would you mind making a video showing how to fix this one. Just a beginner so videos like yours are super helpful!
Webmaster tools doesn't exist. It's search console. just checked mine. I'm getting maybe 30 videos or so indexed fine and four not fine. All are embedded with embed plus pro and lazy loaded. What I'm seeing is"multiple video URLs were identified as belonging to video." Same base URL. But one has a question mark followed by a string of commands created by a plugin. It also says not affected by other issues. For that weird url, it says source HTML tag. For the normal video url, it says source structured data. Update: all the videos that are still indexed have those same query strings from the same plugin. But they're not triggering that problem. I do see in the source code of one of them that it line breaks after the question mark in the URL. Maybe that is something to do with it? But four of them with that same query string are not indexable apparently. They were all crawled on the 24th or something. Maybe that 23rd and 24th. And there was one that I created a facade for just to see what would happen, and just what I thought. Google doesn't even mention it as a video page anymore. It's not a video page with a problem and it's not a video page without a problem. Of course, it doesn't have schema either. It just opens in a light box. You click on the play button which is just an overlay on an image, and it opens the light box. If anyone knows how to add the right schema to that kind of setup, let me know. You can't Google this crap. You can't Yahoo it either.
Adam you're a legend! This is on my to-do list for today and I wasn't looking forward to drudging through it "trying" to figure it out. Thanks to you I now know exactly how to tackle this. 🙏🏽 Also, very happy to hear that Presto Player is doing so well!!👏🏽
This was very helpful... Unfortunately, the solution of turning off lazy-loading seems to be a trade off between getting the video indexed (turning off), and getting the page to rank higher (keeping it on so the page loads faster). Would be great if you're able to come up with a solution to do both without compromising.
exactly, Google masters youtube, GConsole and SEO indexing, they contradict themselves and just put the world in a sh*tty situation with this (and so many other situations)
So first and foremost long time fan here, been following you for what feels like close to 10 years now. That said, what are you doing for the URL location. I run a really big site and I use tools to keep images and such small but there are still a ton of images hosted on the site. I feel like I shouldn't have to also add the image thumbnails to the site as well if they are already uploaded onto RUclips. Do you just link to the RUclips page itself, or do you use an image hosting site etc.? I'm super curious.
I uploaded my video to my WordPress host, and it is not on a separate host or server, but it still gives the message (Video is not the main content of the page).
Is it actually a serious thing? Like, should we be concerned if we don't need the videos to be displayed in search results? (I get the issue "Google could not determine the prominent video on the page" for many of the videos on the website)
I still got the email even if the video on my home page is turned off. Do you know why its sending me an email "Video page indexing issues detected.."? Thanks!
Hey man thanks for your helpful video. I have a problem regarding web stories. Google has indexing issue with my web stories under "Google could not determine the prominent video on the page" how can I solve that? as you describe about lazy load but there is no such option on web storie plugin. So how can I solve this video indexing issue? thanks :)
I am also facing this issue. A page is not indexing which Contain a video and homepage of the website have 2 vimeo videos which is indexed. Trying to solve the issue but yet not sure what is the main reason.
Thank you so much Adam! I figured out with my WordPress it was the cache Rocket plugin. I was able to find the settings for the entire site or in each blog post or page. I'll be monitoring page speed next.
Would another, faster, solution be: your developers placing as a “Setting” inside presto player to “bulk” toggle Lazy Load off, across all videos (like via the code snippet you taught us in “adding user roles”)? That way, if a fix does come along for this (from Google or otherwise), it can be toggled back on quickly?

How do you address "No thumbnail URL provided"
You brought up the No Thumbnail URL provided and mentioned that was an easy fix but you never mentioned how to resolve that anywhere else in the video

Turned off "Lazy Load" as you said but still not fixed. What else could it be?

How do fix this in your Presto Player? I'm not seeing any settings for Presto player and lazy-loading

Thank you for your video! Do you happen to know how to fix Thumbunail URL issues in canva?

My video is inserted into the background, so I dont get the video settings option - any ideas on how to fix?

The information you presented in this video saved me a lot of time! Also, I have been pleased with the paid version of Presto Player. Thanks! :)
Not seeing any way to control this (lazy loading) on Divi. Am I missing something? Thanks.
My non-prominent videos were all created in Elementor Pro. Upon checking, none were set to lazy load. So still seeking a solution.
