    High youth unemployment rate certainly isn't helping. Why would one get married and give birth to a baby if they cannot even feed themselves.

    My relative in Shanghai tells me that the government is now calling her to ask her what date she had her period. It's so ridiculously invasive and creepy. I wonder if the government will go from the one child policy in the past to required 2 children in the future.

      Not very high but much better than China. US women have 1.8 children on average.

      @@xiphoid2011 that’s the American women which also includes the FIRST GENERATION OF IMMIGRANTS namely from Latin America, who immigrated a generation ago.
      If you look at demographics of 3-4th + generation American women (women whose grandparents were American born) and you’ll see a birth rate lower than that of China ( far below the replacement rate of 2.1 children/woman), many just have one and don’t want more, if any at all ( especially in the urban areas or college educated women )
      it’s the same thing in the Eurozone and other developed Asian countries.
      In the current era;
      Lower birth rates have gone in tandem with economic growth, it’s the unfortunate fact.

    I love how every media outlet takes the CCP's numbers at face value and never fact checks them. I read an article a while back where you had independent demographers study China's population. They concluded China's total population was well below 1.4 billon and their TFR was well below what is being reported.

    Young people without job. Middle age people working overtime can't takecare of family. This is how efficient that our society achieved with all those technology. The problem gotta be cultural turning inwards.

    I'd like to clarify among the asian countries our country China isn't the worst, in terms of median age Japan is 50 Korea is 43 while our country is 40.

    Chinese 🇨🇳 regime is obsessed with GDP and population, so they cooked the numbers.
    The fact is:
    - China's GDP is about 4 trillion, 3rd after the US and Japan,
    - China's population has never been more than 1 billion. So, India has been the most populous country in the world for decades without knowing it.
