You’re appreciated, I’m truly grateful for your willingness to share your knowledge.
The groin stretch at 2:37 is one of the best opening stretches if u do martial arts or any exercise. If you struggle to keep ur back in one straight line in downward dog, u can bend ur knees slightly and keep ur back straight. Your hamstrings will stretch out after practicing that regularly. Keeping the back straight gives u the best benefit. I love this channel, all the videos are taught correct form xxx
I'll be trying this tomorrow morning. I appreciate all your videos Jeff! They have literally changed my life. I have fibromyalgia, back and joint issues, and was in a very low place. Then I stumbled across your videos and they helped me massively!! I'm now back training several times a week and in a good place again. Thanks AthleanX 😀
Okay, I just tried it this am. Now I’m warming up for a workout. That was a pretty good short stretch routine! My legs do feel great. The lateral lower leg stretch is something I haven’t done before. I can feel it.
Thanks, great sequence! I change the order of positions starting from the low bow to the figure 4s to the thread-throughs to the down dog and finishing standing up. So, floor to standing. You're great and I've learned a lot from you. Thank you. 🙏
Longtime fan, Jeff! I turned 67 yesterday ... I'm looking forward to implementing this tomorrow morning - I'll let you know how it goes! FRIDAY morning update: Driving my heels to the ground during the Downward Dog was the hardest part for me - I'll have to work on that! At my age 😉, I do better with stretching AFTER a 30+ minute walk or treadmill session using a Precor 240i StretchTrainer in the gym. There are a couple of movements in the 10-minute Precor routine that really help open/stretch your hips and lower back. But any movement to get your day going, is A Good Thing - Thanks for the video, Jeff!
I've had sore thigh and hip muscles from a recent HIIT exercise, and that last stretch nailed exactly where I needed it. I'll be bringing this into my morning routine, thanks!
Rolling out of bed sore in combination with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training keeps me in a perpetual state of stiffness. Looking forward to trying this tomorrow morning! Thank you Jeff!
I stretch and meditate before bed. I don't wake up stiff in any way. Every morning I do a 3-minute sometimes 5-minute deep squat, preferably shirtless and shoeless outside at sunrise whether there is frost on the ground or dew, and hang on my bar both active&passive
Recently got injured from moving heavy stuff. I believe part of it is lack of mobility exercises in my workout regimen. Will definitely try this as I heal from my back strain.
Jeff That’s exactly what I need in the morning. Starting tomorrow that’s what’s going to happen. My biggest problem is my tight hips and it prevents me mobility in the morning. Thanks Bro as always keep them coming.
Hi Jeff, can you please do a video on exercises for static nerve. I have seen physio for 2 months. I do rehab mornings and at night. And I still can't sit down without having massive sharp pain in the middle of my left glute. And travelling down my hamstring. Then calf and top of my foot. I have had 16 surgerys on my shoulders. I on each knee and Groin. I don't think God likes me. Anyway, the longest I can sit for is 30 minutes. Because of all your videos, I've been able to get back into training. The little tweeks you give to your exercises make it possible for me to train. I can't train heavy, but I can still train. For this I'm very appetitive . Thanks Tasman
I just discovered this channel as i was looking for scalpular winging solution. That video is over 7 years old. & i am using it as therapy for my back. This guy is literally the fitness Goat and has been going strong for years its amazing to see how someone is still going strong for so long
Love it! Give us more science backed stretching! I've noticed my mobility has decreased as my muscles increased (also getting older). You're channel trained me, now you need to maintain me!
Second day update: I did it in full and feel really good. Plus added the previous morning routine exercises like lats stretch and lower back. And this is perfect morning routine!
Thanks Jeff 🧘🏽♀️for the reminder on the active PIGEON POSE 😂 one of the best stretches to loosen up the whole lower body, I stretch right out of the bed in the A.M. to start the day relaxed, comfortable and confident!
I really like this kind of Athlean-x videos. Well, this ones, the checklist ones, the ones about correctives, the 'how to do things right' ones, I love them all hahaha
Jeff lifting hundreds of lbs: no sweat. Jeff doing some yoga poses: struggling for breath. But I feel you, I can lift with just some grunting but stretching, man, I’m swearing out loud like mad. On a serious note, this is amazing. I’ve doing some of those irregularily and it’s great. Feeling strong but stiff is meh. Feeling strong and easy is so much better!
