I landed in BKK on 13th September 2024. Sold everything in the UK - house/business/car/clothes/shoes, everything. Kept the basics in a storage unit. I only plan to stay here 6-months of the year and the rest in Europe. Anyway, I am MUCH older than you, retired, and financially well secure. I spent the first 2-weeks having fun, pretty much like on vacay, and then stopped. Just stopped. I rarely drink alcohol. I go to bars and listen to good music with a soda water. I have no need to work (can’t anyway due to my visa) and just chill out and enjoy everything that Bangkok has to offer. Thing is, you are living a very good life BUT what if it goes pear-shaped? What if something happens and you need to exit this life? What’s the contingency? I see lots of content creators on multiple platforms and no one ever gives an answer to that critical question. Plan for the worst, hope for the best has always been my motto
Yeah I have a little safety net and been saving and investing.. currently I could probably get by for a year without earning anything, I also have a few income streams so even if the channel got deleted I wouldn’t be completely screwed.. I think I’m in a great spot 😊
@@keisone good to hear, but I wasn’t really meaning losing an income stream. Doubtless you have heard about Edward Sweeney and his troubles? great advice Keis! 👌 Ive just moved out to Pattaya after a year of multiple trips back & forth from Australia, it's extremely challenging with all the temptations of nightlife, drinking & women but self control is the key, the classic Thai saying "Up to you" is it! No one is going to help but you but YOU! this place will and can destroy you if you let it through your own poor decisions. youre an Inspiration brother and I hope to meet you out here someday 😁

I am happy to hear these words from you. It takes a long time to figure it out, it took me almost 3-years, and some guys never figure it out at all. Getting out of the "Bar Scene" and settling into a normal life with a normal Thai girl (not a bar girl or prostitute) greatly improved my quality of life here in Thailand.
@@jonhobson3592 What do you do there for a living? I'm going in January to scout for options/inspiration on how to get an income and move over there. So sick of the West.
Keis, I just want to share a bit of my life. Most of it has been a dream. I start working for myself at about 28 traveled the world. Never thought about the future. Working for myself I paid very little into Social Security Taxes, now in my sixties it has kinda bit me in the ass a bit. Being free is great, just plan a little for old age it will get here faster than you think!
@@ThailandThomas Different times, Govts worldwide are making investing in 1/2/3 homes for renting not worth while, plus even coming up with a deposit to buy home to live in is out of reach for most, the share market is where its at these days. 10 Years ago it was only old fuddy duddies on wall street that could invest in stock, now 18 year old kids are doing it from their bedrooms, and there are about a billion more to sign up to a trading app. All those $50s add up to solid returns over the next decade.
@ThailandThomas, thank you for your resourceful comment. You answered a question I have been pondering on and meditating over for an entire month now. I have a great job in America with full benefits the whole 9 yards, and SIX MONTHS off a year when we travel to Thailand to film for the channel and I even have remote online work while in Thailand earning easily $2,000 while working 3 days a week in Thailand for 4 hours a day, and while I really shouldn't even be working on anything else but the channel, I feel like I reached my prime and I'm in beast saving mode, which as a man, makes me feel AWESOME. I save about 15 to 20K a year in tax deferred retirement growing at 12% per year, about 10K in other stocks and real estate, but @keisone also has a good point. One HAS to hustle, and he is doing a great job, although I still believe South Africa is better than Australia in Rugby... Sorry mate ;-) But both this video and your comment made such a difference. I think I'm gonna embrace the work, I'm good at it and love the checks, and I'll work harder on the channel, but I want that nice retirement set to forget at 40 where I can just film, maybe get back into making movies more full time, although I did just fine doing it broke, but my eyes hurt staring at price tags all the time. I just feared my 60 year old frail body being a burden to my family one day. So I'm keeping the day job and I'll get the DTV for the Online work to move as I please. But I'm gonna take Keis' advise too, and work harder on the long term game. He is doing well for himself, better than most day jobbers I'm sure. Nice video and thanks Keis and Thomas! I'm happy time goes fast, because I get bored and time goes by very slow if I'm not highly functional ALL THE TIME, that's my new challenge, to stay present and to stay zen. EDIT: I also bought Keisone's udemy course, and I have to say, he got his stuff together!
