I know this video was a bit older but as a new subscriber here and newer to this sort of thing of flipping thrift store finds it was hugely beneficial to me to watch and learn from! Thank you! I am a single mom and work really hard at my "regular" job but am barely scraping by. So I thought about what I can do to help earn more income for my little family of me and 3 kiddo's? I already do lots of artsy stuff to relax and have quite a few IOD moulds and a few transfers ( I still haven't used the transfers!) I came across your video and the light bulb went off along with siren bells that I could flip thrift store finds!!! You make it look easy! I know it is a lot of work but maybe I could just start small with a canister set and 1 or 2 other flips and see how it goes? I love how you use the lazy Susan to help you paint all sides. How did you start out? What made you decide you could and wanted to do this for a living??? Very curious! Thanks again for inspiring me to try this!
Try using a small artist's brush to apply the cornstarch and use the proprietary rim they've integrated into the mould to keep from over filling them. The IOD sisters have a lot of great demo videos with tips and tricks for using all of their products. 😍
You just amaze me! These pieces are fantastic, they look just like crocks. I dont have any of the molds yet, but you can bet I will be ordering some if I can find them. I still don't have the stamps for crockery yet. Iv got the animals and the alfabet and that it. Everything is always out of stock, if you or Julie use it then forget it its going to be awhile before its available again. You are just so wonderful, you teach as you work. I have learned more from you than anyone. Thank you. Have a blessed week!
Giiiirrrrrrrllllll... you do NOT charge enough for your items!!! You put sooooo much work into your items, that you definitely are not charging for your time. I know you are in a farming community, but they should be willing to pay for the quality that you provide. The love, time, and effort that you put into each piece shines through!! I know I would we scarfing up one thing after another if I could get to your shop! ROAD TRIP!!!
I tend to agree. That's a heck of a lot of work for minimal profit. The cost of paint ,clay, molds, items and of course time spent has to be quite a bit. I guess it is offset by creating you tube content .
I'm 💯 obsessed with IOD products. In my personal opinion they're truly at the top of the game in this market. I'm so excited to see you using something from them as thats what caught my eye while scrolling 😄 I really appreciate as a buyer the extra steps to protect the insides of the canisters. Very professional 👏Just for the future, with IOD you really don't need cornstarch but if you choose to you would want to use barely any just a very light dusting is all you need with their moulds. Also, they're famous and the only one's who have the microedge which mean that once you put your clay in you press with your thumbs or a credit card and it will remove all clay from edges leaving you with a perfect image that you don't have to then trim. It's what makes their moulds the absolutely best. Regarding their clay it is different than clay you buy at craft stores as thats more 'play' clay. IOD clay is actually professional artist grade clay so it's a big difference to work with. There's some amazing videos that can help you get familiar with their products as they're a little different but SO worth it🤗 I have also learned we can glue them down while the peices are still fresh. It's actually a benefit. Im still a learner just sharing tips I've learned. You really made these turn out fantastic!!! So happy I found you🙏
I love these!! I just bought a bunch of prima molds but i will check these out. A suggestion. While making cakes i used an old sock with corn starch or powder sugar in it and tied off at the toe and cut. Like a little ball filled with powder. Just tap it into the mold and then turn over to take the excess out. It’ll last you forever. Love your channel. 👍🏼🤍 P.S. put wood glue on the back of your clay after molding it and slap it on there. It’ll dry along with the clay and you wont have to worry about it popping off and it’ll go all the way to the edges and your petals will touch the crock. Easier painting after it all dries. 🌸
Ginger use a paint brush to dust on your cornstarch and when you put the clay there are ridges on on the mould that cut off the edges Press with your fingers.you can also glue you mould right away while it is wet
I look forward to your videos every day and you never disappoint. I chuckled when you brought out the mini rolling pin. Of course you would have one! You did an amazing job! Thanks for sharing.
Hello Yvonne- I've been watching you for months and love your videos. Your hair and makeup always looks so beautiful! Keep putting out videos I look forward to watching all of them.
Wonderful projects! Just wanted to let you know that IOD has micro-rims. The extra clay will roll right off that rim so there's no need to trim the excess off later! :)
Oh my goodness, Yvonne! You did such an amazing job on those molds! I have watched others do them but they can t compare to how yours looked! So much detail shows on yours! I think the way you used both of the waxes made the difference. I just did my first try at the textured paint yesterday and was pleased with the outcome on my birds a d some fruit I thrifted. I see now that I need to go back with just the plain Mineral paint to fine tune. Your delight in working with the molds is adorable as you do what you love and love what you do. It's contagious!
I always play a guessing game when you post pictures of your projects, and I ALWAYS guess a higher price than you actually post them for! What beautiful bargains!
Love this video. When your mold is full of clay just move your thumb to push it over the ridge on the edge to remove all of the excess. You've probably watched the IOD videos, I love the way that you can learn how to use of their products. I'm glad that I found your channel.
I'm kinda behind, but wanted to say that your work is beautiful. I discovered IOD a couple of years ago, and they changed my life. BTW, you don't charge enough for your time and products. They're getting a gem when they buy your beautiful hand crafted items. God bless you and your family🙂
