Some readers have speculated that the salt water was the murderer's father's tears. According to the author of this SCP however, the salt water was actually the bowl's tears and it was crying because it was sad that its soup can't help someone who would murder their own father.

I didn't know my father very well but the time I did spend with him showed that he loved me dearly, and I miss him. This is a wonderful SCP
Theory: The final bowl was the father’s last attempt to make amends with his son. Something like “I forgive you” may have appeared had he finished it. When the soup was rejected and thrown out, the salt water was his tears.
Man this scp made me tear up. I just lost my father in June of this year so if this whole scp thing was real then I would really love to try the soup. Any message from the stubborn man would just bring me peace.

The woman who was generally estranged from her parents yet still made sure they were cared for: Sometimes love still flows in different ways. At least her deceased father knew it.

IMP, the bowl is probably an embodiment of Fatherhood. Basically it resonates with the paternal need of either party between the person eating the soup and the fatherhood the bow reprensented. Its quite sad when the bowl became filled with salt water because that probably represent the tears of the murdered father rather than words. What a great scp I’m glad someone wrote something to comfort children with troubles as a kid who grew up with no parents this bowl would’ve been an amazing thing to have around
Here are some ideas for putting this in SCP-914: Rough: Pieces of ceramic with a small puddle of ink on the side. Coarse: Regular bowl with no anomalous properties. 1:1: Gives messages from deceased friends or other relatives etc. Fine: Enables consumer to communicate with the soup as it is giving them messages. Very fine: Spawns deceased relative to give advice when eating but disappears when soup is finished.

this scp knows the pain of losing his dad, the scp's dad is the big ceramic plate. it died so it tries it best to comfort others this is also made for the kid who's dad left for the milk
Theory: The origin of the messages come from words that the DADs said. That probably is the reason why 348 is called "A Gift from Dad". As seen from the adult test subject who rejected help of her DAD, the word "Why?" appeared, which, after my theory, was the DAD asking his daugther why she rejected his caring help. (Also applies to the Subject after that)

What a great scp I’m glad someone wrote something to comfort children with troubles as a kid who grew up with no parents this bowl would’ve been an amazing thing to have around
Dr Bright is not allowed to have soup from SCP-348; it might traumatize the bowl
"I'm glad your happy"
That's enough to make a grown man cry and that's ok
This would be perfect on Happy Father's Day.
Ohhhhhhhh nice one
@Bochen Liu it’s a pun based on the name, not the properties
Here are some ideas for putting this in SCP-914:
Rough: Pieces of ceramic with a small puddle of ink on the side.
Coarse: Regular bowl with no anomalous properties.
1:1: Gives messages from deceased friends or other relatives etc.
Fine: Enables consumer to communicate with the soup as it is giving them messages.
Very fine: Spawns deceased relative to give advice when eating but disappears when soup is finished.
about tine i see a wholesome and heartwarming SCP.
You should visit the archives! Like the actual wiki page. It's kind of hard to sift through them since there are SO MANY entries but there are actually a lot of very wholesome and helpful SCP. Or at least plenty that don't cause harm with any intent. It's a collaborative community so you can find every flavor of SCP there. ☺️
Just check out SCP-999 😀
There's a lot
Theres always 999 and 053
i don’t know y it’s an scp it’s too wholesome
This would be an interesting healing item in a video game.

SCP Explained: Think of your worst memory while growing up.
Me: Mine IS growing up
Everyone felt that
Dude...
That and neglect from growing up!
emo alert
As a kid in care. Yes
Every child gangsta till the word "You will float, too..." start showing up on the bowl.
Shit u right
oh my
Imagine going up to your friends and saying "I just got a message that said your the best from bowl"
Me: eats the soup
The message: where is the god damn milk.
LMAO
Looks like the father got lost while finding milk
Me: *pouring milk before cereal*
348: I put poison in the cereal
Took me a minute to realize what the joke was, then... well, let's say the floor had a big boulder on it.
Me:SON!!
The most pain that I ever felt when I was a kid was landing a metle ladder on a play ground on my groin.
Not even the soup could fix that
Ikr
Nouthing can fix that
+10 respect
happened to me too, just missed the groin a little and hit the tendon
I don't know why but when I was watching this I cried because SCP-348 is really sweet, I wish I had that lil bowl in my house
Omg why am I crying while listening to this…I need this SCP in my life, I love my dad but we do tend to Buttheads sometimes but I still love him…even though he gets me pissed off I still love him…❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭
This one always puts me to tears immediately
I'm calling mine right after this
As much as we like a good horror story, we need more happy SCP tales like this as well.
My dad died today. This video autoplayed while I was at my computer. That hit me in ways I never thought possible.
So basically the bowl is telling what there parents would say
@puteqX Well the bowl leaves messages that would or could be from the consumers dad, so who knows.
Thats what i said
My dad would say "Why did i not just send you to the orphanage"
@@hongphuongpham80 😂😂
I'd like this bowl, please. I need it in my life.
Joking aside, this is incredibly wholesome.
I’m literally tearing up listening to this, like the children who don’t have their fathers in their life’s either because of death or other circumstances are given a sort of “final message” from their fathers
It took me a long time to find out what this scp meant. My eyes are watering. Whoever made this is genius. Great job to the author. Never has an scp hit this hard.
Sorry for your dad man

it would probably say "Im sorry" or something along the lines of that
"I'm sorry son"
*intense crying*
SCP-348: exists
Everyone: Look squidward, I made a sweater with my tears! 😭
(Also applies to the Subject after that)
It's weird I still think falling over hurt more than my broken leg that fucked me up

I mean stubing my toe to this day STILL hurts worse than me BREAKING MY ARM.
Fun Fact. The msg above us indeed true
When the bowl said "Thank You" it remind me of a sad song from among us
This is such a wholesome scp. We need more of those

SCP-348: *makes soup to make children feel good*
GOC (probably): “Now this is an Avengers level threat!”
Did the GOC did that
I will obliterate the GOC so hard it would make world war 2 and every dictatot look like a tea party and a warm welcomming party
If the GOC were to do that, I will make the WW2 look like a few children playing amongst themselves.
You guys are stupid,The GOC only terminates harmful anomalies or any anomalies that can breach the secrency of anomaly, this is not one of them, its not harmful and is completely safe in terms of containment.
I don't think GOC whould destroy it Is not a treath to humanity and to secrecy as It doesn't move on is own.

ah yes, one of the first scp stories that made cry like a mf. this one takes a special place in my heart
This one and Where the Dragons Went are the best for it. Honestly had me crying after for both of them.
Very true
That one tale related to this SCP makes me ache... Dr Bright and SCP-166 (Clef's daughter) are described as trying it out and the results... my heart. Do go take a look if you find it.
Dang, I never thought they'll do this scp
The picture where the scp scientist, who has sent countless d class to their death just to see what happens, is berating the parents for working to much and being slightly neglectful. Lmfaoo I love when they throw in those little ironys or tidbits in the animation
Professionals have STANDARDS
i mean the d-class are actually bad people so

Who cried from this? It can't just be me crying.
When I was 7 I fell off my bike, snapped my femur and tried to walk home. I feel that would still hurt as an adult
I do really enjoy the friendly and helpful SCPs.
The soup's message when I drink it:
"Are ya winning, son?"
GOC: "Ok, but how do we weaponize it?"
You can't. If the GOC does it, they will have to fight a war that will make the WW2 look like a few children playing.
