The timer says 36:34.04 at the end of the run, but the frame count had it at 36:33.917. A 35 minute run is theoretical if everything lined up on this route, especially with better early-game execution. Had to slow down to get the double oak stake. One death to blob boost, although first try on second life kept the run alive.

i've beaten 1,3, and 4 i might as well give 2 a shot.. i never even loaded the game once and just assumed it was as bad as what everyone said it is.. but a mainline castlevania game can't be THAT bad. can it?

CV2 can be a tricky game to figure out at first, but it's a pretty easy game to clear once you know where to go to get stuff.

I think it's a good game let down by a bad translation. If the hints were more coherent and lies more clearly telegraphed like how they were in the original Japanese text, it would be a lot less cryptic for the average player. I personally love it and think it's worth playing for the atmosphere and sense of adventure. Just keep a walkthrough handy or use a retranslation mod.

The grind looks deceptively easy although it takes a lot of practice to get the rhythm and movement down.