I spent the better part of 19 years in Asia from 2000 till 2019, I moved to Colombia in 2019 and spent my time in South America. from 2016 till 2019 I lived full time in BKK. by far it was my favourite city in Asia, and I spent significant time in Singapore / Hong Kong / Seoul / KL / Tokyo .... my point is that being an expat in Thailand you will never really feel "at home" and that's not a bad thing. I suspect at some point you will venture and live in a new country half way around the world. having a local gf can complicate that, I just packed mine up with me and she lives with me in South America. Excellent content as always.
Happy for you mate...you're one of the few younger Thailand settlers who don't treat the country and the women like a commodity...how much you just love the place shines through.

First video I’ve seen of yours but I think you nailed the importance of moderation in all you do being pivotal to a successful and enjoyable time here. I will have to try out your food spot one of these days when the rain lets up and see how it is. Life out here in PC is really much quieter than on Sukhumvit and well worth the trade off in my book. Make sure you try out some of the food at The Circle and Food Villa which should be pretty close to you as they have great food options and a chill vibe as well.
@keisone, I am looking at moving to Thailand in December, I have a unique situation as I am a single father with 2 boys, I have been to Thailand many times and me and the boys love the place, never a dull moment. Australia is cooked, unaffordable to do anything. The people are completely brainwashed and no one seems happy anymore. I often think about starting a you tube channel but wonder if I can make it work.
Imagine this keis and I’m not bullshiting 😅you are the reason why I came Thailand today and i am on Phuket right now just exploring and I wish I could see you on 26th Oct 😊 I would love to take photo with you before going back to Dubai
Great video and imprortant advice about having a plan. I am soon moving to Thailand and have already done phase 2 in the past so hoping to jump right into phase 3. Onwards and upwards ❤
You hit on an important point. When someone wants to minimize or control the boozing and party life it’s important to focus on REPLACING those activities with more healthier or beneficial activities such as hobbies or fitness. You’ve managed to make the changes because your focus is on other things and not on quitting or minimizing. It’s ok to enjoy some drinks with friends but not good to allow it to become a lifestyle that takes precedence over your life. Psychologically if someone is dwelling on not doing something they will actually gravitate towards it more because it preoccupies the mind.
You should try a local bar that Thai people like to go(a good local bar, not those cheap roadside whiskey stalls, ป.กุ้งเผา or ตะวันแดง). It has a very different vibes from the bars in tourist areas.
Dang im old, been through 1,2,3 then 4,5,6. I remember my phase 2 time was fun, miss it now and then, but its not a mode thats meant to last forever. Enjoy the changes as the come!
That short clip with you and Dan , when my old ZTune account was active 😂 great videos back then from both of you. Way better than a newspaper with a coffee in the morning 😂
I have seen plenty of folks living the lifestyle you mentioned in Pattaya, not for me, but my fav motto is you do you, just don't complain when that lifestyle crashes all around ya
What do you do there for a living outside of RUclips? I just hit 40 years of age and I realized that I've wasted the last 10 years on my worthless niche job (can't be translated in to working anywhere else). Going to Thailand in January for a month to scout out locations to live & get inspiration for work to do as an expat. After that I'll go back to Sweden to work for another year, and then the idea is to go back to Thailand with a detailed plan on how to live there. Staying in the West is not an option, would literally rather wash dishes in a restaurant there for local pay and live in a box than spend the rest of my life here. Any tips on what to do would be appreciated!
Great advice and nice to see the outcome of sticking to it !!! the party lifestyle is a killer long term even if you have the money, i'd have to learn to control the binge drinking if i ever make it out there to live 😂😂
Would love to know how you keep the OFF White shirts so clean?? lol I've got a couple but in the past always get ruined, maybe i'm not careful enough, I just dont know how to get white to stay so white lol.
I made the mistake of girls and the party lofe on my first tike working abroad. The next tike and until now 10yrs late I still have fun but it does not effect my work and I don't always go out. You can get lost easy over here and loose everything so be smart and make it like home and not a party.
How did you even find that bistro? It's in the middle of nowhere, more than a km from the nearest BTS station. Looks like a great place with interesting food, so I might venture out there next time I'm in Bangkok.
