I’ve always wondered if they would allow you to give instructions to the audience. I would say “If you aren’t sure of the answer, vote according to your birthday, A if it’s in the first quarter of the year, B if it’s in the second quarter, and so on.” Then an answer should stand out because it’s right, not because it’s more likely to be guessed at. Or, the votes would be nearly even, indicating that almost no one knew the answer.

Everyone slandering the audience needs to realise that the audience have to press an option, even if they are not sure. This means, any sort of clues in an answer will always sway the majority of the audience towards that answer. In this case, the Beaufort Scale is used for wind intensity and hence immediately something one can associate with meteorology, which likely swayed the majority audience to picking B, even if they were clueless

The average audience member will not know this answer. You ask them garbage pop culture questions. Not specific history things. He also should have led with a 50:50 first, or after. At least then with the off-chance that B was removed, they might go for another one. But because the audience picked B, it's unlikely they would have removed it after. They would have left A and B.
