CSR reports net profit of $240 million, up 7%.

CSR reported a net profit for the 2024 financial year of $240 million, up 7% on the previous year, with trading revenue flat at $2.6 billion. But the group’s aluminium business posted a loss of $29 million over the year, driven by higher energy costs, compared to a profit of $8 million the previous year. The company will not pay a final dividend. CSR has a 25 per cent stake in the Tomago aluminium smelter in NSW which the board agreed to a $4.3 billion buyout bid from French group Saint-Gobain back in February. Shareholders will vote on the bid at a meeting in mid-June.
