    Great video. Had to rewind a lot, but by golly I got her!!! I just got into making eyes and ears and is so thrilled now with making different kinds of hats. Also got into making childrens teddy bears and bunnies. So much to learn and every day I keep finding something new to add to my self taught crocheting. Thanks for your time and this video. Ox. 😘

    Just finished one in pink. It’s very cute but I kinda hoped it had the v shaped front like the pattern pictures, it’s why I picked this hat to make!

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  6 лет назад +3

      I think the "v shape" you see is only a optical illusion as it sits on the baby's head. I have the original here at the house and it doesn't have a v shape.

    I'm making a owl hat for a four year old .

    I'm very New at crocheting hats like this.

    I am a beginner and I really want to make this hat but it's really difficult to follow because you move too quickly. Do you have a beginner, slower pace instructional, or perhaps recommend another site.

    thank you for this lovely pattern 😍
    i want to ask a few questions though,
    Can i switch to single crochet stich after the 4th round?!
    if i wanted to do this pattern in single crochet stich from the beginning it will be tighter ? cause i like to do hats in single crochet it doesn't have alot of holes.
    and i want to know if i changed l the hook size an yarn size would be different? cause iam using a 4 mm hook and a medium size yarn
    thank u in advance 🙂

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  7 лет назад

      If you start to change stitches you are then going to change gauge and alter the pattern. If you are looking for a hat that has single crochets for the entire piece I would rather see you find one that is written that way instead of changing this one. Having said that, if you have a favorite pattern you like to use for hats, you could use that and just add the ears, earflaps, and face portion. It would be okay.

    • @aalaaelshenawy9764

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  8 лет назад +3

      You will have to make the top of the hat larger...maybe an extra one or two rounds of increases.

    crocheting over your ends DO finish off very nicely and you don't have to weave the ends in. I really believe in saving time and making it look nice and finished

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  6 лет назад

      It has been my experience that once you wash the item with ends just crocheted over tend to pop out. I have many items made by others that have done this. It is best to always weave in ends.

    You said you don't use a knot to do the ears but of course you did. You tied it together with a knot.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  6 лет назад

      hahah, well played. Yes, the knot to hold the tassels on the ears.

      Are you watching and following along with the pattern?

  • @Anna42132

    5.5 hook makes that hat too wide at the bottom.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  7 лет назад

      If your hat is too wide, then you need to check your gauge and make sure you are getting the same gauge as the designer. Remember you can change your hook size to get the correct gauge.

    @marysalyers1537 Год назад

    I watch a lot of videos and I must say yours has frustrated me to the point of tears!! I had to rewind so many times. I'm moving on to someone else's instructions. Would it have been to much to go through the second ear instead of having to rewind? You just blurted out the border (must have been to time consuming) I rewound that 3 times and still don't get what you mean. Maybe try watching your own video and see how well you do (and remember, some of us are beginners)
