if your not familiar with mountain bike shocks - start with the rebound dial in the middle - then adjusted from there for preference. In this case the middle of the rebound dial is 15 clicks from either side. I've found the middle rebound setting to work quite well on the S18 for general smoothness/stability ride quality

Thank you! I do very little maintaining in general, just charge and ride that’s it. Same thing for my monster which has about 3k miles on it, one of the huge plus of EUCs since they are pretty simple machines.
The only problem might be encounter is that shock support can hook on something and can be easilly broke. hope with it has a extra spare of it.🙄🤔hope next time with a protective cover.

Say what you want, but I like the speakers on my KS18XL. I know people don't want to hear my music so I keep it at a level so pedestrians know when I am behind them. There is nothing more annoying than people blasting music on their boom boxes, cars, motorcycles, boats, EUC's, etc., but I believe it is a safety factor as well. Yeah, the side lights are a bit gimmicky, and I care less about them, but other people think they are cool. Thanks for the excellent review.
Oh nothing against the speaker, just that what company throw in tends to be cheap and sounds terrible anyway and the ppl here who play music usually carry Bluetooth speaker anyway. Thanks!
Nice review Hsiang! My S18 arrived last week. It was frustrating AF unboxing locked, speed-limited, and getting the shock setup. But NOW... OMG what a wheel. Today I figured out how to push it past the natural speed wobble (18 mph on this wheel, vs 25 mph on msx). The weight 1 side technique works but not with knees down to the kuji-pads level... Anyway, YEA MAN! its nice having a suspension. 30 mph is kinda slow and makes me nervous AF about not having more speed margin. maybe Gotway will do better next year. But for now, THIS is my favorite wheel. With winter approaching my MSX will be a favorite for its knobby tire... but maybe by then I can get a knobby on my S18.
@@Thrillowatt Yes. My MSX has a "natural wobble" at 25 mph. My KS S18 has a "natural wobble" at 18 mph. Riding at or near those speeds I've figured out how to "dampen" the wobbles via putting weight to one side. Except for the deep knees tendency to convert side-side to steering wobble on the S18... as long as I stand tall... its easy to get past the natural speed wobble and go yet faster. Before going faster its interesting to stay at that speed and try dampening stances while being able to slow down or squat when it gets too wobbly.
This has been a really difficult decision but I think I've finally settled on the V11 for 3 very boring reasons. 1) It looks easier to lock up. 2) Kick stand. Though it kinda looks like an accident waiting to happen 3) The light on the V11 is really bright I cruze. I go get groceries. I ride to work and lock up my V10F for hours at a time. I don't go around jumping off of everything. The InMotion better suits my boring riding/life style.
I love the way the S18 looks and would love to own one but in my country a V12 is only 600 more so I would rather have much bigger battery and more head room in performance.
Damn that looks nice. I have a V10F but I really want to start trail riding. I was gonna get the V11 but I bet the Kingsong would be better in the hills near my place.
Hsiang How about the pedal size? I have really big feet and appreciate Inmotion’s X-large pedals. If the S18 is even a little bit smaller that might be a deal breaker
Great job buddy👍 When I graduate from my Mten3 perhaps by that time King Song will have not only a Springless Special Gas Suspension and have the ability to to travel over 100 miles........hmmmmm I can wait.......LOL
LOL I am not sure about the 100miles part since more battery would also mean more weight, that is unless there’re some crazy break through in battery tech in the next few years!

LOL I am very skeptical if Veteran will come out with a suspension wheel anytime soon, the challenge of adding a suspension for a high speed wheel is even more difficult to solve and for a new company like Veteran its not worth the risk. As to the S18, IMHO its the best off road EUC, period. It’s the most fun I ever had riding those trails and it climbed slops even the MSP had trouble with.
With all the beautiful exposed parts, I would appreciate to see some comments on what to expect in case on crash of the s18. Isn’t major damage to the wheel likely with even a small crash?
Hsiang one of the few who can waste 10 minutes of my time and throw a monkey wrench in my decision making process and still make it thoroughly enjoyable! Btw, Hsiang will your full review be on the pre-production or the production model?
How does the handling of the S18 production model compare to the v11? I see a lot of reviews mentioning that the v11 feels more solid handling-wise and that the S18 feels wobbly while breaking and has trouble breaking hard and fast. What's your experience Hsiang?
The reverse, v11 is higher and so the control is slightly more vague, there’s also a tiny bit of play on its slider as compare to the s18. S18 feels like a BMW and the V11 a Mercede
I was set on the v11. For so long . But after this your video. . I'm leaving towards the s18. What intrigued me was when you mention you'll never got that mpg max . I never do iether so why not go with the tad bit slower than the v11..