FINALLY!!! SOME YOGA/MOBILITY WARM UP, ACTIVATION, ALIGNMENT. The only thing you're leaving out is remind people to breathe very deeply while they do all this stuff. All of that movement with shallow constricted breath not as good as if you are breathing super deep and opening up your diaphragm and rib cage and back internal muscles.
Looks like amazing stretches. With severely limited flex in my knees (arthritis, worn meniscus, and deteriorated articular cartilage), these terrify me, but will try. These also seem great to add to the stretch routine for my hockey playing son.
Made me feel quite emotional doing these stretches. My lower back feels wrecked and I’m really struggling with nearly all these stretches. I’m as flexible as a concrete block. 🤞🏼 These can help unlock my hips and save my sanity
i do this every morning beside other streches and mobility exercises to get rid of that low back stifness and it helps release that tention completely, but i took that from your video for back warmup - feels great, thanks. also i apreciate all your other videos, you are the best coach.
This was awesome! Will start doing this dailt. Any other key / critical daily stretches from our injury prevention and fitness and physical therapist guru, JC, would be great.
Half pigeon is one of the best stretches ever. That's the 90° stretch. I do all of those pretty much daily. Stretching when you first wake up is an amazing way to start your day. Stretch/yoga daily.
I'm usually not stiff when I come out of bed (or I don't feel it) except very very tired in my limbs if I trained the evening before. But morning stretching is never a bad thing and seems to be even more true at every new decade if I read the comments... Thank you very much! One could combine it with some inspiring music to feel even better! :) I'll try this...
I don't necessarily agree with static stretching in the morning. I think dynamic stretching works better for warming up the body in the morning, even isometric stretching vs. static could be a better way of preparing the body for the day.
After only 3 days of starting this I had no more back pain back pain. After a week I was sleeping better. Don't know if they're related but I'm still doing it and still no pain and good sleep
Jeff, you are the best and have been a member since 2012. But I doubt if 75% of the people who viewed this, can do this routine furst thing in the morning, night, or any time in between. I know I can't! At least without hurting myself! Could be wrong, but... I doubt it. Just Sayin'
Ty once again Jeff.. I do all of this on some level every morning but you really honed in on these exercises…wonderful..truly .. this does make a huge difference…❤❤
What I do when I wake up, is deadhang for like a minute (can break it up). After doing that, the posture is fucking fantastic (and it wakes you up more)... like it's a physical struggle to get back into poor posture after that (for like a few minutes). Makes you feel up and ready to go. It's a really good starting point to carry on with, rather than feeling like weak jelly and then continuing with that feeling and posture into your day. Also nice for the spine to decompress a bit, and good for retaining shoulder mobility so you can put your arms right above your head as you age, without potential issues arrising there.
Wow love this. Great reminder of how important stretching is in the morning. I use to do yoga 3 days a week to compliment weight training and since stopping I’ve been tight and hurting. Love you guys thanks Jeff & Jess🌟
I always need to take a dump first😂 For a couple of years now I've followed a small routine with some adjustments that Matt d'Aquino (Beyond grappling) once posted most mornings, and it helps me tremendously. I'll try this to, I think. What also helps me in terms of getting a good start is taking a 2-ish minute cold shower and do push ups inbetween tasks
Hello Jeff, I am a great fan of your work, I currently reside in Chile, therefore I cannot ask you for help in person, I would like to know if you can make a short video of pain in the dorsal foot, since I have been in pain for a week stinging on the back of the foot, when squeezing the leg near the ankle, I think it is the Extensor Digitorum Longus, I would really appreciate your help to treat it at home, thank you very much 🙏

I don't think that's stretching the groin, more like the piriformis which can cause a lot of pain when tight.
Is that a pigeon pose?

Beautiful functional stretches to start the day. Thanks for sharing.
Whenever I have an ailing body part, Jeff is my go to on how to help. Best part, it works no b.s.. my back, hip flexors, rotator cuff. Thanks jeff
These are really good for sciatica too. Especially the last one, I needed to do these daily again. Thanks for reminding me 👍
Jeff, can you do videos about how to sprint faster? Maybe a full workout?
Thank you! What a simple but highly effective way to start the day. Brilliant!
Nice one - added in with the pull-up and/or hanging doorframe
