My son has level 2 autism with severe eating disorder and sleep disturbances. He is very social, talkative and happy acting otherwise. However, his eating disorder is severe. He has to be fed by a G tube/feeding tube. He only puts 2 things near his mouth…hersheys chocolate and Wendy’s chicken nuggets, of which he only takes very small nibbles of the outter edge. He NEVER eats more than nibbles. I almost cried watching your beautiful children being willing to eat these things and drink the brine :( I am so happy for you❤. I just found out about this diet from someone who said it has been known to reverse symptoms of autism in some. Our son would never eat any of this on his own but I can purée it and give it to him in his tube. Would that be okay to do? Idk how it would help his actual learning to eat* it but maybe, just maybe, if it heals him he will then be willing to learn to eat on his own. 🙏 Also, thank you so much for being willing to help others without charging $1000 to do so. Bless you and your family.
I freaking LOVE your channel and all the follow along vlogs you make for the intro GAPS stages are SO helpful. Wow! I just discovered you! Newer heard of Gaps even though studied for two years under Elizabeth Baker (not the agricultural woman, but the "Raw Food Grandma" out of Washington State) who at 94 I couldn't keep up with her even though in my 50's! Maybe Gaps wasn,t developed yet . Anyway we flew to Arizona for training with Sir Tacamoto, who was knighted by the queen of England for discovering beet based vitamin c to use intervenously with cancer patients. Because cancer patients are allergic to vitamin c, because most is made from cornthat majority is GMO. When he got to the lectures that the doctors and nurses were attending for $800 that weekend to learn alternative methods to use in their regular practices, making it possible for cancer patients not to lose their hair or nausea by using the beet based liquid vitamin c. He started that because of the pollution in our air, water and food which now is 100 times worse/ he stated that by 2006 cancer was going to be one of the top killers in our country. And then he made this statement. The greatest way to fight disease is keeping your immune system built up. I learned some other things about nuts and seeds. Because she had been diagnosed with 60 diseases and the doctor said given up on her there was a time that there was a fasting hospital on the Oregon coast which of course by now has been closed down and she went there and did a week long water fast under doctors, supervision. And one of the things that they shared was to have a salt shaker next to her bed and every hour to just put a small shake in her hand and lick it and that would keep her from getting dehydrated. Which I had never read in any fasting books that I've read through the years.. And she had been working with a number of microscientist who were testing the mold, mildew and fungus that grows on nut trees, 😊 That is growing so rapidly that they stopped their testing. So her chemist husband helped her come up with using hydrogen peroxide about a quarter cup to a big bowl of water to soak, especially walnuts, pecans and sunflower seeds and almonds for 10 minutes and then rinse them off. And of course drying them in a food dryer or your oven on low or warm. Once you do that with especially almonds, you're going to be blown away at how much sweeter they taste. And blown away with how literally the mold that comes off, especially walnuts will gross you out. It's like a volcano or erupting in the bowl and it's something fun for kids to Look at! TTFN until I come back again. Thank you so much for your inspiration and vulnerability. You're an amazing Mom! And Papa. That's A LOT of work, but as a former ESL spell to write and read/ riding road to reading tutor and instructor. I'm always impressed with parents that are working hard to do it the right way! So you get a tada today. It was so much fun to watch your kids jump in and help chopping and mixing in stirring and making sure you're doing a good job with their supervision on your hip lol❤😊😊😊 keep up the good work
Thank you for sharing your GAPS intro journey with us!!❤ This is hard to do! You're such a great Mom! It's sooo overwhelming for me and extra hard for us because of some bad food reactions and autoimmune issues - we can't do eggs, fish, dairy (even fermented) or honey and have histamine reactions too😣
Radishes can be fried to like fried potatoes. I heard it’s best to boil them first then slice and fry with whatever you would fried potatoes. Keto people do that.
We started today with stage one and will do stage two tomorrow. We don’t have severe issues, but stuff like akne, light psoriasis. I would like to add more than one thing at a time because we never had problems with butter/ghee, eggs etc. my kids don’t like the soups with veggies. They hardly eat the meat but the broth. I am worried they don’t get enough calories.
Thanks for informative video. I am trying to follow gap diet for my 10 month old baby with eczema and food allergies. I wanted to ask is it save for 10 month old baby to have raw egg yolk ?
I’ve gotten the books and started reading but have one big problem. I have never been able to tolerate having uncooked or even slightly less than fully cooked egg yolks. I have no problems with cooked eggs but I have always been able to taste if the yolk is even a little uncooked and choke, gag, then vomit it up. Now I’m sure it isn’t the texture because I can handle raw oysters, okra, and plenty of other slimy or runny foods. Is there anything else I can add instead? Or just do cooked ones?
Keep restarting intro and getting stuck on stage 2 with die off. Didn’t realize egg yolks could cause it! I don’t believe it’s even mentioned in Natasha’s book. Would you start with a drop? Or just deal with the die off?
@bumblebeeApothecary when you say you blend the skin and ‘soft tissue’ to put back into soups what is the soft tissue? Not the meat part? Thanks new to all this and you channel is a god send
hi, thanks for your very informative video! im really interested in starting GAPS soon, transiting from Weston A Price. I have ginger allergies and I see you drink a lots of ginger tea. is it crucial to drink the tea?
How long should it take for tallow to melt down? Mine has been in the crockpot for 24 hours and refuses to melt down any further, I am using the liquid method
