This video was in my RUclips recommended page today...
1). Miku type products are now permanently boring for me.
2). 720p has nothing whatever to do with sound resolution. The audio tracks in 720p are AAC with 5.1 channels when intended for DVD storage, and 9.1 channels when intended for BluRay. When stand alone, the AAC audio is normally simple stereo.
Now if you created this whole video with non-standard audio track codec, that would explain the audio problem. But AAC is already the best there is for compression codec audio at ANY screen resolution. The video can be 240p and still have great audio. Only the video resolution improves in these cases.
3). As for the video, overall; I remain unimpressed. The buildings and background scenery is fairly good, but all the character art is blocky, pixelated, and problematic. If this video overall, is 720p, the characters remain at something like blittered 480p or something. The action rendering Needs more work, in order to remain in the same resolution with the rest of the artwork.

1. An amusing script is more important than video quality details. That's why people still love black and white silent movies with Charlie Chaplin. This video is currently my 3rd most viewed video out of 165, so the script is a hit. (I merely translated and subtitled it. Silius-P in Japan made made the video, many many years ago, probably on a laptop with unimpressive specs).
2. Things change over time at RUclips. Most people's HD uploads became 192 kbit/s AAC before March 28th 2016, and merely 126 kbit/s AAC after that date. If you download RUclips videos from the mid 2010's and examine them with SPEK: spek.cc/ , then you'll notice a clear pattern: 480p/360p/240p videos don't have 192 kbit/s sound, whereas 720p/1080p/1440p have it.
The situation for my HD upload in 2017 was this: 360p had 126 kbit/s AAC and 720p had 192 kbit/s AAC. 1080p and 1440p were mute and borrowed the 720p soundtrack via the RUclips video player. 480p and 240p borrowed the 360p soundtrack. When my video grabber downloaded other people's 1080p videos I got a mute video, so I downloaded the 720p as well, extracted the 720p soundtrack, and dubbed it onto the mute 1080p video afterwards.
The situation since March 2016 is that HD uploads directly from a hard drive folder uploaded via the RUclips player's own upload button will only give 126 kbit/s AAC on a channel with more than 165 videos (like mine), but 192 kbit/s AAC on channel with less than 35 videos (like the Imiga Kiken channel). HD uploads from inside any video software will still give 192 kbit/s. That's why I upload all my videos from inside free Movavi Share Online, like this: 1. Upload as private. 2. Download. 3. Examine with SPEK. 4. If it became 192kbit/s, ONLY then make it public.
In May 2017, when RUclips switched to HTML5 and stopped annotation editing and new annotations, then were further changes made as well. For at least a few months were 1080p video possible to watch as 1080p, but only possible to download as 720p. I've not tested recently if this still is true?
Note: Extremely old RUclips videos may have extremely good sound quality. I've seen 240p videos videos with 320 kbit/s soundtrack (uploaded around 2007 maybe?) I don't know if they remain 320 kbit/s after the May 2017 changes? [Clearly well less than 1% of all RUclips's videos have ever been 320 kbit/s].
Over the years RUclips's principle has been this: Only the update date decides the the sound quality. Future sound quality reductions will only affect future uploads, not already existing uploads. (So the 320 bkit/s oldies should remain 320 kbit/s to this day?)
Note: All above applies to the AAC soundtrack in MP4 downloads. WEBM downloads contain an OGG soundtrack instead. OGG soundtracks don't have a fixed bitrate. They have a variable bitrate depending on the need, (often between 140-150 kbit/s at RUclips). So any RUclips video with 128 kbit/s AAC or less in the MP4 download almost always has a lot better sound quality in the WEBM download than in the MP4 download.
Note: Many videos were uploaded simultaneously by the creator both to NicoNico and RUclips. In many cases it's best to combine the soundtrack from one video site with the video from the other video site. Furthermore, Piapro sometimes has a better soundtrack than either video site.
Note: Old MMD 7.39 and older cut down the sound quality of any soundtrack to 128 kbit/s. So for most old MMD song videos, it's better to use the soundtrack of the original song release video.
Most important of all: One must download every possible soundtrack source, compare them with SPEK, and examine your own material with SPEK between EVERY step of your own video productions. spek.cc/
