This mix is straight up fire man Any REAL professional mixing engineer will tell you there's no such thing as "by the book", mixing is an art and any art is born out of creativity
This is so awesome man! You achieve such an enormous sound and that main riff is insane. I think I love it more after you broke down all the layers. My recordings are a muddy mess with this much going on... you have such a gift for this. Thank you for sharing it!!
Once again i've learned so much about mixing, especially EQ and saturation. I also love to use this kind of cinematic and orchestral effects! Great stuff. Million thanks for your inspiration, Rabea..
Thanks for sharing the process Bea - Its so interesting to see how a track like this gets arranged - it thumps so hard - one nod per second perfect tempo in middle part🤘🏻 I've just started out on my home recording journey - I have a UA Volt 276 (hoping I can do everything native without the DSP of the Apollo), Boss IR-200 + my guitar board/bass players board and I'm using the UA Luna Pro bundle plus things like the Empirical Distressor, Lexicon LX480 etc. I got a little Akai MPK mini plus for midi/transport - its a proper rabbit hole and I can get lost for hours but its SO much fun. Keep making this awesome music maaaan !
Noticed a lot of 'Zero Latency' processing on your EQs. Setting 'Linear' phase on ProQ3 inserts has been a revelation... Especially on steep moves like high/low pass on tracks with lots of harmonic distortion, overheads etc. Not immediately noticeable in solo, but clarity gains overall have been amazing, losing all the weird 'swishy' phasing that can occur over many layers. Also noticed clarity gains in bass instrument frequency crossovers (bass guitar tracks/kick/synth placement)
That blue smelter demon tone sounds like it has a lot of adaptability. Nice and evil sounding too, almost sinful. Rabea you are truly like a scholar of the first sin.
Fantastic vid and track! proper up my street and similar what I'm attempting to create at home and happy to see I have virtually all of the plug ins you mention, so this is so helpful to watch! :)
Not my favorite BEA track tbh BUT - I like the Mick Gordon Influence a lot - the use of NI Instruments from the more classical scoring range is awesome ( haven't thought of that myself) - Splice is a good resource ( can recommend to anyone) I love your explanation/walkthrough since it get new people into mixing and add details to make it round . LOVE IT ! :) Keep that stuff up!
Whenever you think that you might not be doing things by the book, remember that at some point in the past, someone saw an 1176 Compressor and throught "I want all those ratio buttons pressed in at once" even though the device doesn't want you to do that. Mayham compression breaks loose and it sounds super cool. No rules.
Sounds killer man! A little tip: I like to put a gain/trim plugin first on a channel (or after a guitar vst) and balance the mix with those and faders at zero. It just means when you to make changes, the resolution of the fader is more fine and automation will be easier 👍
So cool brother, so many cool ideas... I need to learn the automation techniques and I'm really behind on programming the drums... this is really informative for me and just say quite ingenious... wow, great stuff big daddy...
Hey Rabea! Is your left and right guitar eq’d differently independently before they go to the guitar bus? If so it would be interesting and helpful to know what you did and the reason for that! Thanks!
I’m curious to see how you work EQ the more you transpose down? I’m using a baritone in A and transpose to F# for Spiritbox. But it can get muddy real fast!
You mentioned the virtual channel for the standalone neural dsp on the guitars. How do you set that up exactly instead of uploading the plug-in into the daw? Thx!!
This is so good and much appreciated. It’s daunting when it comes to compressors and eq’s and tape saturation as there’s so many on the market, which some are free and some 💸💸💸 I’d like to know how much do they really differ? Thanks for the vid, you’re a beast!!!
So I really love these breakdowns especially the use of some of the x plugins. I have been living under a rock and only recently adopted capture and modeling technology and I just got my first quad cortex.... That being said I'm kind of lost as to how I actually gig with this thing because the power cable situation anyone have a good lead on how I can solve this?
it sounds still great with nothing on the master bus, or am i cooked? 🤣🤣, agree with your plugin take, it's the most unique and the best too ,in my op lol

Just amazing! Thanks Rabea, what a masterpiece!
This Sh!t Fvckin SLAPS man! I appreciate videos like this so much bea! Amazing work!
All of your disclaimers aside, your attention to detail and creativity is inspiring. Amazing tune AND production.
Once again i've learned so much about mixing, especially EQ and saturation. I also love to use this kind of cinematic and orchestral effects! Great stuff. Million thanks for your inspiration, Rabea..
Such an inspiration to lay it all out like that, thanks man
Gonna enjoy watching, been learning a lot from your mixing videos, have been re watching the old ones too. Greetings from Dominican Republic!🤟🏽

You’ve been killing it 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 please drop more music, please breakdown more mixes!!!
The synth bass track adds a lot of wool and hair to the bass track. Thanks for sharing this. It was very insightful.
I was reaaaaaaaaaally hoping youd put this out. thanks, man 🤘
What a fascinating process! Seems so complex for a layman caveman like myself. The end product is beautiful!!

Thanks! I’ll certainly try this

Is there a preset for that high pitched synth? Classic Mick Gordon sound and I neeeeeed it
So entertaining! This slaps sirrrrr 💥💥
You have such an unique cool sound in your mixes, thanks for sharing!!

This is exactly what I was looking for. As a newbie, this is great. Thank you man.
🔥
What happened to the recent live stream? I was looking forward to watching that vod 😭
Routing the NeuralDSP plugins from standalone into Logic is an absolutely golden tip thanks man! Those plugins be hungry.
Any insight on how this is done?

DOOM 2 !!!!!!
At around 22:23, how did you do them with the plugin? Preset even? :)
You mentioned the virtual channel for the standalone neural dsp on the guitars. How do you set that up exactly instead of uploading the plug-in into the daw? Thx!!
did the live vid get taken down. i didn't get to finish?
I would LOVE if you put the unmixed tracks on your store for us to buy and follow along kind of NailTheMix style.
This is so good and much appreciated.

Thanks for the vid, you’re a beast!!!
Why is so long attack time for sidechaining bass from kick? >100 ms = all low end of kick is passed
My OCD would be me organizing the track for you as we chat like I do at the Ogre Cave Studio lol
Cool! Thank you very much for the How I Mixed IDDQD Production Elements. I would also like to see How I Mixed: Archetype Petrucci - A Tribute to JP🙏💪🤘
Can you do a vid explaining the bass synth tracking method more
damn IDDQD. How is this not as big as up up down down left right left right b a start
Very Cool....!

that "rabea master" buss is screaming for help lolololol
YEEEES!

Could’ve sworn you take lessons or something. Crazy your self thought. This mix is fucking crazy. Very 3d and wide feeling
sorry but which plugin you use for the analog bass .... ????
a post dedicated to physically programming the drums would be awesome.
i feel like as long as you have a good sounding end product - how you mix doesn’t matter that much?
Let's make these breakdown videos a must!
You should offer stems to these songs so we could remix them 😭🙌🏻😂
it sounds still great with nothing on the master bus, or am i cooked? 🤣🤣, agree with your plugin take, it's the most unique and the best too ,in my op lol
awesome,,,,,,,,, thumb up from lenoc
Hello sir pls give some discount on your riff writing course
How exactly do you do this? ruclips.net/video/27Mt8DJ3vio/видео.html
Is there anything this man can't do?
Maybe vocals?😂