Your attention to detail elevates your items beyond anyone I've watched to date! Truly, by the time you are finished with an item, it is a work of art.
Hey Yvonne, so glad to see you trying out the moulds! So I just wanted to share a quick tip that someone gave me. Use a very small, dry paint brush and brush your cornstarch one. You only need a very thin coating. It will save you a ton of product!
So gorgeous!!! You use the tape rollers to stabilize your item...I saw another crafter a (name??) use a large zip bag filled with legumes (split peas, beans) to stabilize/set her items...just thought I'd share! LOVE your work 💗🥰💗
Love them all. !! You just keep getting better and better ..Love how you in joy your work... I also love & can’t wait to see the outcome of the project.
Just bought the IOD sunflower and how apropos your video was on with the great detailed directions! Thank you very much for sharing, I feel more confident trying this out because this is my first time. Diane
You know you had me at SUNFLOWER! 😜😍 And, now I'm going to possibly help you with this tip...a little essential oil in your molds is pure heaven they fall out 😲 Now sticking or breaking. I saw this on another RUclips channel of an Asian women and I apologize for not recalling her name🙃 I was struggling with my molds doing the faux key locks, they are so beautiful and detailed. The essential oil trick made me pull them out of the trash bucket and love on my molds once more. Now I NEED this sunflower mold. Thank you for this incredible video. I already love them all and I don't have my mold yet. Oh the struggle! Hugs Yvonne my hero🤩😘
OMG!! WOW!! Gorgeousness overload. These are absolutely beautiful. Love them all, but that large one with the big sunflower, yes! It is so, so beautiful. I have been using moulds for several years in my mixed media art pieces and have put a few designs on some old bottles but never took it to this level before. I definitely will be getting the sunflower moulds in the very near future. Thank you so much for the inspiration and for challenging us all to take our creativity to new levels. Love watching you and Chris work y'alls magic on old unloved pieces. Y'all are the best! Love and hugs! xx
Those mounds turned out so well! You always do such fabulous work and make me feel like I can do it too! Will be looking for mounds now! Love you and your videos!
You simply amaze and wow us all!! Goodness gracious, just when I think you've mastered it all, you surprise us with something more! Just beautiful Yvonne!
Aww.. Beth you are too kind. Not sure if I’m a master. But I do have a lot of fun. And si appreciate you all watching. And your tips are what helps me to get better 🤗☺️💝🌻
Yvonne excited for you and your new moulds they are so much fun! A hint for your cornstarch use a paint brush and you can brush it into all the little crevices. Also be careful leaving your clay unwrapped for too long. I always have mine in a gallon bag and put it in when I actually doing the moulds. You are going to have so much fun with these!! Love, love, love all that you did and I think I’m Going to have to get the sunflower too, it’s fabulous!!!
My goodness, God has blessed you girl! Amazing job! I love the molds, the texture, the distressing, all of it! You are so inspiring! Thank you for another awesome video! God bless you! ❤
Oh my I could have watched you do those sunflowers all night and yes you gave a good tutorial oh how to do those molds and they all look terrific. I love sunflowers. Great job Yvonne!!
There is something so soothing about painting. I find myself in a peaceful and tranquil mood. I have been painting and watching your videos all weekend. It is so fun to see what you are creating.
Just a quick note, try using titebond QUICK AND THICK glue under the moulds to attach to surface for extra hold....works really well. Love all things Gingerchick.
Love it!!I have this Sunflower Mould but havent tried it yet!! Super Excited!!TFS!!😘🥰🌻🌻🌻 The Moulds have the exact amt of Clay printed to use on each section...didn't know if u knew that.
When I use my molds..I use a soft brush..an brush the cornstarch in..it works great..just dip in your container..an brush it on...u can use wood glue. An attach while it's wet..then let dry
I love everything, especially the IOD molds. The two colors (grey and Tealish grean) on the lids. Ha Ha, I realized you painted them black I watched!! it was the lights I guess. But that's an idea.
I told you that you would love transfers! These products (moulds, transfers, stencils, etc) give you so much versatility in your tool box. Great job on these items!!
Hi there there's a much easier way to use corn starch, and those molds have microrims to avoid the extra clay on the edges. You just use an old credit card, and run it outward along that micro rim. Try it❤️
Just got my sunflower on Wednesday. It makes me happy! So beautiful. I put the big one on a basket and the closed bud on a plaque. I’m in love! Happy to see it used differently. Will go through my stash to find a crock.
I use wood glue to make sure the figure doesn't come off. You can glue them down before they are dried. Also try using a brush to spread the cornstarch o baby powder on the mold . But like always amazing work
Oh my gosh!!!! These are all stunning!!!!!! If I lived near your booth, I’d be broke lol. Absolutely love everything!!!! I need some air dry clay and IOD moulds now!!!!! 🤗🤗🤗
I don't know how I missed the first one is absolutely stunning I love you check it out these small they look like they're fun they're beautiful when I'm done and you did an excellent job thanks so much for sharing and God bless you and Chris
So great how they all turned out. I recently had a Goodwill haul and I think one pot will be my trial piece for the textured technique. So love watching you work your magic.
I’m sure by now your aware of this but you can glue the glue while it’s wet don’t have to wait until dray. You did great with the clay for your first time it’s fun to remember our play dough days but I use resin these days, no cracking as it drys. I
If you glue them down before they dry you eliminate a lot of the gaps. You can even paint them before they dry.
With all the work you do on these pieces I don't know how you make any money at the prices you are selling them for. You do a great job.

