I love the vibrancy and the freshness coming from these techniques using lighter Grounds where you glaze on top of a very fluid loosely drawn and very thin underpainting - 🎶💜🎵
Buen video, lo mejor de su canal es que muestra tantos detalles históricos comprobados, que da placer mirarlos aunque entienda poco inglés. Siga así, señor Borrero, su trabajo en este espacio es único e insistituible.
Thanks Luis for these videos so full of information, one of the secrets to improve in painting is to study with the masters! Thanks again, and greetings from an Italian painter!
Hi Luis, Great video as always! If you're taking requests, I've been searching for the painting techniques of JAD Ingres. What's difficult for me is translating his palette into a modern palette along with mediums, drying time between glazes and scumbles, and his use of shadow colours. I too paint only in layers and build, and then towards the end will blend very little on the canvas (rarely). Titian's finger painting technique, that you demonstrated, I find myself doing this more intentionally and often!
¡Muchas gracias por tus excelentes enseñanzas y videos! Me gustaría preguntar si podría incluir pintoras. Por ejemplo, la pintora renacentista Sofonisba Anguissola. Un video sobre su trabajo en español: Sofonisba Aguissola, una pintora renacentista. Grazie mille!
Hello! Thank you for commenting. I think drawing from imagination has always been integral to making art. Most of the painting from these time periods are constructions from either life studies, direct observation or imagination.
I very much think that the best and most fluid and alive drawings are always a combination of observation, and memory and imagination coming from deep experience that is a kind of synkinaesthetic memory ….. 🎶💜🎵 …
Rubens drawing with a brush - letting the toned ground glow through… Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I understand now I am doing something backwards for long time
Do you think there were artists who were able to draw not from nature but from imagination?
I think only propaganda artists
