Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that Alan Franco is the first player in ATLUTD HISTORY to record THREE assists in ONE game and he is a CENTER BACK!!
Outside of that one HUGE-MONGOUS blunder in the first half when he got cute on the ball, he had an amazing game. The best game I’ve seen him play in our shirt. Tackling, 1V1 defending was amazing and he even carried the ball forward into the middle third and attacking 3rd a few times. I was very pleased to see his poise on the ball when he popped up on the right corner of the attacking 18 yard box combining with Lennon and Araujo
That's what happens when it's constantly undergoing changes I guess. College football game 2 Saturdays ago, then that Monday, then United last Friday, Falcons Sunday, and United tonight. Yeesh.
Wow wow wow. I know it's kind of early to tell, but this performance the past 2 games and the record for the past 7 has been of a MLS cup caliber team. It's just getting better and better. A brace from Josef, an absolutely beautiful goal from Araujo, a beautiful curler goal from a direct kick from barco, as well as solid defending from the back throughout the match. You really can't ask for more. Sure the midfield was a little stronger in 2018 with Nagbe and Almiron, but this attack with Josef, Barco, and Araujo all producing is on another level. The back line is also stronger; yes parky was amazing but nowhere near as athletic as any if our current center backs.
@@Qster83 dude I wish BUT that ain’t gonna happen. Araujo is the closest thing we’ve had to an Almiron replacement. He’s got nearly the same amount of speed, dribbling is equal BUT his shot taking and quality of the left foot are much improved. I don’t know that he is the defender that “Miggy” was but we will see over time. I know it’s early but honestly I think he’s the most talented player we’ve seen in our shirt yet. We’ll see what he looks like over a full season next year.
There’s just no way that this term couldn’t be good! A stacked roster like our boys should’ve played like this since the beginning of the season! goes to show that you can have amazing players but still have a bad team without a good coach. Vamos mi ATL!
Martinez the man but since Barco returned, He has change the pace of the game the forwards have to get back and run. Once the ball hits Barco feet he has one speed GO!!. and Its wearing defenses down. If they can land a speedy defensive back we might have a better chance. The Five stripes struggle against speedy forwards and mid fielders. Lets get rested up next on the pitch is D.C united with only 2 days of rest, its going to be tough.
Sadly, this clinic taught Cincinnati nothing. This team plays with no heart, and nothing changes. Oh, well, there is always next season (like we've been saying the last few seasons)...yeah, right, haha...
Same. I wondered if trying to find Josef was hamstringing the teams buildup and movement. BUT i am so glad I was wrong. The King is looking like he’s in a hybrid False 9/CF combo we had in the 2018 playoff run. Only thing I’m missing is rather then him dropping in to get touches is his wide movement to get touches. Could just be a tactical thing though.
@@dunbarcustomsound We don't have high hopes here for the coach or management. The "Stam Out" chants keep getting louder and louder. This organization needs a re-start button. They are going nowhere, and I do sometimes think their USL team was better than this one.
Well Atl Utd is the last team to win a championship( 2018). We have a great roster, but the past managers weren't working out. We finally have a manager!!!!
finally a top quality player in mls, luiz araujo. tired of watching overrated and overhyped players like barco, schoolboy decision making, average speed, loose first touch, inability to finish. one glance you know there's a gulf in class between the two.
The same Barco that plays a completely different position and is absolutely having a breakout year? They’re both great, quit trying to split hairs over which is better when they do different things.
@@carsonbaird7407 go watch real players in europe and you’ll notice the difference. big difference and the fact you even question it means either you never play the game at a decent level or never watch higher level players live. barco is on the same level as jordan morris etc, they both have loose first touch and when they move they seem in a rush not under control. brandon aaronson one glance you knew he’s quality, luiz araujo, even if you never watch mls before they stand out.
No, I think that’s actually the pronunciation. For instance Rosetto’s name is pronounced Ho-zeh-too. I assume the Brazilian pronunciation of some names is just different from how we would pronounce it.
I am now happy to watch Atlanta United's games. I hope we've completely turned things around

Araújo is becoming my new favorite. Reminds me of Asad + Almirón combined.

At least one Atlanta football team can win in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Still waiting on the Falcons...
Funny 😆 cause it’s true

We moved above the playoff line tonight. The team is looking better.
The unique color of that art turf in Atlanta is a trademark itself now I guess, hehe :D

Our WB’s/FB’s are quality. And our back ups (Hernandez/Mulroney) would start for multiple teams in MLS. On the outside back situation, we good.

If there was relegation, they would be in USL league one