Neither wheels are setup for high speed runs and yes the V11 is slightly faster in ideal condition but again, speed aren’t what these wheels are build for.
Hello mate, I am getting King Song 16S because that is only available in India. Can you please tell me what's the expected life time of an EUC?? In kilometres of years whatever..
EUCs are very simple machines, motor, battery and tires. Tires wear out after thousands of KMs and your battery capacity will prob drop after hundreds of charge cycle. Other than that electric motor last forever as long as you don’t throw it down a hill.
Nice vis but why did you not reviewed the production model? The proto is well know and nothing news from previous reviews. What we really want is your feeling about the "suitcase mode", a inside look, riding experience with a heavier wheel and thicker pads, etc. I'm a bit worried about the quality control... Check parts 3:30 and 3:47, what's your opinion?
The level of fit and finishes on the V11 is going to be nicer, but the s18 is more robust since the suspension mechanism is more heavy duty. For day to day commuting the v11 is nicer, but if you want it to survive a tumble down the mountain side, s18.
@@yoneezy123 not this wheel but I have certainly fallen quite a few times, think of it like snowboarding or skiing you're gonna fall. this is why you'll see ppl fully padded up in motorcycle gear when they ride higher speed wheels!
V11 vs S18 comparison doesn't make sense. Like comparing a Jeep suspension and gas mileage to a sedan 4 door. They both can both be driven on the road or 'off road", but it's definitely driver specific.
‘Push the S18 to its limits’ or ‘your’ limits? 😉😂😎 Great review btw. Spot on analysis. Few have done it so well for this new breed of wheel. Get mine next week😊
Would a bigger battery reduce the off road and tricks capability from the extra weight? Have you had a chance to try a few wheels off road or on skate parks? (checked out your channel after comment and gave a sub, would really be interested in your opinion as you've got some extreme action and crash experience) Chooch had the opinion that he wouldn't add any more weight or go for more range in slower technical riding.
Scott Daltonalomes hi Scott iv got a 18L and 18XL and a veteran Sherman “ I like EUC with range “ iv had a go on the s18 and it’s not for me “ it looks great “ and I seem to got bad wobbles when I was breaking “ just wish it had more range . Iv got me MSS coming in a week or so thanks for subscribing mate stay safe 🙏🇬🇧
More weight is not better, it makes the vehicle less nimble and less fun. It's only worth more weight (ie; bigger battery) if you really NEED the bigger range. Remember even if that extra range is nice on SOME trips, you have to lug around all that extra weight on EVERY trip... 🙂
V8 will probably be the easiest one to learn on as it is lighter and more maneuverable. You can certainly learn on the v11 or the s18 also but it’ll prob hurt more when you drop those wheels while learning.
Production model s18 is 25kg not 22kg. So +3kg from all review will changes dynamic of the wheel and range. V11 production model is better than pre-production( battery 1420 to 1500, motor 2000 to 2200w, suspension travel. . S18 will be worse property. heavier and essentially it will change it completely. Need production model full review
I rode both and honestly did not feel much difference from a ride quality perspective. The owner of that wheel also swapped the suspension for a higher quality one so its no longer stock.
@@OWGAC as always a thougtfull answer, regarding safety the potholes in the streets and unexpected bumps will probably not lead to crash as often as no-suspension wheels?
Great video! You're the Casey Neistat of EUCs ! If I were to ask you, which unicycle would you recommend for a beginner willing to spend under 1k USD? If you'd tell me to invest more, which EUC would be the best you'd recommend? Thank you for your time if you do find time to reply to this question :) Orlando
I’d suggest buying the best wheel you can find used! Preferably a gotway cuz you get a bit more for your money but you’ll probably have to do more maintenance and repairs, but great learner wheels!
I don’t like that all the reviews I’ve seen have been “preproduction.” With all the changes ks has promised, seems a little pointless to watch:/ When will we get to see a production version?
The only change aside from cosmetic improvements are some additional weight, I rode the production version and it felt no different than the preproduction. Aside from much nicer looking in black!
I have watched all of your videos and absolutely love the content, editing and the trips around NYC. I do have a few queries however, being that your pronunciation, articulation and vocabulary are as good as any native English speaker, how have you got to this level of English but neglect to pluralise dozens of words in all your videos? Is it intentional in order to make your speech more unique? I hope you are not at all offended by this observation, it's just that I am intrigued and have never seen this problem in someone that has got such a strong grasp of English.
LOL I am surprised that you say that since some people still think I have a heavy accent. Grammar was my worst subject in school, and pluralization my Achilles heel! I still don’t have a firm grasp of grammatical rules and only write and speak base on feel and experiences.
