Hope you are doing well sir! Thanks for another solid video! Every season, Josh improves in some capacity, whether it's minor adjustments or the type of massive step forward that we just don't see in the NFL. In general, I feel like he doesn't get enough credit for his work and dedication off the field, when he could be partying it up and taking it easy during the offseason. I feel like if Cam Newton would have worked on his mechanics early on and fixed his throwing issues, his career would have went a lot different. I often think back to that Super Bowl fumble with the game on the line, where Cam basically b*schedule out and didn't go for the ball. Then I think of that botched snap that Josh took against the Cowboys on what I believe was a crucial 4th down play and he not only recovered the ball but forced his way through and over several defenders to pick up the first. Two completely different mindsets, summed up in two single plays.

I can tell you exaclt what happened with the Chargers. First half Bucs play a lot of zone defense which Herbert and McConkey can work with and it went well. The second half the bucs loaded up the pass rush and played man coverage on bad chargers receivers who cant separate versus man coverage. Meanwhile Herbert was extremely limited in mobility with the ankle injury and was unable to escape pressure. The chargers defense couldn't get off the field and got worn out and gave up a lot of explosive plays late.

I looked at Kevin Cole's adjusted score to see if he agreed with you regarding the Patriots game being closer than the score. Cole adjusted score focuses on the predictive stable metrics like success rate and recalculates things like fumbles (in the real game only team recovers, but over time its a 50-50 things so for every fumble he recalculates so both teams have a 50% chance of fumbling, slightly devalues turnovers and big plays (they are still calculated in to his adjusted score but are weighted less than in real life because they are less stable and predictive)......He had the Cardinals winning by 1 in the adjusted score so your point about the game being closer than the score agrees with his analysis.

In terms of the Commanders--the Saints outplayed the Commanders in the second half and the Commanders had like 6 separate plays in the late third and fourth quarter that could have effectively ended the game. 3 of the 6 were deep ball to Terry McLaurin that they just missed. 1 of the 3 misses to Terry was a blown coverage where nobody was covering McLaurin and Jayden really should have put air under it because there was no defender, but instead threw it like a normal deep pass. 2 of the 6 were missed interceptions. One was by Jeremy Chinn where it looked like he had a play on the ball but just didn't go for the interception. The other was a layered pass where Rattler failed to get it over Luvu and Luvu got both hands on the ball but dropped a fairly easy interception. The sixth and final one was on the final possession with the missed fg where Daniels hit Dyami brown on second and long with like a two minutes left for a 20 yard pass to the Saints 8 yard line (up 20-13), but the play was called back on a holding on Nick Allegretti (legit holding) and the Commanders then threw an incompletion on second down, before like a 3 yard gain on a draw on 3rd down before preceding to miss a 52 yard fg that would have sealed the game.
Its the NFL and while the Saints don't have anybody, but they played hard and played fairly well in the second half. Meanwhile, I think the Commanders took their foot off the gas some and just could noy regain the same intensity they had in the first half. The Eagles have a 10 game win streak and were that close to losing to both the Jags and Panthers so it happens, but it was a legit bad second half for the Commanders and they just could not hit on a play to end the game despite having six fairly close opportunities to effectively end the game as mentioned above.
Maybe a reminder that this Commanders team punched above their weight for the majority of the year and how important things like momentum can be where if you take your foot off the gas, it not always easy to regain that intensity and in the NFL you need that intensity to win unless you can just outtalent the other team, which the Commanders cannot.

Penalties and bad kicking room are what really did it for the Commanders in this game. 84 penalty yards against the Commanders, and several were on crucial downs. No kicking room to rely on. They're still playing above expectations, but that's only because Jayden can overcome some of these setbacks.
They're a 1 & done playoff team this year, and that's okay. Now that they know Jayden can ball, they'll start investing in better talent.

Mitch, love your NFL game analysis. You're one of the country's best analysts. As a 30+ year fan of both the Patriots and Redskins/Commanders, I'm laughing at your hatred toward and dissing of the Commanders. You sound like the jerky Boston sports radio blabbermouths. They hate the Commanders too, mainly because comparing the two teams (both 4-13 last year) is so favorable to the Commanders that its painful for them. Both started with high draft picks, lots of cap space, and new coaches and a new GM. The Commanders did it right; the Patriots... not so much. As a Patriots fan, I can see the jealousy. There's also the Drake Maye vs Jayden Daniels head-to-head competition. Patriots fan don't want to see Daniels outshine Maye... but Daniels has. Mitch, please stop drifting into fandom and return to being a great analyst... and your pick record will probably improve.

"They beat the ravens" "Steelers beat the ravens too"
Then the answer is that the ravens are just worse than both. Records, head to head, records vs good teams ect. The only thing Baltimore has over Philly is Lamar is better than hurts. It doesn't matter if philly is better at EVERYTHING else.
Pittsburgh is a bit trickier because their offense is kind of average, maybe slightly above. Pittsburgh has an elite defense, just not in the same way philly does. They're big play reliant and kind of make their way through turnovers. Which is "flukey" on the surface, but they do this in literally every game. Even against Philly they stayed in the game through turnovers. At that point it's not a fluke. Pittsburgh couldn't score because they played the #1 defense without their best offensive player. That was to be expected, and you can't pick and choose what wins impress you or not just to fit some kind of agenda. Pittsburgh beating baltimore shouldn't just be swept under the rug if you think baltimore is some superbowl darkhorse lol, I'm way higher than you on Pittsburgh yet I don't think highly of Baltimore at all. As for the "flukey" wins, Pittsburgh had the botched fake punt vs washington, they threw a burger in the redzone when they could've closed the baltimore game out, they threw a pick 6 to start the game vs cinci, and they had fields from weeks 1-6. You're making it seem like Pittsburgh is just playing flawless football and capitalizing off of teams beating themselves when they aren't. Aside from the Buffalo win, there really isn't anything baltimore has done that Pittsburgh hasn't, and Pittsburgh hasn't even played Buffalo. Pittsburgh has flaws (as does everyone except for quite literally philly), but baltimore has even more glaring flaws. They can't defend the pass, their dropback passing game is a concern in any playoff setting, their kicker and special teams in general have been a liability. They have Lamar Jackson and hope he can carry them through every big game. That's it.
Circumstances plagued both teams in GB vs PHI in Brazil. Philly if anything was supposed to start off slower due to all their new additions. It was a neutral field and philly won. Philly held a top offense (cinci) to 17 points on the road. They manhandled washington, they wiped the floor with the rams, they beat baltimore, and they comfortably beat Pittsburgh. Buffalo lost to both the rams and the ravens and failed to stop both, by the way. And one of philly's two losses were because of a dropped pass, if we're talking about flukes. They are undefeated since september. No other team can say that. You're ranking philly high because you don't have a choice, it's not hard to see that you don't actually want to lol. Just look at the way you talk about them.
Two things can be true. Philly handling Pittsburgh was impressive, Pittsburgh being in position to tie the game before Najee fumbled (not caused by the defense, he literally just lost the ball) without Pickens is also impressive. Pickens has been a top 10 receiver this year. He isn't just a player you can look over, especially because, like you said, Pittsburgh doesn't have good receivers outside of him.