Iv watched u since day dot mate u have done very well and grinded out a great life for your self well done my friend gotta go out and have a few beers and have bit of fun now and then
it's the attitude ... ^_^ think positive and things turn positive little by little no bs. You can be miserable wherever you lay down your hat :) every country has something awesome but you gotta just find it... Think like where ever you live now, it is BEST place to live :D Good video... 2025 gotta visit Thailand for SURE :)
Great advice brother....didn't need it back in 84 when I first came here because I was indestructible. Could of used your advice over the next 8 years when i visited sometimes every week. But I was on a mission. Would have loved your advice in 99 when I made a long awaited return.....but I thought I knew it all. To cut the story short, I married a Thai lady in 2002 and we built a house and I moved here forever in 2006 and my life has been about as good as it could be :) But yeah, if I was a young fellah today....I would heed your wise words.....maybe :)
You are so correct when you mention how much money you can blow by going out drinking , back in the 80s I went to the fire academy with another guy around the same age as me, several years later after working the same job for the same exact salary we were both in our 20s still living at home with our parents, the difference between me and Pete was Pete went out to bars four nights a week and I didn’t, another big difference was Pete was always borrowing money from guys at work, and was living paycheck to paycheck and me as a non drinker just put $100,000.00 down on my first house,.. so ya ,.. it does make a big difference
Well, I don't have a car or bike but I like to take public transportation and walk and it looks like the MRT to Bang Phai and then an easy 1k walk to "your spot". But I won't tell anyone. Ran into you a couple times when you were on your skateboard by Makkasan ARL. Glad things are going well!
Great video. I am glad to see you're figuring it out. I recall that sort of mid-section.I was concerned with your drinking. Fun times to watch but I knew it was unsustainable. I love what you doing to the bike, making classic Thai street racer. . lol.I like to say, It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow"
At the 10:20 mark, you said it, spot on: Find hobbies you really enjoy doing and are positive. I will add to that, if possible, find things to do in your life that have 'purpose'. In two weeks I will go to Pattaya, and spend some time and money at the Father Ray Orphanage, buying lunch for the group. I am also looking into learning kite surfing in Jomtien. Both are fun, but I suspect the day at Father Ray's will be the highlight of my trip. It gives my life a bit of purpose. Great video, I enjoy watching them all.
I have followed you for quite a while now, and I've noticed some very positive changes in you. One question though, how the hell do you find time pump out so much great content plus work on your bike and now your Hilux? Good on ya mate. I for one would like to hear about your motocross racing days, I think it would make for an interesting video. I used to ride and race dirtbikes back in the 80s 90s and into the 2,000s. Some of the best times of my life. Great video!
@keisone Well you've got a Hilux Ute now to put a dirtbike in the back of and head for the hills. Enduro riding was my thing. I did a little bit of MX as a kid.
@keis one Hey Adam, i own a couple Toyotas here in California myself ('93 Pickup, '93 Camry) Don't forget to change your Cabin Filter under the glove box! 😀
While I agree with eveything you said, you basically just described growing up. Lots of people who don't leave their own country, go through the same phases you described.
I live in the Philippines and the poor quality of food and poor housing standards are getting to me. I love Thai food! Can you talk about how one can stay long term in Thailand? I travel internationally for fun every 6-8 weeks but prefer a legit long term Visa solution so I can sign a 6 month lease in Thailand. Thanks!
Great to see you in this latest chapter of life, having watched you since you first arrived in Thailand. Here's to many more as-yet-unimaginable chapters in future!
Yeah noticed a difference with the timing, I also went to a cooler plug with the larger engine size and it made a difference.. Also the position of where they ignite (different lengths) not all performance changes but how smoothly the bike runs..
We've only been here 2+yrs but being from uk every day is beer garden day. We've had some major ups & downs but still here and 3rd year seems to be more stable. For now 🤔🤣 Cool vid 😍
Mate another amazing video Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't. Work hard grind, and don't waste your money on meaningless things save while everyone parties go out drinking and wasting their money you are working hard saving, and investing in yourself so later you can live they cannot

12:44 - wtf happened to that wiring? On a serious note, great video! I'm on a plane in 7 hours, bound for Thailand. I've been many times before, always combining work and play and I've still got plenty of party left in me. This time, I'm looking to establish a second home and get into a (mostly) healthy routine. Wish me luck! 🙏
@@keisone because it is a good way to keep newbies out of the country. thailand is too popular now. you should do a "fake" video about how awful thailand is now to keep people away otherwise they will take over bangkok and your new restaurant featured in your vid today.

