Renowned for its slightly smaller body and neck profile, the Sterling 4 string bass boasts a big sound. 9 volt active 3 band EQ preamp, 3 position pickup selector switch and a ceramic humbucker with hum canceling phantom coil come standard on the Sterling, allowing this bass to cut through any mix. Optional additional pickups in the neck position only add to the versatility of this innovative bass.

This bass really excels with the guitar pick! I'm going to make a couple more videos with it soon. The Sterling is a criminally underrated bass guitar!

Joe is so good I could hand him an old chair and an eggplant to play and I’d want to buy both when he’s done. This one is actually VERSATILE and has active EQ lol

I love my sterling. Mainly cause the neck is thin and not fat like the stingray. I have small hands:(
Too bad Ernie Ball raised the price of these little monsters up into the 2 grand price range
For the new ones. But you can get older one or my favorite a 2006 in mint condition and it plays just as good if not better and they are only 1100 to 1700 bucks.

@@ziggysmalls9329 Instruments need to be broken in. Not to say the new are bad they are amazing but one that has a little wear and and a good setup sounds so good.

Dude I've owned 2 of these basses a regular single hum with the switch and mid control and a classic with a birds eye neck and the mutes on the bridge with the 2 band pre amp and had to sell them both they were the best basses I've ever owned the only thing that was kinda close was a g&l m2000 but the body is much bigger and the neck is like 1 5/8 nut the Sterling basses had the best neck I've ever played and they just disappeared until joe dart started playing a striped down model I hope they bring them back I would buy a new one in a second

such a shame their so expensive to buy here in UK...
don't like the Sub but the USA Sterling is great, not to bothered about the single coil sound, I would replace with older Ernie Ball Humbucker with Alnico magnet and a series/parallel switch... the best sound I've heard from any Music Man Sterling... or any other bass guitar... I guess it's a personal thing but 2 good humbucking tones is enough for me and a bass/treble, 2 band eq, 9volt system.... if only they were under £1200 I would buy 1 tommorrow...

Unfortunately, no, the Sterling H model is only routed for the single neck humbucker.

Pablo Essgalhardo series/single coil/pararell
uses a 3 coil Humbucker with dummy coil to get 3 settings, series, parallel, noiseless single coil (uses dummy coil to humbuck single coil), better with the Ernie Ball 2 coil Alnico magnet humbucking version (exact same looking) with a series /parallel switch,
both fantastic useable sounds
This bass is great sounding but it has a hiss that has gotten worse and worse in the last year since I bought it. Any one else have this problem?
Government subsidized active bass
I was at a local music store today and picked up one of your basses the first one was ok but I wanted to try out another one and actually cut my hand on one of the frets and it socks because you have to use hand sanitizer. Burns. Not very good qc.
