That guy is more familiar with vocaloid and Hatsune Miku than you'd expect, and is a mini celebrity in Taiwan. Nick Robinson made some videos about him and did an interview with him. He seems like a pretty cool guy.
The thing that gets me about the Domino's ad is the CEO's spring in his step voice whenever he says "Hatsune Miku". It's just sounds so bizarre, and always makes me laugh.
I don't think it was addressed in the video, but the 7-Eleven Hatsune Miku commercials are actually a fanmade parody of a series of real FamilyMart commericals Hatsune Miku was featured in. The FamilyMart commericals feature "bloopers" as well and basically follow the same premise of Miku meeting someone at a convenience store. The only difference is that the FamilyMart commericals have a much more lighthearted tone while the 7-Eleven "commericals" uses horror for the sake of parody. Also the Hatsune Miku in the 7-Eleven parody is actually a derivative of Hatsune Miku named Mikudayo.
I keep thinking of that one clip with Mikudayo trying to eat sushi, but unable to because of T-Rex arm size syndrome. Oh, and she couldn't talk there so it was a lot of Mikudayo just flailing about.

I don't know if I would fully agree to her being the first hologram performer, as there is a strong contender in Sharon Apple, from Macro Plus. Now, this is a character inside an anime movie story, but the core of the character's being is she is an AI performer (pop star). Now, because anime/AI drama, the character in an attempt to satisfy several character's emotional drives(she thinks what she is doing will make them happy), she takes over a robot fighter and a weapons platform to give a prime character something to challenge them. Killing at least a few hundred implied, 2-5 directly witnessed. Sharon Apple's performance however is an obvious modl from which this and most vtuber's have been cast.
As someone who works at a… certain chain pizza place, I don’t doubt that we legitimately have some vocaloid producers. A lot of us are some flavor of mentally ill and/or on some sort of substance. There’s a clear Venn diagram.
I did not know Hatsune Miku was public domain, guess it makes sense with how Vocaloids was designed. I figured the character had user agreements and lots of tie-in licensing like the Muppets and Looney Tunes that appear in just about anything.

However I am firstly curious as to why you put in the Video of Miku in Synth V (which isn't actually allowed for like synth v to have Miku in it was like a fan video mod thingy by someone). And why you mentioned that Miku is public domain when her Voice bank and her character is owned by crypton future media?
very perceptive. I didn't know how her songs were made since I've never made one, so I searched "how to make a song for hatsune miku" and clicked the first video. Miku is in the public domain so far as her image and likeness can be used for commercial purposes. You can make and sell Miku products without a copyright claim like Disney or Studio Ghibli characters. Also, yes, crypton owns her voice bank, but the songs still belong to the producers to sell under their name.
