Please Milwaukee, if you're keeping Burnes and Adames, bringing up Churrio, DHing Yelich, then you HAVE to bring in a power bat or two and GO FOR IT this year! Stick it the Counsell and the Cubs!!! Let's go Milwaukee!!!

Sadly I think Abax is right, the next year or two will be rebuild years. We have a great farm system and odds are the Cubs will destroy themselves within that span.
Come 2025 or 2026, the Brewers will own the central again. Hopefully and plausibly.

@bjblitz2701 If we're being real here, the Brewers had the central last year, and Woodruff is the only major blow they've had this offseason. Woody also only made 11 starts last year. It's becoming clearer that they are not going to move Burnes and Adames, and if that's the case, then they are trying to compete next year. Also, if Churrio signs and is on that opening day roster, then they are obviously not doing a full rebuild. If they were doing a full rebuild, then they'd keep Churrio in AAA next season. Let's also keep in mind that the Cubs haven't done anything major yet with their roster. I agree that they will likely be the odds on favorite for the division before next season, but until the opening day rosters are set, I'm not crowning them. Milwaukee might have extra motivation this season.

Nah, if we keep Burnes and Adames, it's gonna be super hard for Cubs to surpass. They at least need to address the FA hole and still need to do a lot more.

@@bjblitz2701Rebuilds are always overrated. All it takes is the right mix. Look at the Rangers. I’d be more apt to re-tool, than rebuild.

Great move. They just need to get a true clean up hitter. If they do that . They can compete. Go brew crew.

Well unlike NBA or NFL, projecting where these top propsects will be is so difficult in MLB. 80M is a lot of money as you can still secure decent FA signings with that money.... Teams should do what ATL is doing as you have 2 to 3 years of MLB sample size rather than relying on the minor league data...

10M AAV can't even buy you a back end starter anymore...Wait for 2 or 3 years of sample size will cost you more than 50M even 100M.

NFL and NBA cant project anyone being good. NFL literally has no QBs

if they wait until he's built a bigger body of work then we're talking $200m instead of $80m. There's tradeoffs to everything. This guy could be a huge bust, or a huge star. If he turns out to be a star this will be a fantastic deal for the brewers. If he's a bust then wasting $80m sucks but not the end of the world for a team. It's a lot of money for a kid but he still has to work to get the bigger payoff.
