I’ve never understood financing a car. If it’s gonna take you 5 years to pay off a car, why not just…save up for 5 years and buy it with cash? It will cost much less because you don’t pay interest, so you’d actually only have to save for like 3-4 years. I completely share your viewpoint and am trying to never have a car payment. However, some people need a newer/more reliable car for work or their family/safety. Doesn't mean you should go buy a new turd of an electric Merc, but it's understandable to have a car payment for some people.