This video must have been shot a few days ago because the past few days its been raining hard for a few hours in the afternoons. Looks like you had a taste of the rain so much for the nice day 😂. I was outside when it rained and soaked my shoes 🤬
Love the video. I am the opposite. Not into partying except Smoking weed sometimes. I have mental health issues and Thailand would enable me to go out more and to afford to not live like crap on what I make on VA money. In the U.S I struggle just to afford a place. There I can just be in the moment and do my own thing and still afford to live.

How did you even find that bistro? It's in the middle of nowhere, more than a km from the nearest BTS station. Looks like a great place with interesting food, so I might venture out there next time I'm in Bangkok.
Great advice
Iv watched u since day dot mate u have done very well and grinded out a great life for your self well done my friend gotta go out and have a few beers and have bit of fun now and then
Oh I still love a drink or some fun with friends, it’s just not several times a week haha
Yeh goods words of advice mate love your vids as well great to see your life is awesome cheers bro
Thank you so much mate!!
Hey man where did you buy the trousers ?They look cool 😎.
it's the attitude ... ^_^ think positive and things turn positive little by little no bs. You can be miserable wherever you lay down your hat :) every country has something awesome but you gotta just find it... Think like where ever you live now, it is BEST place to live :D Good video... 2025 gotta visit Thailand for SURE :)
love seeing you grow man, keep it up !
Thanks so much brother!
Cheers mate,
🙂
Great advice brother....didn't need it back in 84 when I first came here because I was indestructible.
Could of used your advice over the next 8 years when i visited sometimes every week.
But I was on a mission.
Would have loved your advice in 99 when I made a long awaited return.....but I thought I knew it all.
To cut the story short, I married a Thai lady in 2002 and we built a house and I moved here forever in 2006 and my life has been about as good as it could be :)
But yeah, if I was a young fellah today....I would heed your wise words.....maybe :)
If you put in consistent 12hr days it doesn't really matter where you live........gotta take time to smell the roses.
Hi Adam great blogs , I have a question maybe you can answer I'm coming for 4 months @ Xmas will my loaded fire stick uk work in Thailand TIA
Well, I don't have a car or bike but I like to take public transportation and walk and it looks like the MRT to Bang Phai and then an easy 1k walk to "your spot". But I won't tell anyone. Ran into you a couple times when you were on your skateboard by Makkasan ARL. Glad things are going well!
beautiful! 💗 is there supposed to be flooding in Bangkok soon?:o
Love your channel !!! I’m from the U.S. moving to Thailand and love your small motorcycle…. Like to know someone selling one !!!
Oh awesome, yeah it seems so many people don’t have actual hobbies here
Great stuff.👏
Thanks matey!
Thank you so much, I definitely wanna cover some motocross stuff or do some more Moto riding here too 😊
@keisone Well you've got a Hilux Ute now to put a dirtbike in the back of and head for the hills. Enduro riding was my thing. I did a little bit of MX as a kid.
Very Good advice most people do not make it after a year or two Thailand is intense you have to have discipline.
Yeah that’s right, it took me a couple years to chill out, but so thankful for the changes 😊
Thanks for the great advice mate and the positive attitude
Thank you so much 😊
@keis one Hey Adam, i own a couple Toyotas here in California myself ('93 Pickup, '93 Camry) Don't forget to change your Cabin Filter under the glove box! 😀
Where do you live. Wife and I will be moving there and looking for house to rent. Great videos
Have you installed an alarm on your bike?
While I agree with eveything you said, you basically just described growing up. Lots of people who don't leave their own country, go through the same phases you described.
I live in the Philippines and the poor quality of food and poor housing standards are getting to me. I love Thai food! Can you talk about how one can stay long term in Thailand? I travel internationally for fun every 6-8 weeks but prefer a legit long term Visa solution so I can sign a 6 month lease in Thailand. Thanks!
