I'm learning to appreciate the CSB more. It was recommended by a friend (another Bible reviewer) so I thought I would give it a try. I admit that it took some adjusting to, on my part. Saved in 1988 at 39 years old, the church I attended was KJV only. I moved away from that church to one that used the NIV, which I was never really comfortable with. I started attending a Calvary Chapel, where I was finally baptized, and went back to the KJV as my daily Bible, and abandoned the NIV completely at that time. My husband and I live in a senior apartment community where the majority of we old timers agree that the King James is the way to go. Perhaps it's an age thing?

I also have incorporated it in my regular reading and study now. It’s a solid translation and Holman does a really good job with the layout and physical printing of the Bible’s. I like to read the CSB alongside the NKJV. Seems like a good combo for me. Lol.
I like to occasionally visit my KJV but have to admit. The language is just a little too much usually.

I bought this for my sister with her name on the front. No regrets!! Made me want one. 😂 it’s gorgeous and absolutely everything I would want in a Bible. 💯

Its annual reading plan is not in chronological order like the Bible Recap is.

I don’t believe it’s intended to be. There are literally hundreds of reading plans that come out every year. Chronological is just one of them. Holman does offer a CSB Chronological Bible if that’s what you’re looking for

i like to read the bible in Alphabetical order, one chapter a day, every day. by reading it in Alphabetical order, the only thing i have to keep track of is the book and chapter that i'm on and that's a lot easier for me.

@@ClaimingChristianity truth be told, the thing that helped get me into the habit of reading the bible every day is by taking my bible with me into the bathroom every time i had to go lol. as funny as that is, lol, the logic behind it is this: by pairing one thing with something else that you do everyday, it eventually becomes a habit. so, now, i've gotten to the point where i don't have to do that anymore because, regardless of when i read the bible, i still read it every single day, even if it's not at the same time every day. plus, an added bonus of reading in the bathroom is: you get emptied and filled at the same time lol

Hi Steve, I have this Bible for a few years now, It's not as exhaustive as ESV Study Bible, ESV Reformation Study Bible, or Biblical theology Study bibles are. I have also found in it theological mistakes, or making points without reference to relevant Scripture. I call it the fruitless fig tree, because a few times I needed more information and this Bible was not serious at all. Everyone should be serious about study of God's word and I don't recommend this Bible to anyone, there are better ways to be steward of time and money the LORD provides us with, it's also red text which I don't prefer, I'll be giving mine away.

the MacArthur has a lot of helpful information. The study notes are better than ESV (in my opinion as of now).

Bottomline decisions on versions should be if you support Calvinism or free will. CSB is a Southern Baptist version so supports free will. ESV on other hand, supports predestination/Calvinism. All reviewers should note this important key, as you need to know what you are reading.
