Joe showed that he always knew what he was talking about and you have to know how competitive rap gets even amongst friends. I'm always trying to smoke anyone I'm actually on a track with
Believing he would smoke Cole if it ever went there. Gladiator sport
It's more competition than beef with them. They're Hip Hop's version of Prince and Michael Jackson. I agree with Joe when it comes to a direct battle between the two the ship has sailed if they were going to do that it should've been in 2013. These subliminals between the two will continue until both decide to work together again and I don't see that happening any time soon.
They have the weirdest relationship, they give each other a of shout out on social media then sub diss each other on a song
@@Chill_Brill It's similar to Drake's relationship with Kanye
@@gilfordmccormack8140 Not really imo. Kendrick and Drake have been in a cold war for a decade now. The Control verse was in 2013 and we're in 2023. It's mostly subliminals and no direct attacks. I will never doubt Joe Budden ever again
Idk if kendrick feels that way about cole, but I’m pretty sure drake does. That video came out of drake at cole’s concert saying cole was one of the best to touch the mike. I also saw something where cole actually admitted to showing Dre kendrick. So I’m sure kendrick has a lot of respect for cole
Kendrick respects Cole they've worked together plenty of times.
I look at this different. Drake is petty enough to big up Cole to slight Kendrick.
@@danieljenkins7951 that’s what I thought
Kendrick and Cole always been cool plus they bring each other out at concerts for years.
@@SoulOfTheSouth You do realize kendrick and drake also know each other from young. Lol who knows what their beef is but stop it !
Here after "Not Like Us" and the 72 hours that ended Drakes image as emcee and as man.
Here after hearing Like That lol
Cole is 100 percent in that tier.
Most definitely
no he is not
Drake and Cole are both not on kendricks level at all. Gkmc and tpab alone kills Drake and Coles entire career. I have no shame of saying that at all from a lyrical standpoint and production wise. They both struggle to make classic records of the level of Madvilliany, Paul's Boutique, Illmatic, Food and Liquor, Black on Both Sides etc. Both are rappers who sincerely don't have a classic record and do not live up to the hype they have at all. I'm not saying they are trash but instead consistently average artist. Kendrick is easily better than both of them by far.
Cole is the better out of the 3
Sure. But he's not 1 or 2. It's a clear gap between him and Kendrick/Drake.
Joe was 100 percent right and if u actually rap you know how competitive it gets im trying to enbarrass any rapper who features me brothers and all lol.
I'm here for the back and forth between KDot and Drake. Both iconic artist who don't like each others styles or respect each other's opinions. However, the respect each other skillet so that's why they take shots. They both listening to each other and dissecting eachnothers bars. I love it. Keep it on wax. They both going to the HOF in my book and nobody loses. Especially the fans that love word play are real rhymes
They deff respect each other’s opinions
Two weirdos
This shit aged immaculately. But y'all don't think hw rappers b thinking I KNOW Kendrick don't think that lol
Joe knows wtf he talking about... here in the month of June😅
Drake and Kendrick are pushing their pen 🖊️ to the max but not explicitly dissing each other. They both listen to each other music and make a specific diss for each other. I am all for it because it makes them make better music. They both legends at the end of the day and I am just grateful to witness it.
drake pushing a pen you mean his writers at OVO? 😂
@@BarryBlockZay617 yah bruh he got them niggas working sweat shop shifts. I think that is the reason why Kendrick ain’t fucking with him.
@@brandoniracks-edelin5865 it's Cole overall that's really pushing he's pen.
Drake does not write his own shit. Cole and kendrick are better than Drake.
that was Quentin Miller pushing that IYRTITL pen for Drake tho
The only way to compete is to be able to take one's style and do it better.
Drake and Kendrick make two different types of music: music that appeals to a different type of demographic and settings.
For example: you can a lot of Drake songs in the club, at a party, in the strip club, driving at night, etc. Kendrick's music is not like that. You can't play TPAB at a club etc. It's a great record and one of my favorites, but I don't listen to Kenny for that.
So you're not really competing if your music fulfills a different purpose. The Lox and Dipset in a versus made sense because is kinda fulfills the same thing. Even Mobb Deep and all those guys, it's like the same thing.
But Drake and Kendrick are like apples and oranges. It's both fruit but it's not the same. It's both under hip hop but it's not same.
Now Kendrick and Cole make music that fulfill the same demographic, but cole doesn't really make hits like Kenny, but actual raps he can rap about the same. They both make conscious rap that represents the disenfranchised black folk in the hood.
Drake raps about his relationships with women, not being taken serious by his peers, and validating his suburban upbringing. IT'S NOT THE SAME MUSIC.
slightly disagree. kendrick can do what drake does (make commercially prosperous music), gkmc and damn are some of the longest charting hh albums ever with many hit records. he just doesnt do it a lot (mainly cos i think he doesn't want to)
drake CAN NOT make a TPAB. he doesn't have enough money to find someone to write an album like that
@MyPimpinAfro14 you lost the argument by bringing in the ghost writing allegations. Even as a joke it's corny in 2023.
But I'll give you a pass since you had decent counter argument. I'll say this:
TPAB is not in anyone's rotation. Nobody wants to costantly hear about that shit. We don't want to be bombarded with real life when we're living it ourselves. Doesn't make us feel good.
Kendrick is selfish and too naïve to think making music is gonna solve hood politics that have been going on for generations.
This whole messiah complex he has, and the fact that he won't make hit music consistently because he thinks it's beneath him is stupid. YOU'RE AN ENTERTAINER, ENTERTAIN US! IF YOU WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD, GO START SOCIAL PROGRAMS! If I'm gangbanging and i hear Kendrink kumbaya music about black oppression, I'm not gonna be like "Gee, maybe I need to stop 🤔." It's silly. They are good art projects, but they won't save the world, or hood problems.
Drake has no arrogance in thinking he can save anybody. He knows his role. He's an entertainer. He makes good music for us to enjoy anytime.
They are not the same. They are not better than each other, they're different.
(See how i actually argued the original point and gave you more than what you did?)
@@aaronbazildifference is Kendrick has massive hit songs under his name, but Aubrey ain't got a single album on the level of Kendrick's.

@@post-surreal kendricks best album is gkmc and take care is better. also drake has ten times the amount of hits kendrick has
I think the reason we don't see Drake vs Kendrick is the same reason we don't see LeBron vs KD anymore. It's no coincidence LeBron or KD is always hurt when their teams play eachother. Same as a diss battle for them 2. If their gonna battle, it's gotta be worth it to them. What do they gain by doing this?? Same as why Eminem don't go to the battle rap arena. It's like, for what?
Kendrick def sees Cole as a respectable Peer. I doubt he would’ve said his name on Savior in the regard he did if he didn’t. Same as Control. I also think ppl forget Kedrick Jab on the TDE Cypher at Drake lol

I think they both have respect for one another and admire each other's artistry, so neither one of them wants to clearly initiate the beef on wax, but deep down they both know that they cant share the throne and only one of them can be on top.
They both make different kind of music I don’t see how you could possibly ever have one person who is the best it’s impossible
That throne shit is fake, all psychological. Looking back, Rakim and Kane were both just fucking dope, period. The proof that the shit is BS Eurocentric mindset is no one would even put G Rap in those convos back then, or LL cause he made “girl records.”