If what you say is true…you shouldn’t have any issues with getting dtv.
@@jasonclark6543 Sorry what is dtv
Great to see you in this latest chapter of life, having watched you since you first arrived in Thailand. Here's to many more as-yet-unimaginable chapters in future!
Thank you so much 😊
currently trying to get out that 2nd phase...
Experience matters!!!
Holy crap that's some impressive electrical mechanic abilities. But don't tell me you noticed a difference in the spark plugs.
For now 🤔🤣
Cool vid 😍
Haha nice, yeah it was my 3rd year that I really slowed down 😊
@@keisone I and my liver hope so 👍🏻🤣
2:20 First Phase Grinding and Broke
2:41 Second Phase Have a Plan
2:55 Third Phase Get Settled
Mate another amazing video Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't. Work hard grind, and don't waste your money on meaningless things save while everyone parties go out drinking and wasting their money you are working hard saving, and investing in yourself so later you can live they cannot
Oh I love that!!
Great little cafe that, been a couple of times before.
This truck will be fun to work on comgrats on your purchase.
Yeah gonna have a lot of fun with it 😊
I guess the title is a sarcastic one. You seem to be doing well. I am looking at a teaching job on the outskirts of Bangkok
Great video Adam❤❤❤ Wonderful topic…..We’re so happy where you’re at now in life! Thanks for sharing this vlog 😊
Thank you so much 😊
What gear you using bro
Bought your mushroom deal. Been wanting to try them for a while now, and that’s a bargain.
Oh awesome mate, please let me know how you go with them!
Wise words.
Cheers brother!
nice to see you in a good place in your journey bro, inspiring watching your walk in life
Thank you so much!!
You got the ute...that will make longer range trips with the bike more doable :)
That’s exactly the plan!
Life is like bowling bro not every day ull knock down all 10 pins but but your next attempt is just as important. So happy to have been around long enough to see u evolve and grow. 100k not long to go now brother
Haha I love that, thanks mate!!
@@keisone I just thought of it on the spot 🤣🤣 I may not be the content creator on your level but I am still going to continue with it I feel like I've grown and improved over the year
12:44 - wtf happened to that wiring?
On a serious note, great video! I'm on a plane in 7 hours, bound for Thailand.
I've been many times before, always combining work and play and I've still got plenty of party left in me.
This time, I'm looking to establish a second home and get into a (mostly) healthy routine. Wish me luck! 🙏
the toyota, it was 129,000 bht ? thats $5,500 AUD ... ? thats a good buy
Haha yeah they are cheap as chips here!
I don’t blame telling ppl not to come to your spot 🤣 I have a few spots in bkk that I’m the only foreigner there and it’s really refreshing 😊 9:38
The real question is, will Verstappen win Las Vegas GP
I made the decision to move to Thailand after my first visit.
You did very well in a short time.
Well done
Thanks so much brother!
Next video coming….While I’m living my best life in Thailand.
what’s the name of the restaurant please 👍🙏
man thats the life!
i cry so hard every day in thailand 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why? Lol
@@keisone because it is a good way to keep newbies out of the country. thailand is too popular now. you should do a "fake" video about how awful thailand is now to keep people away otherwise they will take over bangkok and your new restaurant featured in your vid today.
Bro you have to go "Cabbages and Condoms" it's a restaurant in Pattaya. You will thank me later honestly 🙏 great food and the location there with Rabits jumping around is amazing.
Oh yeah! I keep hearing about this place, must check it out!
@@keisone the entry is epic. Bring you'r GF and go there by night. They have a nice spot with a table up in a tree to with sea view😘
This video must have been shot a few days ago because the past few days its been raining hard for a few hours in the afternoons. Looks like you had a taste of the rain so much for the nice day 😂. I was outside when it rained and soaked my shoes 🤬
What ever happened to Dan? Used to love his intro’s on vlogs..
Shame RUclips shafted him..
He still around?
Love the video. I am the opposite. Not into partying except Smoking weed sometimes. I have mental health issues and Thailand would enable me to go out more and to afford to not live like crap on what I make on VA money. In the U.S I struggle just to afford a place. There I can just be in the moment and do my own thing and still afford to live.