I have missed hearing why your family is on GAPS . I am keto but doing carnivore for a while for elimination purposes and just trying to get rid of some thing, like fat, insulin resistance, chronic conditions etc. I cannot tolerate many carbs at all. I also just had 3 orthopedic surgeries from October ‘22 to April ‘23 and the muscle atrophy has been hard to bounce back from especially having worn a cast for 6 weeks, non weight-bearing because I tore my left quads off of my knee. Then I just found out the reason I’m so dang clumsy and now have neuropathy in all limbs is that I have had MS from childhood and I am now 53. I did start taking really great probiotics and prebiotics for gut health and most actually really help psychiatrically. I’ve made lots of healthy lifestyle changes too. I am going to have to keep buying my probiotic supplements because I am barely keeping up cooking now and no way can I do what all you are doing with all the other things I added. I also just can’t do fermented foods either. I have tried, but just can’t. Then I found out casein is likely a huge contributor to MS myelin damage, that the body confuses it or something. This is from an immunologist. I don’t know, but need to eliminate that now and see how I feel. I already figured out I don’t lose as much weight when I have much dairy so I guess the time is now. Anyway, I enjoy your channel. Beautiful family you have!
Papa YAWEH, I pray for answers for my dear sister. To struggle this hard on this earth, even though it's a tough place to live is still pretty rotten that she has to not be able to enjoy her life better than she does. And so is your princess daughter. I'm coming on her behalf to your throne of grace and asking you Papa to give her grace and mercy and I come against any demonic attack that this is the result of and tell you to leave and vacate. You did not have right to torment her or interfere with her. Living a beautiful life here on this earth and now Lord I just focus back on you because ultimately it's all about you and your timing and so I'm thanking you for the healing that is begun and I thank you that you're going to use the suffering that she's gone through to touch so many other people's lives and said other captives free and I claim this for her in the name of yeshua hamisha. Jesus Christ don't Nazareth who came in the flesh our soon coming king Amen!!!
Any tips for those of us who cannot tolerate vegetables? I've been carnivore for two years and will occasionally have a cheat day where I'll eat some organic cauliflower in some meat stock and it causes severe GI upset and high heart rate. I'm starting to think I'll never be able to eat anything but meat and salt again. I miss my vegetables.
Your microbiome probably needs trained to digest these plant materials again. You might have to get the responsable bacterial strains back or make them grow stronger again.
Also, it might not be good to start with cauliflower to start train your gut on eating veg again. Many people starved out bacterial strains in their gut through restriced diets, e.g. strains to digest plant material.
@@adelaidaa2568 I have SEVERE MCAS and if I eat anteing beside meat, water, and salt I end up with a 200 heart rate and ER visit. I'm thinking I just need to start back with probiotics. I gave those up because they would flare my MCAS. Thank you for the input. I think you're right. I need to get some of those strains of bacteria back in. Just don't know how to do it at this point. I do eat a lot of 24 hour yogurt and some kefir that I make myself. Again, animal products are all I can handle at this point.
Would it be beneficial to do GAPS intro and then transition to Weston A Price instead of Full Gaps if you were just looking for a gut "reset" sort of thing?
Marisa🙏 yes I bought Gaps to Go diet guides - I exp several neurological symptoms - 3 days seems short for stage 1 - how long is advised for people like me? ❤ Or do I go by intuition? I feel more like 1 month?
I didn’t know that you can have peas and honey at stage 2. I thought that comes later. What is the difference between cultured cream and sour cream? So far I have only made sour cream with yogurt cultures, fermented 24 hours.
It's individual, but if the person is doing fine with them, raw honey and well cooked peas can be added in stage 2. Cultured cream and GAPS sour cream are two different names for the same thing :) I have this video all about culturing cream that may help: ruclips.net/video/7Bcdwu8bUKw/видео.html
Very nice, now tell me how to follow this diet if I have max 1h a day to spend in the kitchen 😀 it seems very nice and I am sure healthy but looks a bit like ideal world where only obligation of the day is to eat 😀 what when you travel? What when you work 8-10 hours a day, spend 1-2h in travel, have kids, try to workout and SLEEP IS IMPORTANT so you better sleep 8h 😀 this is nice for a perfect world or a stay home wife unfortunately. For 95% of people not doable.
It's not necessary to do it, if you're not sick. But people in many countries cook like this every day, I think in many Asian countries they have 3 warm meals a day( though cooked differently). And in many more traditional countries they eat lots of soups and stews. It's only in the West that this has become abnormal.
Meal prep. I make a bunch of chicken meat stock, save the chicken meat, freeze the stock. Then make a nice winter squash soup with the left over veggies, a big butternut squash, some of the broth, and a bit of sour cream. Freeze in meal portions. It ends up being so much food, enough for many meals, but all I did was chop some veggies, put everything in a pot, and wait. With the squash soup I use a stick blender, and it's smooth in no time. On that one day, with very little actual work, I've made enough food for me for two weeks. The next week I do the same thing with a beef meat stock instead, just for variety. But don't reheat with a microwave. It destroys all the enzymes and vitamins, and you'll never heal that way.
This diet did nothing but created such anxiety and stress to make my gut worse …..too many rules, tooo much cooking which. I cant do because of rare spinal diseases……this diet is ridiculous,
❤ I find that cooking beef shanks with just filtered water in my crockpot works best for me. I don't even bother with the spices and veg. You're right- the amount of cooking can be overwhelming. Currently, my raw ferments and raw fermented dairy are store bought instead of homemade. I'm trying my best to not allow perfection to stop all progress.

I think it's that white part that you can separate from the bones, that keeps bones together.
So the terms ‘intro’ and ‘stage 1’ are interchangeable (?) They are one of the same?
-Intro/stage 1
-stage 2

OR
-Intro
-stage 1
-stage 2

There are two main phases of the GAPS diet, the introduction diet and the full GAPS diet. The introduction diet is made up of 6 stages :)