Your big smile tells us how much fun you had with the molds. And everything looks great. I like the way the cow shows up on the pitcher.
Aww.. thank you. Yes .. they were very fun to work with. I can only imagine if I actually completely knew what I was doing. 🤗

Linda, won't it shrink and pull away, if you glue it while it is still wet?
I look forward to your videos every day and you never disappoint. I chuckled when you brought out the mini rolling pin. Of course you would have one! You did an amazing job! Thanks for sharing.
Love that. Yes of course.. mini rolling pin☺️

You never disappoint! Outstanding! I don’t think you charge enough ! I would pay more for those large crocks! Wish I lived near your booths! ❤️👍🏻
Aww.. thank you 💝

Your thick paint masked that Crack perfectly!

Oh.. I’m with you. It doesn’t feel like work. It’s so tranquil. I definitely agree with you there🤍

I’m always so excited when you upload a video! Thank you for your hard work to provide good content for us!

I think these are some of my favorite things you have created...love them😊
Aww.. thank you
I told you that you would love transfers! These products (moulds, transfers, stencils, etc) give you so much versatility in your tool box. Great job on these items!!
Yes.. yes, your were right. Now I’m addicted🤗
These are so pretty.
Aww.. thank you
Wow…so impressed…these pieces are all beautiful! Learned a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching 🌻
These IOD molds are the best, love the sunflower and what you've done with them. Great job
Hi there there's a much easier way to use corn starch, and those molds have microrims to avoid the extra clay on the edges. You just use an old credit card, and run it outward along that micro rim. Try it❤️
And use an old paintbrush to brush the cornstarch all around and if crevises❤️
Wow! Beautiful...every last piece.
A cheap paint brush ( home depot) and baby powder work for molds too!😉
Oh my gosh love that sunflower 🌻
Just got my sunflower on Wednesday. It makes me happy! So beautiful. I put the big one on a basket and the closed bud on a plaque. I’m in love! Happy to see it used differently. Will go through my stash to find a crock.
Oh.. yes.. I’m with you. Now what can I put them on🌻🤍
Yvonne, I love these all so much!
Aww.. thank you
Next time I go to Michigan, I'm going to take a detour and go to the antique mall you are at and see what I can buy! I always love your work
Aww.. thank you for sharing that 🤍
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the difference your creativity and hard work has made with all your items.
Thank you
I use wood glue to make sure the figure doesn't come off. You can glue them down before they are dried. Also try using a brush to spread the cornstarch o baby powder on the mold . But like always amazing work
Oh… thank you for sharing that. I need all the tips I can get.💝
It was so satisfying watching the transformation of those crocks! You know I love sunflowers! Awesome, awesome job🤩🌻😊🌻
Thank you so much 🤗
Oh my gosh!!!! These are all stunning!!!!!! If I lived near your booth, I’d be broke lol. Absolutely love everything!!!! I need some air dry clay and IOD moulds now!!!!!
