A masterpiece of a monologue, it's hard to have a "by far" stand-out scene in a perfect anime, that's how good it was, the adoptive Mom with hardly any screen time the whole two seasons came in the end to wrap up this perfectly told story, with her raw thoughts not afraid to face the truth she just put every unsettled emotion to rest, we never knew we needed her point of view in all of this until we did, and the beauty is that even if they ended the story here it will be just fine.
8:24 I like how everyone just realised opening hasn't even dropped yet and almost thought that was the end of episode. Just explained how good the pacing was in last eight minutes.
Nothing would ever recreate the rollercoaster of feels that this series did, and years after the end of season 2, no anime has come close to this. The closest is probably Koe no Katachi.
22:26 Rei's reaction about her hair is a sign that he is in love with Hina. If he had been a kind man up to now, he would have told the depressed girl, "It's okay, it looks good on you. But he conveyed his clumsy true feelings. It was his true feelings, lacking in experience in love. He was kind but not good at love, and he didn't have the skill to compliment the girl he liked well, so that was his reaction. I must let you know that reading the manga is a must! I believe the anime stops at chapter 90 i want to say. I warn you though the man no one speaks of arrives at 100 and Rei isnt taking any shit. Also love is in the air and match making for big sister?! Rei you sneaky little devil.
I've watched this series so many times, but I just realized that the round food on the table near the camera at 11:55 turned to square shape at 12:07 although no one seems to be at the table...does that mean something?
i know this is a late reply, but id assume its just to indicate a small time jump, like oh this round food was here for the first family, and now the square is for the second whilst rei and the others are still there
9/10, good show. but the pairing with hina just don't do it for me. i already seen her as rei little sister from the beginning, especially bcs of the bully arc makes their relationship feels like a brother and sister, and when it switch to being his love interest, it's just came out weird, at least from my pov. i actually thought rei wouldn't ended up with any of the sister, but even if he is, i always thought it's with akari, her conversation with rei in new year(?) chapter is sweet imo, it's actually feels like a romantic vibe. however, the sign is always there, from the lack of interaction and plot progression between takahasi and hina despite him being her so called crush, the teacher teasing rei about hina, and akari saying men like issa and smith are good for being a boyfriend (tho this could mean in general, not necessarily her "type of" preferences). still, him with hina just feels weird, don't get me wrong i really like hina's character, there's a reason why i think bully arc is the best arc on this series (anime only, haven't read the manga yet, but i'm not planning to bcs i already got spoiled and this pairing doesn't really help me to continue to lmao) still, good show regardless