I don't understand, why did you test ride the pre-production S18 when you got the final/all tweaked S18 at your home? You had the opportunity to do the first ever video review of the production model, but instead, it's just one among others "WOW, the S18 IS AMAZING" clips that don't add anything new
Because I push the limit of the wheels I review and I don’t feel comfortable when its not mine or a demo. I did ride it and honestly feels no differences when it comes to performance or ride feel, the thicker pads are nice but thats about it. Yes it is slightly heavier but I wouldn’t be able to tell the differences if I were to ride them both blind. Oh and this is really more of a first impression than a full review!
V11 is way better imo, s18 is a flashy high maintenance girlfriend. V11 not so pretty wife that’s got a crazy side and is always there for you to ride 🤠 Just heard the V11 manufactures their own motors S18 use prefabricated
Well, if you are going to use that analogy, then I'll take the flashy one because a few years down the road I'll be trading in for an even flashier one. You can keep riding your big boned bronco, haha... But seriously though, the V11 is nice and it's tough to decide between the two.
I'd constantly be worried about the suspension valve on the V11. If you plan to take it off road, make sure to take the valve cap off every time. The S18 you don't have to worry about that. The suspension is better in every way really.
Reason #1 no stuttering when Hsiang talks in his videos whilst riding on NYC streets!
LOL you can tell how well it works just from my voice!
😁
Haha that’s a good point
Totally agree about the silly additions of speakers and lights... made EUCs look like toys. This one looks like a serious form of transport.
Even without speakers and LED lights, all EUCs are still toys for the big boys. Men are still kids at heart, with just so many birthdays under our belts.
Speakers and lights make you more noticeable for surrounding pedestrians/drivers, thus improving your safety.
Why is light considered toy? You know cars have them too, right?

King Song should add a detachable chin guard similar to the one on your helmet to the front of the S18 which can double as a stand :)

I went back and forth on this, but gave it to the s18 for how radical it is and the risk KS took!
Hey Hsiang, I'm choosing between the MCM5 v2 and the Tesla v2. What should I get as my first wheel and why?
And another one 😎✌🏾. Do you or have you mountain biked before? Greet video
Thank you!! Need to hit more trails on the s18!
Already ordered my S18....can't wait ride! Definitely better than the V11 overall in my opinion......
They both have their strengths and weakness, but both excellent wheel. If you’re gonna to see any dirt, the s18 can’t be beat.
I am a lover of the kimg song brand I would like to have a ks18xl but there is still no possibility, greetings😔
Is there any way we could combine the S18 and Sherman? Please!!!
LOL I love to see that, Gotway EX?
From watching some videos, V11 is Mercedes and S18 is BMW Sport
This is what I am thinking also!
Hi what you recommed to buy ks s18 or msp? Use will be 90% city road thanks
100% s18/ suspension wheels. Even on flat pavement with suspension the tire grabs the road better.
I ve never seen this shit before.... I want one😡
Its really cool, a bit of a learning curve but you should def get one!!
@@OWGAC it definitely looks fun as hell and compact as hell too and the price isnt too outrageous neither have you fallen off it yet?
@@yoneezy123 not this wheel but I have certainly fallen quite a few times, think of it like snowboarding or skiing you're gonna fall. this is why you'll see ppl fully padded up in motorcycle gear when they ride higher speed wheels!
V11 vs S18 comparison doesn't make sense. Like comparing a Jeep suspension and gas mileage to a sedan 4 door. They both can both be driven on the road or 'off road", but it's definitely driver specific.
They are actually very different wheels because of how different their suspension setup is!
Ruining kids makeout sessions is my primary interest in getting an EUC. As such I will consider the S18.
Too late to put a monkey wrench in my works, ordered the V11 in July.
LOL, you can't go wrong with either! having a suspension beats not having one any day!!!
To early to make a decision .....waiting for Gotway ....
I am in the same boat!
Thank you
=D
any issues with speed wobbles or braking wobbles?
You get wobbles with any wheels, you need to learn to control wobble at speed and during braking. There’s no way around it.
‘Push the S18 to its limits’ or ‘your’ limits? 😉😂😎 Great review btw. Spot on analysis. Few have done it so well for this new breed of wheel. Get mine next week😊
This is why I hold demos and get others to do the dangerous bit, LOL. Thank you!
Love the review Hsiang. I’m getting he V11 but thinking of getting both... LOL 😆
No cobra don’t do it lol 😂🇬🇧
ZoomWheels Brian No worries Brian that would have to be after I get the Sherman LOL...
Thank you! They ride totally different and I actually don’t think there are too much overlaps if you have both!
Bestest mostest proctectviest helmlet evah!!!!
LOL
I think if king song put a bigger battery in the s18 it wood of sold more than the v11 what a shame 🇬🇧🙏
Would a bigger battery reduce the off road and tricks capability from the extra weight? Have you had a chance to try a few wheels off road or on skate parks? (checked out your channel after comment and gave a sub, would really be interested in your opinion as you've got some extreme action and crash experience)
Chooch had the opinion that he wouldn't add any more weight or go for more range in slower technical riding.
I don't know if I want to learn on the V8 or get the V 11 or the ks s18
V8 will probably be the easiest one to learn on as it is lighter and more maneuverable. You can certainly learn on the v11 or the s18 also but it’ll prob hurt more when you drop those wheels while learning.
какой же красивый дизайн у этого колеса!
The owner of that wheel also swapped the suspension for a higher quality one so its no longer stock.
cool helmet. where to buy such a helmet?
Great video, my favorite looking Uni and you know how much I hate Uni's!😂
LOL eventually we’ll convert you!
@@OWGAC NEVER!
Any concern with debris getting caught in wheel?
no, I haven't encountering any issue despite seeing it drop and rolled down hills multiple times.
Reason 1 it is so handsome.
Hi , which one is better: s16 or s18?
battery sag is huge
Yes unfortunely thats the big down side of having a smaller battery
10:48 anyone know what trail this is?
What sling bag do you use ?
I love Chrome industry, and I mostly use their bags.
Only wheel that tempts me to betray gotway
And it is soooo much fun, made a few believers out of gotway lover here too!
Can you introduce about your helmet?
How can I purchase it by online?, if possible please show me your link. ^__^
which brakes better: ks18 or v11?
Hard to say, you need more experience to maximize your braking and I haven’t ridden the V11 enough to tell. But braking on the s18 had been solid.
J'ai vu des vidéos où l'amortisseur était bien plus souple , c'est dommage quand on a un amortisseur faut s'en servir.
Reason 6: safety.
THe braking abilityh is better on v11 if I understand correctly.
I need more time to know how suspension affect braking, but better traction should translate to better braking
@@OWGAC as always a thougtfull answer, regarding safety the potholes in the streets and unexpected bumps will probably not lead to crash as often as no-suspension wheels?
Finn Bjerke for sure! Just about every crash I have, had something to do with surface condition, suspension won’t save everything but certainly helps!
@@OWGAC That is good enough for me, so I have ordered the Inmotion v11 and will outphase my MSX.
I love your videos. Record more. P Lu's have a digital tip bot. Let
Thank you!
What’s that glove for? Hawk hunting? Wtf? No glove on the left hand))
I’d love to take up Hawk hunting; there’s one that live in my neighborhood also!
Great video! You're the Casey Neistat of EUCs !
If I were to ask you, which unicycle would you recommend for a beginner willing to spend under 1k USD?
If you'd tell me to invest more, which EUC would be the best you'd recommend?
Thank you for your time if you do find time to reply to this question :)
Orlando
I’d suggest buying the best wheel you can find used! Preferably a gotway cuz you get a bit more for your money but you’ll probably have to do more maintenance and repairs, but great learner wheels!
@@OWGAC thanks! I was thinking of the v5f too. What do you thunk about it? Finding a used wheel here in Prague, Czech Republic is pretty hard
I don’t like that all the reviews I’ve seen have been “preproduction.” With all the changes ks has promised, seems a little pointless to watch:/ When will we get to see a production version?
You get 85%(made up percentage) of it's actual performance 😁
What kind of adidas shoes are those?
Oh god, I don’t even remember, I bought them 2 years ago and love to find another pair but can’t find them either!
You’ll end up with quads like Chris Hoy.
nor 08
And that’s a problem?
Its like snowboarding or skiing, more midsection than quads actually.
Dump Chump
Wasn’t a criticism 🙂.
Hsiang
More fun and better exercise than sitting in a car that’s for sure.
Great vids👍🏻
👍
=D
Is it wrong that I’m lusting after a black one?
the black one looks very nice in person!
V11 is way better imo, s18 is a flashy high maintenance girlfriend.
V11 not so pretty wife that’s got a crazy side and is always there for you to ride 🤠
Just heard the V11 manufactures their own motors
S18 use prefabricated
Even though V11 has a higher maintenance.
Well, if you are going to use that analogy, then I'll take the flashy one because a few years down the road I'll be trading in for an even flashier one. You can keep riding your big boned bronco, haha... But seriously though, the V11 is nice and it's tough to decide between the two.
I thought the s18 looked better at first but the v11 design has grown on me a lot and I love it, also v11 looks significantly better in quality
I'd constantly be worried about the suspension valve on the V11. If you plan to take it off road, make sure to take the valve cap off every time. The S18 you don't have to worry about that. The suspension is better in every way really.
Chet Hilkert that’s about the only thing that’s better on the s18 though
